  1. I see it differently. To me it says that every experience changes you as a person. We are all a product of our environment. Who we are depends on how we each react to life. I react to a situation much differently then you.
  2. It's from the movie Dark Knight. The Joker said that line.
  3. What would you test in anyone's belief?? People believe so many different things! Belief often does not require evidence, so there is nothing to test. The best example of this is god. There have been lots of different gods that people have believed in or currently believe in all with out any evidence of existence. Belief can make you do strange things. When you can provide physical evidence of god any god then I will change my mind on this subject. This evidence must be repeatable for anyone and also be able to be tested and verified many times.
  4. I believe what doesn't kill you makes you stranger.
  5. I think you should talk to your local instructors that know you. Just going off of the numbers you have you should either stay with what you have for another 300 jumps or upsize to 190 or 200 sqft canopy. Downsizing and changing to a higher performance canopy at the same time is generally not a good idea.
  6. That is what I find most impressive about PD. They will not sell anything they are not fully confident of the quality and design. I consider their R&D to be top notch. There is no question in my mind as to why they are the market leader.
  7. After reading your original post and a few of your other posts. I still fail to see a problem with ParaGear. You come across as whining about nothing. You would have been better off not posting about this.
  8. I don't think I would want to have music while I was training for competition. Too much of a distraction. but if I were doing RW video it would be nice.
  9. interesting, I might consider spending $350 on that!
  10. You have quite the fantasy world, yet no evidence to support it. Your writings have more in common with Dungeons and Dragons then reality.
  11. It's been a long time since I have ever been asked for my log book. Most dropzones don't seem to be interested in seeing a log book. At least the dropzones I have been to lately. When going to a new dropzone and trying to get on a freefly jump, they don't ask to see my log book. They generally ask where I am at in my freefly progression. I tell them what my level is and then I have to back it up with an actual jump. If I can't back up what I say then I look like a dumbass. In freeflying the bullshitters show very quickly who they are.
  12. You are going float like crazy. Try gaining weight!!
  13. My Neptune is my log book. I haven't kept a written log book since about jump 600. Log books don't mean much to me. If you don't have the skills then it will show.
  14. Well I guess we will share a laugh together. If you think our consciousness is just a systematic firing of neurological tissues causing the exchange of psychoactive compounds, then that is equally as funny. I would have loved to hear your opinion 1000 years ago of why skin felt warm when the sun shined on it, since electromagnetism was yet to be discovered. How ever you want to define it we are physical and spiritual beings. The universe has to be full of the energy of self-awareness, otherwise we wouldn't be here having this conversation. Convince me otherwise. Show me a chemical reaction that can produce just 0.01gram of love or compassion and I will sign onto your bah-humbug manifesto. ... You have zero evidence to support your claims and beliefs of supernatural occurences or the existence of supernatural beings(god). All you have is what you imagine to be true.
  15. LOL I am sorry I just can't read that sentance with out laughing. Now you have imaginary laws to go along with an imaginary all powerful being! And you expect to be taken seriously???!!!!
  16. Faith is not needed to believe god is not real. It's the lack of evidence that leads to this conclusion.
  17. All I see from you is a lot of talk with no evidence to back up anything you say. You found hope in something you desperately want to believe. Yet you have nothing to back up those beliefs. I call that wishful thinking at best and delusional at worst.
  18. That is probably true if you are an academic. But if your are a miserable sinner and hopelessly lost like me. You know what you need to find, and you damn well know it when you find it, irreguardless of how you interpret it. ... I am sorry, but you don't "know what you need to find". You believe you know what you are a looking and you believe you have found it. But you have no objective evidence to back any of your findings. So you have no way to know if you are just imagining your beliefs. Your biggest problem is you begin with a belief and then look for and find evidence to support it and throw away or discard anything that doesn't fit. You have lost objectivity. Your emotions drive you to believing in your god.
  19. And that's what makes Christianity so hard to believe. The Bible can be interpreted so many different ways that there is no way to know what the correct interpretation is.
  20. Not much of a rebuttel!!?
  21. You just haven't seen the "light" yet!!!
  22. 1. 1802 2. 1 3. Spinning line twists, Partial I didn't have my first cutaway till jump 1742.
  23. PD has a big piece of the market, but they are no where near to qualifying as a monopoly. You need to get out more. There is a variety of canopies out there. I don't understand why anyone would dislike a company simply by the size of their market share.
  24. I bought my computer with an Intel Quad Core processor from the Dell Refurb site for less then $400. Google it.
  25. At that price if I were a competitive swooper I don't think I could pass it up. Even if the cost of the plane ticket were $1000 it would be a good deal! Considering what you get for that $600! Unfortunately my discipline is 4 way VFS.
