  1. Such a good looking by ... thank you for saving him form BAD people . Where are you located? O
  2. I lied ... one more stupid question: freefly suit or RW suit? (What is the typical crowd comprised of at this boggie?) I suck at both, but can "hang" with others in both disciplines. The suits (especially the grippy RW one) take a lot of space. If I had it my way, I would jump in tights and t-shirt, but if I do so, I fall like a brick; 135mph on belly or 165mph in a sit anyone? O
  3. Is that battery powered? Can prolly find power to recharge, but a constant power source may be an issue. I got two of those ... bringing the one that has rechargable internal battery ... O
  4. I'm trying to avoid last second packing, which is what I typically do; I started putting things in a luggage this morning and seeing bikinis next to my fleece jackets, it feels like I'm not doing it right ... So, prepare for very, very, very hot during the day and (relatively) very, very cold at night, correct? This is the last stupid question, I promise ... I'm trying to keep my packing "minimalist", but I won't be able to avoid bringing 2 full size luggages; one of them filled up just with my jumpsuits, camera helmet, spare main canopy and Bose iPod sound dock ... O
  5. Thank you!!! I am aware of the elevation and good friends have been advising me to bring my old main (Pilot 188), since I just recently downsized to a Safire2 169. To my delight, I have actually been landing better on the smaller canopy (more speed = more flare finally "clicked" with me), but I only have about 12 - 15 jumps on the new/smaller one. I would preffer sticking with my new canopy, but if I'll end up scaring myself senseless on every landing, it may take the fun out of it. I jump at sea level, the highest elevation I've jumped at is Lake Elsinore, which is about 1,600ft, I believe ... O
  6. I had to google "skeeters" ... coming up empty handed; what the hell are we talking about? Anything cute and cuddly or something scary? (I'm assuming it's an animal of sorts
  7. Tension knots have caused my cutaway on jump # 200. I stow my brakes imediately after landing, but I'm not dilligent about "walking the (steering) lines" ... lesson learned
  8. In other words, nothing has changed in the past year around here . I didn't miss much ... O
  9. Thanks K ... I don't know if I would have shown up as a "clueless city girl", but I would have not accounted for the mountanous region = colder nights. Shame on me for forgetting that, since I grew up high in the Carpatian mountains (Transylvania). Summer days would be beautiful and hot, but nights could be really, really cold ... I can't wait ... is it Saturday yet? (Flying into Spokane to meet up with Cindy and Doc on the 23rd ... 9 days to go!!!!!!!!!) O
  10. BTW ... in spite of all my "preemptive whinning" about the cold, I'm getting really excited about this trip
  11. Why "just for the guys"? Ladies don't drink beer? Or don't need to pee during the cold nights??? O
  12. Did you say "ice"??? I wonder what the refund policies are for Continental Airlines ... I'll stop being a princess ... but I really hate being cold. I guess I'll have to pack a bikini and my snowboarding clothes ... O
  13. No luck on the RV rental ... they only have one unit available for that time ... a 30ft (sleeps 6), for $288/day. I don't think so!!! So, "real camping" it is ... I was told to "put my big girl panties on" and tent like (most) everyone else ... it is part of the experience
  14. Exactly ... but one would have to be bright enough to understand that . Not happening ...
  15. Turkey is great ... I have been there a couple of times. Lots of culture, great food, friendly people. Good luck. O
  16. 10 month vacation? Nice ... I'm jealous
  17. BASE? Don't get any ideas ...
  18. :5:0 Nasty winds on Saturday ... jumpable, but not on a .9 wingloading. I'm overdue for downsizing and I will do so as soon as I get back from LP. Sunday, a couple of RW jumps, a FF jump, a hop 'n pop and a high pull at sunset, which was amazing. I had a hard time staying with the formation, though I was in full flight and everyone else was in half brakes
  19. I'm going with something like this (attached) ... in whichever color we end up choosing; I need the straps to try avoiding falling out. (Arch ... oops ). O
