  4. If only I could But I don't think they would like it .... Perhaps the canadians could arrange a "tower-day" event .... That would be awesome ...
  5. Thanks for that But are any of them easy to get to without a car ???
  6. I've just made it to Toronto and was wondering if anyone can reccomend somewhere to jump ... I also need to hire a rig as my new rig won't be ready for a couple of weeks !!!! I'm only there for a week but it would be nice to "put my knees in the breeze" Especially as I haven't jumped for 4 weeks and its beginning to hurt !!!!
  7. I have been using an FFX from 2K composites with a PC101 ... It is the business ...It has a built in Cam-Eye and it really is as "snag-free" as you can get ... plus it has one of the best paint jobs i've seen .... I cannot reccomend it more ... Ps I have no direct connections with 2K composites other than being a very satisfied customer ...
  8. "I So want to go ..." 1.Have you considered a life of crime ???

  13. I'd just like to thank everyone at Hinton for making my friend who was taking her first Tandem Skydive yesterday feel so welcome ... Because of the encouragement she recieved she is now enroute to South Africa determined to do her AFF course as soon as she can ... It was the highlight of her holiday
  14. I hope it does because I'm having a cameye 2 fitted with my new pc 101 to my new helmet !!! Not sure about the lanc port though (I don't know a lot about these things yet ....)
  15. The weather in london is lousy .... Its cold AND raining... We do have to pay $25 per jump here ... The house sale is going VERY SLOWLY... I've done the same job for 6 years... THE UPSIDE I haven't worked for 2 weeks
  16. Yes, thanks for all those pointers I'm going to print this one out and keep it for future reference.(Hopefully for when I get to this level of competancy !!!)... Cheers guys ....
  17. Weenies of the world unite ... You ARE RIGHT in my opinion (I also have only 70 or so jumps) It is YOUR RISK and it is UP TO YOU to manage the risk to a level that is acceptable TO YOU and no-one else. As I have posted earlier ...It doesn't make you a less safe skydiver ... In fact you are OBVIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT YOUR SAFETY ...a sign perhaps that you aren't some crazy volvo driving cypres using airhead ... See you next time in Perris ...
  18. You have to stay on the ground in the UK if you don't have a hook knife !!!
  19. No, I don't think the post was directed at me ... I don't think I've met many of the postees
  20. No, you're assuming that I expect the jump to be dangerous ... What I am saying (like many others) is that if I can lower the risks associated with almost any type of jump (solo or big-way) then I am happier to lower those risks ... We all accept the element of risk in this sport (else we shouldn't do it) but some prefer to try and ensure that we are as safe as reasonably possible. I guess we will differ on this one ...
  21. "if you wouldn't make a particular jump without a Cypres, you probably shouldn't be doing it with one." What a crock of macho SH*T ... I wouldn't do a jump without my cypres as a rule but it doesn't make me a bad or unsafe jumper .... How can you post such a patronising statement .... ???
  22. My buddy who shall remain nameless landed way off on his level 7 AFF jump and we have the video to prove it !!!! Also he took out two trees with his landing and now has the nickname "the lumberjack"
  23. I know what you mean about this Crap UK weather !!! But you could always head for Empuria on a cheapie flight (a life-saver when the weather is bad!!) or you could head to the FFC if you have the money/time. Or you could quit work and become a DZ bum ... which is my current plan
  24. I have the no cypres, no jump attitude too ... As a newbie I was trained on rigs with cypres, I have always jumped a rig with a cypres and just don't see the point in taking the extra risk in jumping without. I know that most of my friends also are of the same opinion in fact almost all my friends jump with cypres. Having said all that, I am in the fortunate situation of having a rig with a cypres. I know it cost a fair amount but what price your life ??? If I didn't have one and would have to wait months in order to buy one (without jumping) I guess I'd have to think long and hard about it. It's a very interesting point though ....
  25. Weekend numbers .... 7 (the number of hours we waited to get on a lift !!!) I'll know not to bother next time they have a 4-way meet on !!!! 3:1:0 Fantastic weekend ;-) Can't wait to be in the US again ... Only 3 more weeks
