  2. I agree with you Bill a great canopy.Easy to stand up into the wind even at the higher altitudes at Calgary Alberta. No worries at a 2200 ft exit.(sometimes a little lower) The downwind accuracy landings in 15 + mph winds definitely gave you a little tug when you turned on final.Overall a great canopy. One cutaway in 500 jumps. Stand up in the peas with my 26 lopo reserve.
  3. You got that right Bill. No worries about 2200 ft exits. The downwind landings were somtimes a little hard. I remember the garbage loads in the 60's. Usually last load of the day or all day with low ceilings. Team stack everybody out one pass at 2500 ft. Cost $2.00 per jump. Can't remember what I had for breakfast but I can the past good times. 4. There was a blind jumper at the POPS world meet at Chilliwack BC Canada in 1999. I know he was entered in the hit and rock competition I have the video of that event.
  5. The club had a supply of break cord color was military green. (there were some military club members) At that time the S/L was tied at each cone but not routed into the pack and tied to pilot chute. The S/l broke away at each cone but the container stayed closed until I was on the ground. Guess the landing shock of a twill reserve jarred it loose.
  6. Attached photo from late sixties.Taken at Abbotsford BC.JM back to dash.
  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL!!! Don D130
  8. This was really cool in the late sixties.Note Snohomish door and position of JM.State of the art gear too.I made 400+ jumps out of this aircraft and flew it for 500 hours with jumpers. The quality of the photo is not the best. I had to reduce it to upload.
  9. This photo taken in early seventies.Jumpmaster back to dash .Two students kneeling facing JM one with back to pilots seat. The two facing the JM first to exit the one behind pilots seat last and had lots of room to turn around. This is a C180 the seating arrangement same for 182.
  10. Anyone who likes an MGB and jumps round parachutes can't be all bad.
  11. Photo Of Chet Poland and his little dog.Taken at the Canadian Nationals at Abbotsford Parachute Center Abbotsford BC.July 1969.He signed my jump #211.He was POPS #261.During his trip to Abbotsford he stopped at a dropzone in the US.The van tires were so worn the jumpers decided they were unsafe and donated a new set and had them installed on his van.
  12. Thirty years ago it was those damn style jumpers that were going to kill it.
  13. no pilotchute in reserve no cutaway. Hand reserve deployment.Round twill reserve canopy. It was a great sport even back then.
