  1. Thanks for the feedback, I'll take a look at this and see if we can find what is causing the top rated page to display the items incorrectly.
  2. Thanks for your comment on this. I will ammend the Classifieds Guidelines to include a clause that recommends sellers avoid the practice.
  3. While there's no quick fix for this, we are busy working on plans that would make the site much more mobile friendly, including the forums :)
  4. The following scam has been reported: Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled.
  5. Okay, so this is related to the EXIF data on your image. This is usually set in the camera (options like auto-rotating). You can use this to view your EXIF data for your image: http://regex.info/exif.cgi Under the 'Orientation', your image has 'Rotate 180'. While some browsers do not recognize this EXIF field (and hence keep the image the correct way). Some modern browsers know how to interperate this data, and in turn it rotates your image automatically. This is something that is done on the browser level, and is unrelated to Dropzone.com An easy solution would be to do something like open the image, screenshot it and then paste it as a new image. This will remove the EXIF data attached to it.
  6. That is probably the strangest thing I've ever seen. I don't think we do any type of rotation of images... Will look into it and see what's up.
  7. REMINDER The past few pages of this thread have shown several forum rules and guidelines being breached. Remember that there is no valid reason for personal attacks - and any continuation of such will result in discipline being taken, consider this a general warning towards any and all parties that may have been involved in doing so. Secondly, please watch thread drift. Stay on topic within the thread. If you have something not directly related to the topic, that will not be beneficial to the neutral reader, please take it to private messages.
  8. Contributing ;) Here in South Africa it snows a few times a year, but only usually on the higher elevations (freezing level down to 1200m or so). So this past weekend I made a mission through to Ceres, which is about 2 hours drive north and did a bit of snow chasing.

  10. It looks like AOL implemented the same changes as Yahoo did. http://postmaster-blog.aol.com/2014/04/22/aol-mail-updates-dmarc-policy-to-reject/
  11. Thanks, This has been forwarded to the ad department to see what we can do. If possible, if it occurs again please try take and attach a screenshot, which will help us in narrowing down where it's coming from.

    Toyota popup?

We try our best to keep pop-up ads off the site completely. Not only are pop-up ads bad for us and cause people to use adblocks (when we require ads to run the site). But we also want to ensure the best possible user experience, and believe me - pop up ads annoy us all the same. Our ad hosts are the ones who control these ads and sometimes despite our instructions to not serve any, some slip through. When you experience a pop-up ad, please take a screenshot (and if possible, paste source code). And we will then work at getting it removed as soon as we can.
  13. Ahh, okay I see what you're saying. Let me do some testing and I'll see if we can get this resolved. Added: Just tested this, and I found that the error showed correctly. I attempted to attach a 1mb image file to the post, and when I clicked the 'Upload Attachment' button it tried to upload, then redirected back to the post draft, with a warning message at the top. See attachment
  14. Hey, The new photos uploader is independent from the forum file attachments. There has been no changes to the forum's uploader. We've always had a pretty small file requirement for images in the forum. It may be something we up the size on a bit in the future though.
  15. Been meaning to reply to that ;) It could well work. We will take a look at the plugin that handles the functionality and see whether it will be a simple implementation.
  16. Hi, This is not a bug with dropzone.com and instead is related to Yahoo's new DMRC policy which makes it impossible for us to send e-mail through them anymore. The way the classifieds has always worked is that we'd use the user's e-mail address that he signed up with, to send the mail to the seller. This then allows direct communication between the two parties. Yahoo has since however stopped allowing this action. So Yahoo mail users are unable to contact sellers. At least until we manage to redesign our entire e-mail system for the classifieds. We made a public announcement about this a couple of weeks ago: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4640212 The 'weird' e-mails you're getting are different from private messaging contacts. We recently added the ability for users to add comments to ads that are up. This then allows for public communication on a topic, that may be useful to other potential buyers browsing that ad. Buyers and sellers can then leave comments on the item listing for public view. We provide more information on it here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4643862
  17. Not being biased or anything, but Bryn is a pretty cool unisex name ;) {Pronounced 'Brin'} I kid... Don't do it... They will spend their life being called every phonetic variation.
  18. Your images must be huge ;) The file limit was set to 10mb, which is large. But we have increased that size limit now, and resizing should be done automatically now during the upload process.
  19. Didn't think it would work on the iphone! So far as we've established, we think that this is caused by the nature in which uploads were handled during a certain period of time with the upload plugin. Because of this, there are a few users who's profile pictures don't display (because they were submitted during that period). But if they reupload their profile picture now, it should resolve the issue of them not showing.

  21. It is the buyers address that matters. It will still deliver to Yahoo addresses, just not be sent from them. With that said, from what I've read on the matter. It seems to only affect the .com Yahoo domain - so co.uk etc work fine still for now :)
  22. Recently, Yahoo implemented a change in their DMARC policy, which controls how e-mails are sent through their network. This change has blocked third party services from sending mail through the network without DKIM signatures. Essentially what this means is that sites such as dropzone.com, are no longer able to send mail on behalf of a user's e-mail address if that user is with Yahoo. Yahoo mail users, who have their yahoo addresses tied to their dropzone.com accounts may notice an error like this when they try to use a function that sends mail as their e-mail address. At this stage we have only confirmed that this affects classifieds buyers who seek to contact a seller, while using a yahoo.com mail address in the contact form. Using a non-Yahoo address in this form should act as a work-around. We are busy looking at alternatives that would allow us to send the contact messages without needing to pass through Yahoo's DMARC restrictions. https://help.yahoo.com/kb/postmaster/yahoo-dmarc-policy-sln24050.html?impressions=true
  23. That looks horrible! Will follow up with the ad hosts to get it removed ASAP

  25. It's definitely not a deliberate intention and we weren't aware of it until now. We will do some testing and investigate - and seek to resolve any problem that may exist. I haven't actually looked into the forum post counter before so I can't say what method it uses to count, but I'll take a look at it.
