Well I have been slowing down now that I have 3 other tandem instructors and we only have 3 rigs (hurry up RWS). I have a rear delt twinge that just started back up after wrestling with someone at the DZ. My left knee isn't hurting at all but if feels like something is scraping in there at one point. The shoulder is from lifting, the knee from racquetball most likely, but the tandems probably aren't helping recovery. Actually, I think doing tandems is probably one of the nicer things I have done to my body. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

I finished the AFFCC on my 366th jump. It was long before the coach program. I did around 50 practice jumps for it. Best bet is to find a current evaluator to work with. Next best things is an instructor that recently went through the course. Practice up till you feel very comfortable, then go to a precourse. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

Tandem jump. My hopes are to take QueenBee on my 1000th tandem, but between the weather, her sinuses, and our busy days it may not happen. I have been requested by a student this Friday. Maybe we can get the jump in early. Hoping for good weather, Kathy having clear sinuses, and the stars being in whatever alignment they need to be..... The S&TA does have power to suspend ratings for 30 days. I don't know if it has been done. I would not want to do that without prior consultation from my RD, but you never know. As touched on earlier, to have someone work as a coach (without a rating), A waiver must be FILED ahead of time with USPA and a copy to the RD. It is not a blanket 'you can work with him today'. 3000 is the hard deck by USPA. Instructors may give a safety margin to the student and may raise, but not lower the hard deck. There was a push to get the student minimum opening changed to 3k. we use 3.5 as the student hard deck. ON the 5.5 it is for practicing the 3.5. We want to see a stable deployment withing 5 seconds on the 5.5 prior to doing the 3.5 I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

NO!!!!, I got wrapped up in work today. Plus it was feeling really good. Running errands in the truck has brought back a dull ache. Last night was ibuprofen and heat. This question is like when do you feel confident as a jumper. I think many times we feel confident and experienced. Later as we have more experience, we look back and realize how little we knew/know. The longer I am in this sport, the more I realize how little I know about it. You will always continue to learn. If you aren't learning anymore, get out. You should be learning until you die (no pun intended, but if it fits....) I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

If I have you straight, I orginally trained you very quickly for your working tandem and I was actually happy to see the we went on a weather hold and it looked like the TI was training you some more.
