We actually use both. Kathy is nicknamed the Japanese Tourist and takes a lot of ground shots. She is the one that started Shutterfly and the DZ paid for it. I was shorthanded for video so I set up a video rig once again and I joined in. Now they have it set up where you now what picture was bought and who shot it. To answer the original question, we do both. We have a photo printer at the DZ (not the best, but does well) and then we also do shutterfly. The student pictures seem to do better on SF then fun jumpers. The fun jumpers want them now. We still put them up there and occasionally a fun jumper will have a relative buy something. I agree with you. That is why we have a 300 down to a 150 for students. The 150 would not have worked here. We used a rig a little below a 1:1 loading. We are a 182 DZ and have multiple sized rigs and conpies. She was not an easy fit to a rig and that makes it more difficult. Wingloading is still more important than comfort. We put out great, skilled, and knowledgeable A-licensed jumpers. I would assume some of these observations are what aided you in your decisions. Check with your Doctor and with the Flight physician. You may be fine doing tandems, but they do take a toll on your body. If you have some problems already, that could make it much worse. Probably didn't help much, but there is my 2 cents. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

As people have already jumped in, I will elaborate a bit. Amber can further describe her size if she wishes. We were trying to keep a happy medium between a good rig fit (3 rings properly positioned) vs. leg straps being too tight and out of position. The rig she jumped is a Vector 2 student rig, Navigator, and PD reserve with less than 100 jumps on the system. The next jump, we will shorten the MLW and deal with the leg straps. We have Navigator 300, 240, 200, Sabre 2 190, 170 and a Spectre 150. This isn't a bad range for a 182 DZ. I still want more though.
