We do have a Court Order outlining Visitation Rights; I had this done when I petitioned the court to legitimize my daughter soon after she was born. This court order States that I get her at 3:00 PM on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The distance thing is what is driving this. My Ex Lives 60 Miles away. He new Hubbys Family Lives 40 Miles away. My Ex feels that my daughter is spending too much time traveling on Major Holiday, I don’t disagree with this. What I disagree with it that she feels that My family is the one that gets cut out of the picture to fix something that we have been doing for 11 years. Her Mother is completely unwilling to even discuss alternating holidays. I would be willing to discuss alternating Holidays but that is not an option with her. I have been trying that angle for weeks. It finally got down to "Forget it, you wont get her at all then" from her. Which puts me in the position of accept her terms or go after her for contempt. Bad situation for my daughter to be put in. Fortunately I think she is still unaware of the problem. I don’t want to do anything that is not in my daughters best interest but part of me really thinks I need set an example by standing up for what is right - While the other side only wants to make things easy and peaceful for my daughter.

I know there are several other single parents on here and I would like to get some unbiased opinions from both Mothers and Fathers to see if I am perhaps over reacting to a situation... I have an 11 year old Daughter. Her Mother and I were never Married and split up before she was born. Right after she was born, I filed a Petition to Legitimize and asked that the Court set Child Support and Visitation. For the past 11 years, I have spent almost every weekend with my daughter and I have never been late with a Child Support Payment. We have a slightly different arrangement for Holidays, She gets our daughter Until 3:00 PM and I pick her then and she spends the rest of the day with me and my family. Here is the Problem.. My Ex just got Married a few months ago to a guy she has been dating for 7 years. Now she feels that our splitting Holidays is too much for our daughter because there are now 3 families to deal with, So she wants me to drop spending Holidays with her completely. No, she said she is not willing to alternate; she just wants me to drop seeing her altogether on the actual Holidays. The Holidays we are talking about are Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. She says I can just get her the next day instead. Uhhh.. I have a problem with this. This is not acceptable to me. She is unwilling to bend on this. At this point my options will be to lawyers involved again and go after her for Contempt of Court. I don’t like this Idea either because I really don’t want to put my daughter through the problems and Hostilities that are sure to follow. My primary concern is what ever is best for my daughter. Should I fight for what is Right (and somewhat selfish in this case) or allow this to happen to provide a more peaceful and stable environment for her. Soon as I get the Lawyers involved again, all chances of a peaceful life go down the tubes for a few years.

I worked my way through College DJ`ing Strip Clubs. Best Money I have ever made but dealing with the Dancers was not worth it. I would make $300 to $400 a night Tax Free and somehow always be broke. Hard to save money when you know that you are going to get more tomorrow. The biggest problem with that job is putting up with the Stripper mentality. A large majority of the dancers are Chaos Mongers who are not happy unless they are engulfed in Drama at all times and they will do anything they can to make you part of their Crisis of the moment. This is based off 5 years experience working in 10 different Strip Clubs. Trust me, It may be fun the first few times but it can wreak havoc in your personal life

I did the same thing on my Level 5. At 6000 ft My Instructor gave me the legs Out signal. I only saw one finger and interpreted it as the Pull Now Signal. I didnt question it, I just pulled. Right about the time the bag left my back I remeber realizing Oh Shit!! That was two fingers.. OOoops.

I once got stuck at an all day concert when Nature called in the worst sort of way and was forced to use one of the Pot-o-Johns. As I am standing up, my wallet falls out of my back pocket and right into the muck. I just stood there for about 5 minutes trying to decide if it was worth it or not.. About $60 in the wallet, Drivers License.. Not much else. I could see it floating in the Nice Blue and Brown Muck. Finally said no way and left it. How much cash would have had to be in it for you to reach in and get it?

After I made my first Jump, My Father was with me and he had made his first jump right before me. Soon as I landed, I started saying how that was better than Sex!! Pops looked at me and said, "Son, If that was better than sex, you aint doing it right!!"

I can definitely relate to what you are saying. I spent the weekend gong to new DZ`s in my area to see what they were like. The first DZ I went to, I hung out in the packing area for about 3 hours while the DZO was trying to help me get a problem solved involving my Log Book. Unfortunately, I didn’t meet a single person (other than the DZO who I had called before I showed up). I am sure I was just as much to blame because I am somewhat shy in a new environment and of course the Jumpers were busy doing what they were there for, Jumping. So, I left and went to another DZ. There I ran into a Jumper from my DZ but still never met a single person from that DZ. I think the bigger and Busier the DZ is; the harder it is to meet people. Especially if you don’t know anyone there. The DZ I call home is relatively small and I couldn’t imagine someone standing around for more than a few minutes without having been introduced to everyone there.

The fact that I even noticed that tells me that I have let my Girlfriend force me to watch way too damn many of those stupid home improvement shows.. I feel so ashamed..

After setting what has to be a new record for the longest time ever to complete AFF, I finally graduated a few weeks ago. Great!! Now I am cleared for Solo which means I can afford to jump.... I show up at the DZ the next weekend and I am greeted by a very disappointing sight!! There is a Padlock on the gate. It seems that the DZ has been shut down (temporarily we hope) thanks to some false allegations and Airport Politics. That was 3 weeks ago. The DZO is busting his ass trying to it reopened but it will be a little while longer before we know. So now I am faced with a dilemma. Should I just try to wait it out and see if the DZ gets reopened (we should know something in another week or two) or try one of the other DZ`s in the area. Being that I am still on student status and have been jumping ripcord rigs up till now (the other DZ`s in the area use Hand Deploy Rigs) I will have redo training on their equipment and I am sure they will want to display some proficiency before they let me Solo (Read added costs) or just save my money and jump my ass off if/when my DZ gets reopened? Is it better to stay current or stick with the same instructors/program you started with?
