  1. At least they are complying with the ruling about displaying a link to their terms and conditions on the "home" page. Of course the link is white text over a white background. At least blind people with screen-readers will know about the slime (or you can do a 'select-all' and probably see it). 9. Are you kidding here? No love-fest for this situation. Am I wrong or isn't this like the 4th person to come on dz.com in the last 4 months and throw out a story like this? Others included themes such as: I really wanna jump; I can't afford it; My life is a mess; I don't want to work manifest; I don't want to buy a rake; I'm only 16; My mom said NO; I'm not a troll; SCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)

  16. Maybe they could just toss a PDF on their spiffy new site and let us print our own. SCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)
  17. You assume that they were seen during the track. It isn't the person that you see who will kill you, it is the person that you don't see. The wave off helps you see the jumper before they deploy if you didn't already see them. Of course, If you already saw them...what the hell are you doing above them?!
  18. That's good to know. SCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)
  19. For the same reason as with spaceballs, they could cause damage or injure someone on the ground if he doesn't catch them in freefall. Do you want a frozen nut hitting you at 100+mph? Over and above SIM requirements? Are you thinking along the lines of changing or editing license requirements for licenses B though D? The advanced license proficiency card wouldn't be for making license applications to the USPA. It would, however, serve as a tangible way for the jumper to track their progress toward their goal (each license) and help them keep track of any outstanding skills/requirements. The SIM requirements are just minimums for earning each license. A proficiency card would be aimed at continued jumper education by showing a series of progressions toward each one of the "minimums" currently in the SIM. This might be similar to the ISP category skills (SIM Section 4.1 "Skill and Knowledge Sets") in a checklist/definition format. An advanced license proficiency card is just a way to have that visual reminder of how to reach your next skydiving goal. 23. Has anybody seen Kyle since Halloween? I hope he didn't run off into the woods with the Golden Retriever. Where Kyle go? SCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)
  24. Really? Are you sure about this? If so, color me surprised. SCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)
  25. So here's what prompted the question. I was watching a video shot recently by a medium-low-timer. On deployment there were about 2-1/2 revolutions of line twists. The camera shows the jumper watching the line twists while getting out of them, then watching slider while collapsing it, then watching hands go into toggles, popping toggles, then a glance toward the altimeter, then a look forward, a look to the left, then a left turn. I started thinking about this and realized that the jumper probably didn't keep track of the other two jumpers in their group while dealing with the line twists. It seemed like the post-opening routine must have been habit formed over time. Thanks for the information on what you guys actually do after opening. I feel as confident as ever about my own routine.
