  1. thank you kind sir! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  2. If you ever want to do BASE HUCK (or skydive HUCK) in the US, PLEASE go and sign this petition. This would also eliminate the ability to D-Bag a paraglider or speedwing from a tandem set up. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/tandem/ Sign it and get a hold of Flystyle if you want to DO IT! Thanks! PS, We are looking for USHPA members (please put your USHPA #, but if not a member you may still sign it showing your support and interest in the sport). www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  3. This is a very urgent issue. I have not been able to reach him. I hope he is ok, just wondering if anyone has seen or talked to Jonathan McCann, a skydiver from Alabama recently!??? Last I hear he is in Lake Tahoe working as ski instructor. It is very important I reach him immediately. I am worried because he is not responding and I know he just got a 10m speedwing. TIA for any help. www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.

  7. Let's hope this weather clears up!!!!! I am all ready to drive up from Portland tomorrow with my second cousin, Crystal. When I told her about the event she was immediately drawn towards making her first jump. You see, her mother passed about 10 years ago from Lupus. I just started skydiving about a year ago and Crystal's thought I was crazy ever since. When I told her about this fundraiser, she thought it was sooo cool and said she did not want to miss it. While at the LP Boogie last week I ran into a very nice fellow wearing a Leap for Lupus shirt and just had to inquire. I bought a handfull of raffle tickets and said 'see you there!" Soooooo please join me in sending many Blue Sky wishes for tomorrow! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  8. A buddy and I were going to Pacific City, OR this Sunday (5/17/09) for some fun in the sun! He had to bail. Anyone else interested in meeting there? It's suppose to be a beautiful sunny day and temp will be perfect. Only thing is, the wind looks pretty calm. Anyhow, hit me up if you're interested. -Justin www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  9. Wow man, that's absolutely incredible! Enjoy life! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  10. Thanks yo! I think he might either ship the canopy and container seperate, or send it to me "for repair" :-) www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  11. Haha! Nice EvilEagle... Yeah, I'm selling my track gixxer750 and continuing jumping my ass off! :-) Keeping the street gixxer750 though.... Seriously, if $$$ is the decision factor, get a bike and learn to ride it. Keep your ass off the pavement long enough to where you can spend rediculous amounts of money on skydiving and skydive gear. Cause once you start you'll be hooked and the more often you go, the quicker you'll progress... Just my 0.02, good luck with the decision! www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  12. I am purchasing a rig from a guy in Moscow, we're having major issues getting it through Russian customs. They value the rig with all new componants, when it's not. I guess there is some law that states you can not export over a certain value amount unless you have some sort of Russian business license. Anyhow, he's going down to customs tomorrow for a 3rd try. But we're running out of tijme because he's leaving the country and can't take it with him in about 10 days. If anyone has any advice on how to get this through customs I would greatly appreciate it. OR if you will be traveling from Moscow to the States anytime soon and wouldn't mind helping me get this rig, I would be stoked and much beer would be owed! :-) Thanks, Justin www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  13. I appreciate all the help guys! I'm getting a bit frustrated with my situation though. I am having trouble getting them to agree to help me with moving expenses. The facility manager wants to hire local, but the guy that's in charge of hiring, wants me. Hopefully it all works out, because I have been preparing my mind for this move, started packing and just trying to line things up so I am somewhat organized. The pay is a little less, supposedly the cost of living there is less, and the opportunity would be HUGE. So there's a lot of things for me to consider. I planned on moving all my shit which would mean a U-Haul and trailer for my awd vehicle, couple nights in a hotel, gas, food, and maybe a week in a hotel till I find a place to live there. If I can't get any help for these expenses, I might tell them to bugger off. www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  14. I ride motorcycle so all this deer and gator talk is making me a little nervous haha... www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
  15. Thanks everyone! I think I will be accepting the offer today....I think. Just need to nail down some of the specifics, like how much for moving assistance, salary, etc... They low balled me a bit and said the cost of living is less there. From the limited research I've done, it looks pretty close to Portland. So, hopefully they come up a bit. If not, I will most likely still take it...The opportunity for growth is huge! That, and I think it fits me a little better. I will be leaving a Strucutral Design position (of 8 years) and starting a Site Safety Coordinator position for a large (94 acre) job site where modular steel structures are designed and fabricated. Is it really that hot? I lived in Phoenix for 2 years, and that was fookin HOT! Most places have AC I assume. So how's the traffic? www.theflystyle.com "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be." -L.D.
