  1. Pin (new shirt pins work great) the patch in place where you want it. When you get your thread and needles it'd be wise to get a thimble as well.
  2. Anus of Uranus, he's a friend of mine. A first rate party, and a real fine time. KLAATU -
  3. A major concern should also be how securely your arm is attached. If someone were to give it a good yank, is it possible the prosthetic could come off or rotate out of position? I ask this because i'm the DF that lost his leg last summer. I'm a BK.
  4. Can't tell you the song, but I believe the band is Scorpion
  5. Actually, the jumper should be tasked with timing their exit so that any prosthetics that might fall off in free-fall also land on target as well them under canopy.*** I tried that once. As you may have heard, it didn't work out too well. Was that you? I read about that. Did you find it? I'm an AK, so I wear supplemental suspension, plus the leg strap helps too. I was surprised when I saw my first POE in 2006 at Perris, and didn't see parts flying all over the place... That was me! The whole situation was sad, but fucking hilarious. I'm just waiting on the next POE reunion. Maybe if we all bring extra parts, we can have our own little flea market.

  7. That is fucking sick! But at least I know who the Elephant Mans mother is.
  8. My handles are about the same as yours except i don't pull my slider down. Never found it comfortable.
  9. The canopy belongs to a different jumper. The pic posted doesn't show you the whole ad. You wouldn't do CRW w/ full face helmet, wrist mounted altimeter or a RW suit w/booties.
  10. With all the posts regarding "loose chest straps", I thought that this pic was a good example of where your handles may wind up, both now and if you were under canopy, had a fully loosened chest strap and needed to cutaway for some reason. It's also a good pic to check out to see if there's anything else that "just doesn't look right" to you. Use as a "cause and effect" learning tool. I should've been more clear on what I was trying to convey.(?)
  11. Go to Rimfire Central.com. You'll find a lot of help there.
  12. 2008-09 Para-Gear catalog pg 124. Ad for FreeZR helmet. I don't know how tight his rig was before exiting. His leg straps look loose too. The pic gives an idea of where your handles could be.
  13. Your reason for this is.....what?
  14. Dan, IIRC the Ranch uses navigator canopies for students. This should also give you incentive to know exactly what kind of gear it is that you're jumping. Kentucky
  15. My first Talon T7 came with a both main and reserve sizes of 225 sq ft. My Talon FS T6 has 193 reserve and i've had my Sabre2 210 in it as well. You shouldn't have any problems. Kentucky
  16. I still have the tib/fib. Thanks for the other info.
  17. Definately getting a foot. Been doing some reading on POE and have already sent a pm out to Mike.
  18. Hey all, Had my left foot crushed at work, 11/21/07. Wound up with it being amputated thru the ankle 2 weeks ago. This had been my first 'hundred jump season' since 2002, but my goal this year was to reach 500 jumps before the season was over here in NY and i'm happy to haved reached it. No idea when i'll be getting back in the air, but i'm looking forward to it already.
  19. I've got an HC-36 which also has no lanc port. Nor does it have an external record indicator. I turn it on before putting my helmet on just before exit. It does work.
  20. FWIW, if someone has a profile that they won't or refuse to fill out and things seem a little sketchy, I'd pass right on by. That's just my buying principle. And I wouldn't go by just their profile. YMMV.
  21. Hey Genn! I'll be bringing my newest Skydivers Dilemma. See Ya!
  22. It's happening this coming weekend Mar 31-Apr1 at The Ranch (NY). If you haven't attended Safety Day yet, or just want to attend another one, now is the time. I believe Sky's The Limit (PA) is also having their Safety Day this weekend.
  23. Go to the Gear section and check out the reviews.
  24. They're running the entire series this weekend as a marathon. Check your listings.
