  1. Maybe this? When I was in the 4th grade (1969), we had a round parachute that all the kids spread out holding the outside edge. On the count of 3, we all raised the chute as high and as fast as we could, stepped underneath it, and then sat down while holding the edge behind us. That, was cool! We called it the 'Jiffy Pop'.
  2. Interesting! (I didn't see that post when searching before making my post, and still can't find it.) It was posted on the PIA rigging forum.
  3. It could have been either of those scenarios or one of a few others reasons. I could have been told and just plain forgot.
  4. DO NOT "just pull" the reserve pin. One question I didn't ask as a student. How is the reserve deployed? I quickly found out when the spring loaded pilot chute slammed me in the face.

Has anyone had to use paid 'people finder' site? Did you have any luck? I need to find a nephew to settle an estate. His LKA was Modesto, CA. That was somewhere around 2002 ?
  7. Since your profile is empty, I can't answer you. But these questions must be asked of people who have the knowledge to answer them. And I don't have the answers, only the questions. 1) Is it required that the rigger actually check the DOM of an AAD on each repack? Or do they go by what's on the data card? 2) Who is responsible for putting the DOM of the AAD on the data card? The rigger or someone else? Now a question for you. Evidently, you trusted this rigger with both yours and your wifes gear for some time. I would think that they would have kept an eye out for expirations on anything that would have come about. DON'T YOU?
  8. If that is a finished product shown in that picture, then shame on VIGIL. That's just poor quality. How a machine shop let that out their door is beyond belief. I can see someone getting their finger or whatever else ripped open on that burr and leaking blood all over the place.
  9. Para-Gear. I've got 1 CRW and 2 sizes of RW.
  10. Just did that. Watching the video just showed me where the real problem lies.
  11. Trying to do leg turns, but i'm having a hard time in dropping the leg without bending at the waist, which is throwing me all over the place. Any ideas?
  12. I've had it since I was a child. Carbidopa/Levidopa was prescribed by a neurologist some years ago. It worked, but it wasn't something I wanted to keep taking. Can't remember why though. Since I'm a back sleeper, when the legs start jumping, it helps for me to roll on my side and bring one leg up to my chest. It works most of the time. RLS is a lot more common than one might think.
  13. I got your pm. Maybe Shermanator had meant to pm you. That's what I replied to.
  14. Cracked a rib on hard opening. Also had blown out right end cell. May have briefly lost consciousness. Minor bruising. Didn't jump again for 5 weeks. Kentucky
  15. If that's an option they offer, I might just take them up on it. Otherwise, I decided to rent a car. If anyone else needs a ride around the same time, I'm arriving on Southwest Flt 1764H @ 7:20pm. Just keep calling out Kentucky. You're sure to attract attention. Just may not be the kind you're looking for.
  16. UPDATE! just received the container today.
  17. Looking for a ride or info on how i'm gonna get myself from Ontario airport to Perris on Sat 4/15. Due to arrive 745pm. Return trip is on Tue 4/25. Will be happy to provide cash, gas or beer (yum)
  18. Double check the "Events" page. It's on there as I write this.
  19. I'm doing the P3 camp 4/19-23 and arriving on the 15th. Do I need to register for the 2 way? Thanks
  20. Gotcha. Guess I'll have to resort to "Is this thing on?"
  21. "Power Of The Blues" has been in my car cd player for the last 2 months. Sometimes you just can't get enough. Patiently waiting for a US tour.
  22. Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure what I would use for sighting once it's on a helmet, but a paper circle on goggles seems to be enough for intended uses. Scott
