  1. Anyone have any experience with this model? Picked it up @ Best Buy for $275. Open box. It'll mostly be used for filming landings, crazy antics on no jump days and eventually for helmet mount jumps.
  2. Drew, congrats to both you and Thereza. I'd send you a gift, but nobody has taken up "that thing you do". Wish you both the best. Kentucky
  3. Two years ago I had a mid air collision that resulted in multiple injuries. One of which was a fractured left shoulder. Mobility was limited and very painful. I needed to know that I would be able to jump again and decided that the tunnel would be the best/safest place to find out. So last year I spent an hour in the tunnel and everything worked out as well as I could've hoped for. What a relief. Going to the tunnel was one of the smarter things I've done. For me, any serious injuries require some major time off to heal. Nothing worse than reinjuring something that still hurts or isn't fully healed.
  4. Thanks everyone. I'll keep you updated on my Talon FS. It hasn't been 'cut' as of yet. Possibly a week or so before it does.
  5. Normal process. I should've been more clear.
  6. I'm sure this will vary. But..... how long does it take a MFR to build a container once it is "cut"? This would be based a standard H/C with all parts/materials already in house.
  7. Try rinsing your razor under cold water after each stroke, and on your face when you're finished. The cold water will help constrict the blood vessels.
  8. I have to agree. I bought a demo canopy that had apparently never been used as such (or at all). Everytime a mfr rep see's it, they tend to stare. Only one has ever asked about it. And I'm not CRAZY, just STRANGE.
  9. Two fireman are butt f**king in a smoke filled room. The chief walks in and says "what the hell are you doing". One fireman says "sir, this man suffers from smoke inhalation". Chief says "why don't you give him mouth to mouth". Other fireman says "how do you think this shit got started?"
  10. Has anyone been there, done that? If so, what are your thoughts on it? I'm thinking of going to the April camp. Thanks.
  11. If you had started a "Bounce Bingo", you could have really raked in the dough. Kentucky
  12. I have probably 200 jumps on my Turbo ZX. I had 1 hard opening (I mean REALLY hard) to which I attribute to my packing. Landing it, has never been easy for me. Using front risers is next to impossible.
  13. Thanks GravityGirl. That is a great answer.
  14. I've noticed that some mfr's use different types of measurements. Some use torso, some use girth, some use both and then some don't use either. I'm about to order a Talon FS, and noticed a difference in the way RI measures compared to others. Does anyone know if these differences, make a difference?
  15. Here's another website you might try. The Ranger Station.com
  16. The easiest thing to do is take a spray bottle of water and while the vehicle is running, spray the coil, distributor cap, plug wires (especially at night) and any other electrical gizmo you can find and see if there is a noticible change. Could also be ignition control module. If you haven't had diagnostic codes checked yet, go to Advanced Auto, Autozone, Pepboys or whoever is in your area and let them check them for you. This can be done on or off the vehicle. Your TPS is adjustable, so if you didn't mark where the old one was set and the new one didn't go in exactly the same place, it could be out of adjustment. You can find out alot more info at Ford-Trucks.com. I have dealt with the same problems on more than one ford, so hopefully this can be of help. P.S. The amount of info that you post here is unbelievable to say the least. Not to paraphrase, but, " I wonder how many incidents from gear/safety issues have been avoided thanks to HOOKNSWOOP". Thanks!
  17. ***but my first reaction is never to be on the plane with you.*** That's my safety plan!
  18. Mike, I agree 100%. It's seems we're all wasting our breath on this (what now may be a troll) issue. It just does not seem to be getting thru to the person involved. No matter though, he probably won't be very welcome anywhere he goes to jump. Mr. Big may be paying him a visit.
  19. If you're so concerned that someone is tampering with your rig,............ 1) why do still plan to come to the ranch???? 2) don't leave your rig unattended!!!!! packed or not. 3) are you thinking of packing your own malfunction, and then trying to blame someone else????? Let's hope not!!!!
  20. What in the world are you doing there already???????
  21. Jumping w/o insurance is very risky. But so is this sport that we all love. It's a chance we're all too willing to take. Thankfully i had insurance to cover my April accident (skydiving). My 9 day stay in the hospital totaled $73k. That's for the hospital alone, and other bills are still coming in. I may have to stop jumping as it is, but without insurance, I'd more than likely stop altogether.
  22. How about Homeowners/Renters insurance?
  23. Thanks, I needed the good news.
