  1. Thanks! I don't know why I haven't tried that already.
  2. Bought the Google Chromecast for 35bucks and now I'm watching my Youtube skydiving videos on my tv. It's really nice to be able to show others my videos on the big screen. The only thing is the videos are only filling up part of the screen. I'm wondering what I have to do to fill up the entire screen like some of the more professional skydiving vids on YouTube. Do I have to use the 1080 setting on my go pro?
  3. There goes all the news that's fit to print (and more) All we have now is a coffee table magazine.
  4. Uh, I got a great deal? Actually I bought it from a guy on dz.com. there was a misunderstanding about the model and blah, blah, blah. Shit happens. Just looking to see how some other jumpers deal with it.
  5. That works great if there's an indicator light in the front. The Hc-28 has the standby light in the back and there is no record light at all.
  6. Have you ever missed any videos? I'm just getting used to the camera and I missed out on 3 videos yesterday because I must have pushed the switch a little to far and the camera went from standby to play edit. I'm thinking now I should take the helmet off to put the camera in standby and then hit record and put the helmet back on. That only takes about 30 seconds. Maybe right when the door opens.
  7. I'm looking for other jumpers who are using Sony Video cameras that don't have a Lanc port. I know there are plenty of them. I too am one of the lancless wonders. So far my success has been questionable. I'd just like to talk technique with others. Larry
  8. I bought an HC-28 off a guy on dz.com. It's a long story, but now I realize that it doesn't have a lanc port and I wouldn't have any apparent way of knowing when it's recording. I'm wondering if it's worth even trying to use for skydiving. Anybody have an input on this? Thanks, Larry "You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose. But you can't roll your friends into little balls and throw them away"

    Vortex

I'm convinced that the Vortex is one of the best rigs on the market. It looks great and holds up really well.Another thing that really impressed me is the follow up service from Louie T. the U.S. distributer. He's just a phone call away if I need advice or even spare parts. He's always ready to help.
  10. We had very strict rules about drinking at the Herd Boogies. The rule was "No beer on the airplane. And no throwing your empties out the tailgate."
  11. Okay, I'm the guilty party here. I just want everybody to know I feel really bad about this. Yes, we were packing up to drive out to Rantoul. We had a huge amount of stuff. This guy called and said he was interested in the helmet, which was brand new and we only had one of. I told him we were be bringing it out and I even wrote his name on a slip of paper. I told my co-worker that a guy called who was interested in the helmet and that was that. I felt terrible when he showed up and the helmet was already sold. I never saw it go. We bent over backward to give everybody good service. I guess we failed that time. But I think 99 percent of the jumpers had a positive experience with us.
