  1. My personal experience : I started with a tandem jump. I liked it so much, I did 2 more. I originally thought that skydiving as a hobby was out of my league, but with every tandem, I grew more and more confident that I could skydive on my own one day. My T.I. encouraged me to take the S/L course and fly and land a canopy by myself at least once to see if I could do it. After all, at my DZ, you get a discounted FJC after 3 tandems, so for $80 it was well worth it. After that first S/L jump, I landed and realized that becoming a licensed skydiver was actually attainble. Because I had tasted the thrill of freefall on 3 previous tandems, I was so determined to finish S/L and get in the air for solo freefall and it was all I could think about. Now, my progression continues and I love every minute of it to this very day. So, in my particular case, the tandem option was perfect. 2. I'm not saying i'll accept advertising fees, but . . . . . . btw this fugozzie person is not a happy camper. you should tend to their needs. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  3. One of my personal favourites for those rainy days is the critically acclaimed and rivotting classic "AIRGAZMIC". What a nail biter ending. I can't wait for the sequel !!! If anyone is interested in a copy, try PMing NICOLE SHERIDAN. She might be able to hook you up. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  4. Ryan - this is not MSN. Complete english works a lot better in the forums. Your packing has been rusty all year. You should be practicing at home all winter for the upcoming summer. Lets try and get those pack jobs down to 30 minutes. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  5. me say - its nice to have lots of money You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.

  7. I believe neither. Perhaps the term "GROUND LAUNCHING" has just been redifined. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  8. I understand. And I agree that we should maintain a community mentality on here and be mindful of each other. I guess if the person is serious about buying gear, they should be able to provide a reputable reference to back up their claims of experience. As for the manufacturers, I thought they do not sell HP canopies without reference? Im not sure here, but I don't believe any Joe Blow can call them up and order a sub-100 canopy. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  9. ok - just asking, don't chew me out . . . if i am selling gear (in the future), it is my responsibility if the person I sold my gear to, femurs or even dies? I am having trouble wrapping my mind around this. Yossarian makes a good point, but I venture to take it one step further. I am selling a product, they are interested in paying me for it. I fail to see where my responsibility lies in all of this. But, I haven't been around for long and I have yet to be in a position as the seller. I would love to hear some responses to this with an open mind. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  10. Yes its true, our heads flop when we speak. But all Americans are fat asses right? Thats why you all fly such big canopies? You're still loading them at 2.0 no? You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  11. you say that as if its a bad thing? I believe it was a compliment . You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  12. Too bad warm weather at this time of year means means lots of MUD !! I had fun at PST on Sunday anyhow. The pilot seems to have perfected the 3X3 offroading with the 206 !!! You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  13. Strat - I don't mean to keep blowing sunshine and happiness up your ass, but if you ever come up to STI, you'll be treated to more than just a round !! I don't recall if I mentioned this before, but I've taken at least 3 or 4 of your pics recently. You have posted some amazing pics. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  14. I fail to see the humour in this. This was a serious study conducted up here in Canada using taxpayers hard earned dollars. The findings are extremely valuable. I own a copy of the extended documentary that includes the spider that quits building webs altogether and moves to a trailer park. For a better insight into Canada, please click HERE *** i understand that this may initiate a barrage of jokes against Canada. I don't mind. 15. Thats a BADASS pic . . . yoink! You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  16. Strato, just so you know, every time you post a big jpg (view north) with great scenery like that, I am taking that shit and storing it for windows backgrounds. Sorry, just had to get that off my conscience. You take great pics. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  17. rob, do you have any opinions on why the new vector main trays are so bulky? In comparison to something like a Jav for instance? You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  18. *** because their instructors just assumed that they new what a left hand pattern was when they said left hand pattern. they didn't explain it. some instructors ask, "do you understand what a left hand patter is?" and the student says "yes". ---end of story. what the instructor should have said was, "show me how to do a left hand landing pattern on this piece of paper". that way when they got it wrong the instructor could correct them. the student had in there mind that "left hand pattern" meant you were to the left of your landing area.....
  19. I like the Jav overall, but it could definitely use some secondary main riser covers. Seems the reserve tray and the riser covers don't quite merge tightly and it always leaves a bit of exposure to the risers and toggles. Not something you want to see when you freefly often. Not a big deal though and easily fixed by the mfr if they wanted to. Also, not a big fan of the location of the closiing loop. Edit : While I love everything that Relative Workshop or UPT are doing in terms of safety and innovation, something they clearly lead the market in, no doubt. When it comes down to looks, they just don't cut it. The new vectors are way too bulky in the lower half of the container. Jav's and Infinity's are frontrunners in the aesthetics department. Perhaps they can trade some design features for the skyhook patent ?? Maybe the magnetic riser covers as well ?? Just a thought. 20. I'm adding this one just for being "different". Not even sure what kind of canopy this is, can anyone help? The jumper is Russian, so this one may be foreign. Either way, somehow I don't think this canopy has a twin out there . . . You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  21. Hmmm...I think you would need the gloves for the toggle work the most? Or was the "Ha" at the end sort of your way of indicating sarcasm? Cause around here its [sarcasm][/sarcasm]. In the worst case scenario, you'd rip the gloves off to handle a mal or something but anyone who has ever jumped in winter (and I mean real winter, not 30F-40F), knows that you can't work toggles without gloves!!!! Anyhow, I always wondered about those neoprene gloves, I should give them a try, after all, Walmart lets you return anything. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  22. Bringing this thread back from the dead . . . Anyone else tried the latex gloves under normal gloves ?? It sounds right because latex doesn't breathe, but where I jump, you need to be certain that the gloves will work. Ive tried the rubber dipped work gloves and they are fine until you get well under 10F and then the rubber freezes in freefall and works as a refrigerator for the hands. I wonder if its cold enough, will the latex have a similar effect, even though its under another glove? Any comments ?? You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  23. Honestly, last night I was at a friends house and they were showing me their "aquarium". Let me tell you how easy it is to spend $5000 bucks on fish !!! Not knocking anyone else's hobbies or sports/activities, but I think I will gladly stick to skydiving. The cost of this sport may be a bit high, but who the hell has as much fun as we do ?? I think its all relative and you get what you pay for. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  24. Good call . . . it goes back to the skydiving has turned into a fashion show point made in a previous thread. You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
  25. Oh you helped alright . . . got any more of those two "sans goofy guy in the middle" ??? You think you understand the situation, but what you don't understand, is that the situation just changed.
