  1. In essence, what you've said is that "you can only believe in it if you want to." Well, of course that's true. And you probably have some pretty good reasons for wanting to believe in it... apparently those beliefs help you control a drug addiction you couldn't control on your own. But you can't go "promising" other people that their willingness (or desire) to believe will "make things true" for them too. Unfortunately you still have bitterness, you still believe that you deserve life. Until you truly understand you deserve exactly the opposite, the bitterness, blame, and pride will keep you from God. My dependancies went beyond drugs and alcohol, I was dependant upon sin for satisfaction. I had no idea that Jesus would heal my outside as well as the inside, but surer than I am real, he did. He talks about this many times in the Gospel, and the words he spoke did not make it so in my life, it was the spirit he gave that cleansed my insides first and set me free, and in that freedom the rest of my desires followed. 2. This ends up with the same dilemma - if the God does not want pedophiles, why would he created the people the way that some of them could make this choice? I had to look those words up. I have heard them before several times, but didnt quite know what they meant. I guess they are interesting definitions so that people can put a grasp on God. Me personally, I believe that is a good definition, but thats about it. I like to imagine God as the supreme miracle, the actual spirit of Life. Existing with the power of a miracle in every miraculous moment. Power beyond Power, the absolute birth of Power...see, you cant really define him, he reveals himself and his beautiful qualities to our hearts. I could try and define him to you, but I dont think you would understand...as words would never be able to. The closest I can get is the human definition of Love, to the very depth of what it reveals. Love seems to be the only thing that I can define him with in some way. Love is empowering on sooooooo many levels. No, that is what you think perfection is. Maybe it is that we would only choose the right choices? The bible talks a bit about perfection. Jesus calls us to be perfect as God is perfect and James says again that a perfect man is one whos words do not condemn him. That is, judgment against another for the things you yourself are guilty for. False testimony ect... I believe that Jesus is the perfect example of perfect love, and so I follow him with all my heart. Why would God give us an example of anything else? He knows we wont attain it here, but, he knows the life we find and feel as we desire to attain it is just what we want. We all fail, and none of us are perfect like God, that is why we need him. Ok, one thing the pharisees could not see is there own guilt. Guilt remains because we truly cannot see it. If you feel guilty about something, you know its there, but there is a guilt that stains the soul, that after time gets hidden but doesnt go away. This invisible guilt will find blame and bitterness, the two greatest ememys of peace. Guilt hides, just like blame and just like bitterness. Its why people need physcologists these days and they go back to old childhood memories ect... Or why some people NEVER SEE their own fault within destruction of a relationship. Both sides carry blame for the other, but fail to see their own. Truth is about seeing your fault, blame, and guilt, and it is the beginning of peace. Jesus says the truth will set you free, and I can testify to its power and peace. It literally is when the Lie meets the Truth. You now have my word. And if you donate me $100, you'll be in heaven. How'd you know the God is invisible? Because I cannot see him with my eyes, I see him with my heart, and that, allows me to see him in everything. It is similar to when someone comes into the room and you just know something is wrong, but you dont know what it is unless it is revealed to you. Or even worse, when you dont know something is wrong and it is later revealed to you that there is. Just because you didnt see it, doesnt mean it wasnt there. "We didn't start the fire"
  3. But it's obvious conclusion. If your God did not want gays or pedophiles, he'd create the people in the way they wouldn't even think about that. Since he didn't, the logical assumption is he wanted them to do so, or at least accepted it. Well, I challenge the way YOU describe your God from the bible, not the "real God". If YOU say that the God is omnipotent and omniscient - you're saying that the God cannot learn anything, since he already knows everything by definition of omniscient. If you say the God is NOT omnipotent and omniscient (so far no one said that), then we'll get other questions to ask. As you see, your problem starts even with your definition of God. Your beliefs do not matter in terms of applicability. And your testimony is not valid, since you have no proof you're following righteousness - Again, I'm challenging your definitions, not the "real God" (who works in misterious ways, and therefore it is not possible to understand him at all). With your definition it's simple - either we were created perfect (and therefore should be), or we were not (and therefore God should blame himself). First, I'd like to make it clear I'm good and I'm not guilty. If you don't think you are, it's your problem. Don't make it everyone's problem. >>>>He sent himself, that is what is so miraculous, wonderous, and amazing. He sent himself to do what no other could do, to give us a message no other knew. It is exciting just to think about how amazing God is, how the heart of such a love pours out of the wind, the trees, the ocean, the mountains, the sky. >>>>It must be somewhat exhausting to never surrender. All we do is surrender to his love, mercy, understanding, comfort, joy. Seems a little strange that anyone would continue to lose peace because of resistance and rebellion, but hey, I did that for years. You are actually holding yourself in contempt, there is mercy for you though, ready and waiting whenever you want it. And there is much freedom in that mercy. The principles in driver handbook prove to be true for everyone who's driving a car. Does it mean that the driver handbook is full of righteoness, and should be used as a guide to live ethernal life (or even to skydive)? So you finally agreed that there is no God unless you believe in it? Voila!!! >>>>Just because a man is blind, does not mean he cannot see., he just doesnt see with his eyes. Just because God is invisible, does not mean he is not there. He reveals himself in the heart and that is what pours out thorugh the eyes. So that we can see with the eyes of Heaven. "We didn't start the fire"
  4. Why should you be sorry? That's the way your God created the people. And he's obviously fine with this, and he does not punish anyone. There is something really wrong with your logic. An omniscient creature CANNOT learn anything. It already knows everything by definition. >>>>Agreed. Although I believe that Jesus revealed it in spirit, and therefore if you are in the spirit of Gods love, righteousness will be taught and followed. I can testify that following righteousness feels good, but I am not righteous in Gods sight without Jesus, so then, I am not righteous at all. Righteousness is a path to follow, and its revelations are unexplainable to those not on it. >>>>Im afraid there is much about God you dont understand even as it is revealed in the scriptures. God knows us deeper than we know ourselves. He knows our hearts and minds...he knows how rebellious and treacherous we are, he does not blame us, he is just and fair and judges us the way we judge ourselves and others. Judgment came on the world through Christ. Guess what? Everyone is guilty, and no one is good. That is why he sent Jesus so that even still we might be saved from the torment and condemnation of sin. Only those who live by the truth will see their guilt in sin. It is not God who blames us, but us who blame God, and as long as we continue to blame him, we will never see the truth and find mercy in his judgment. Then the bible is wrong. >>>>You are also at a door. You wont be able to understand if you dont believe. "We didn't start the fire"
  5. Everyone is judged by the combination of their actions, not just a subset. We know about the priests who fucked the children once a while, and did some good things the rest of the time. We however still consider them criminals, and punish thed. And the fact they also did some good things didn't change that. Same with your biblical God. What has been done looks like a huge mess. The Bible, which was "created" as the most important guidance for righteouness, was a catastrophic failure. It is so ambiguous and misguiding that even Christians themselves cannot agree on a single Bible interpretation - and they tend to disagree on rather important things, which are critical for salvation. Thus the only available "evidence" does not pass any credibility tests - in fact even imperfect humans create much better guidelines than the one allegedly created by your perfect God! Since - according to you - the God created us all, and this includes our ability to learn things, he should blame himself for that. For example, if I create a program to play chess, and it does not, that's me - the creator - to blame. Not the computer which carefully executes the program I created. Thus your whole "last chance to learn" does not make any sense at all. If your God wanted people righteous, why don't he created them this way that everyone is born righteous? Should not be difficult for omnipotent creature. >>>>That is a good question. You have to be born of righteousness, meaning, it must be understood and learned. God is the only righteousness in the entire realm of wisdom, which encompases all that is all. What is born of him is born of righteousness. Love is the key to understanding righteousness. With the little amount that he gives us here through faith, we learn, but with the full amount of grace that he has promised us, we will become. The bible teaches us that we are becoming Gods righteousness, not just that we are learning from it. Righteousness by nature could never be found without wickedness, Grace could never be found without sin, Heaven could never be revealed without the earth. Gods plan, as he describes in the bible is to establish a new heaven and a new earth as a home of righteousness. Imagine, if everyone is righteous as God in the next life, what he would teach us then, and indeed, what we would become....or dont...Righteousness is a gift, either you want to receive it or you dont. But if you dont, what then will your excuse be? Try to understand it this way. Just because someone knows what is right does not mean they will do what is right. It is when someone does what is right that puts them on the path to righteousness. When they desire with all thier hearts to do what is right they no longer need to learn, they have become. Since none of us are righteous, we can only desire it with all our hearts...it is the desire that is filled by Gods spirit and grace that allows us to persevere and stay on the path. What happens when we get a desire fulfilled? Fills good doesnt it? A desire to please God is no differnt, yet the reward most certainly is. Faith pleases God immensely and life is the reward for that pleasure, because it pleases God to please his children. "We didn't start the fire"
  6. Who said I deny God? I just recognize the validity of science, so I understand that any reasonable interpretation of a holy book must be consistent with things that we know, without need for explanations involving supernatural beings or reliance on things yet explained by science. One Love? Excellent idea.
  7. I agree with you and disagree with you. People are evil, people are not good. Only God is good. Of course it makes sense to you that people are not being inspired by anything, because you seem to not be a believer. So we know that man has the knowledge of good and evil within them or at least we agree on that. We dont agree on who leads us into those paths. Jesus says the ruler of the world is the prince of darkness (rebellion against God and the worship of self), to me it seems clear that many follow his path. Those who follow Jesus, follow the path of righteousness, but it is not always easy because the knowledge of evil within us beckons. Therefore we know if the conflict within us has to resist evil, then we are not in Gods kingdom just yet. But as we follow the way of Gods kingdom, when we are no longer with the knowledge of evil, (as we are already being transformed through his grace) the true goodness of God in all his glory will be revealed to us. So, while we are being led that way, we are not there yet, meaning that none of us are good and all of us are evil. It is clear also to me that while we follow either path, we can feel the paths destination. That is, if I follow the world and its desires, I get the world and its desires. If I follow Jesus and his desires, I get Jesus and his desires. One leads to death in the soul, the other to life. One is perishing right in front of our eyes, the other exists eternaly in the spirit. You dont have to be the wisest man on earth to look around and see that what you have will perish with time. 8. You know, in the Old Testament, God was full of Wroth and Vengeance. You did bad stuff, he rained brimstone down on your ungrateful ass or harrassed your people with 7 plagues. In the New Testament, its like he has turned over a new leaf, you don't hear some much of the nasty things he did to his people (because if you believe in it, everyone on earth is his creation) You know what happened around the time between the New Testament and the Old Testament? He got laid. (c) bash.org The OT was also full of love, understanding, wisdom, mercy, and promise. The Pharisees falied to see just that. Everything has been done so that we might learn righteousness, and to this day we still have not. So rather than destroy us all, he gives us one last chance to learn righteousness by sending his own righteousness to teach us. Low and Behold, that righteousness is the spirit of grace and truth, Jesus Christ. The secret to learning righteousness is to open your heart and fill it with Gods immeasurable love. Not so that we may just do righteousness, but so that our very desire would be to become righteousness. There is something in all of us that desires this, but the world holds a veil over that desire and tells us that it is no fun, not fulfilling, not joyful, plain ect...The truth is that righteousness is what we all desire deep down and when that desire is filled we are filled with goodness and life. Righteousness is Life. "We didn't start the fire"
  9. You assume that you have wager on the correct God, there are many to choose from.. you still have everythig to loose. If God isnt mercy and Love then we all have something to lose dont we? Yet mercy and love are the very things he expressed through Christ. When we believe in this grace it empowers our spirit and brings life to our soul. Just what Jesus said it would do.... "We didn't start the fire"
  10. >Do you think that man doesnt have the ability or the will to destroy himself??? The ability? sure. Could have done that with the cold war and MAD. The will? Of course not. The desire of the species to continue to live is one of the most obvious forces in biology. Fear of death is arguably the most innate of human traits. You sure have alot of faith in mankind. But do you understand the power of evil? Have you ever truly seen its manifestation in man? It is not as heartfilled as you are, and does have the will to destroy itself so it can advance its principles and authority. "We didn't start the fire"
  11. Hmmm … sounds like metaphor for burning fossil fuels leading to global warming, creating an environment that is less than hospitable to mankind. Or, perhaps, like yours, my interpretation is based upon starting with a conclusion, and then picking and choosing passages to match my conclusion. Having said that, my interpretation makes every bit as much sense as yours. Yes of course. You know that I am a believer, so my thoughts are taken that way. I am inspired to not worry, to be as loving as possible, and to not be afraid, but I am also inspired to understand the prophecy as it unfolds. Jesus told us to "interperet the times" like we "interperet the weather". All I can do is follow the spirit of grace and be ready, aware, prepared, and waiting. I told you a while back that God gives desires to people, he gave you a desire for science and exploration of the universe for understanding, but this doesnt mean you have to deny him for the rest of your life, or that you have to deny your desire for science. The Gospel is about the heart as it is faced with the challenges and circumstances of the world so that love might reveal its power as all conquering and empowering (its glory). My desire is to make sure people dont miss out on the love of Christ so that together we can be united with one love that is pure and good. My desire is to advance the kingdom of Heaven. 12. Now, if we are foolish enough to use them, we may well succeed in wiping out much of humanity. But we won't wipe us all out, and most of the earth will survive just fine. (Google "Red Forest" in Chernobyl.) I know/knew absolutely nothing about uranium or the enrichment process, so that is welcomed knowledge. The rest of what you said also seems to run in line with the millineal reign of Jesus on the earth, after the rapture. The prophecy could be a foreknowledge of warfare leading to fallout, leading to persecution, leading to the return of Jesus. This is at least pretty interesting and in my eyes worthy of forward thought. The prophecy outine.... The Anitchrist Revealed, The Fallout (disease, famine, pestilence ect...), The Persucution agianst believers, The Return of Jesus and Rapture, The 1000 yr Reign of Jesus without satans influence (as he is bound in the pit), Satan released to influence one last time, The earth destroyed by Fire, The End of Heaven and Earth and the birth of a new Heaven and Earth with the spirit of righteous man indwelling. "as a mother goes through birth pains and is filled with joy when she delivers". Preachers and Teachers forgive me if I missed something. "We didn't start the fire"
  13. There is no evidence that there is anything for you to gain. With out any evidence you are wasting your time believing in a fairy tale. Hope is empowered by love. Our love comes from the testimony of Gods love through Jesus. Believing in something as a child is different than believing in something as an adult with the heart of a child. The love has proven itself real in my life, seems to make sense that it is real. "We didn't start the fire"
  14. I wasnt forecasting. I was revealing the prophecy as it is written as best I know how. Do you think that man doesnt have the ability or the will to destroy himself??? What makes you think I want to read about the end of the world??? I merely acknowledge that due to our ability to create mass destruction on more than one level (warfare, enviornmental, morality) it is possible that one day this destruction could manifest into the "perfect storm", as what is revealed in the prophecy. I am not a prophet, God has not spoken to me. I am not a teacher, I think I am too afraid of saying the wrong thing. I am only a man who desires to love Jesus as much as he would allow me to. Everything I know I get from grace. "We didn't start the fire"
  15. Depleted uranium is useless as fissile material for bombs. Nope! Just another example of how you can get just about whatever you like from the Bible, depending on what you pay attention to. Have you read Revelation? A lot of pain, suffering and killing there. Your right, and Jesus calls his people into martyrdom not into killing. I agree with you on the interperetation of the bible. And since nerdgirl reveals that the entire process of uranium enrichment is natural, that would seem to fit in with the prophecy of the end of the world. As the prophecy says it will be destroyed by fire. Meaning that God knew this weapon would be "unearthed". I find it somewhat ironic that man, looking to kill man, has found the greatest weapon of fire and destruction, one that could fit with the prophecy, but still believes he has the right to blame and question God for destroying man altogether, as in the book of revelations. In essence, the weapon used to kill man has the power to be the weapon God could use to bring about the end of the world. Im sure you can somewhat imagine the incredible torment of the fallout of nuclear warfare...which is really only a matter of time. Revelations could be interperting the fallout. And please dont get me started on Biochemical warfare, which also falls in line with Revelations. In the moments of this pure distress, death, and destruction there will be no hope for those without faith. I never want to be involved in such times, but the climate of the end of the world is already brewing, and the word of God has spoken. Want to prevent it? Get rid of evil...if you can find it. Imagine, the end of the world, prophecied by God, yet brought on by man and blamed on God. Like a man who rejects Gods judgement which is full of mercy, and rather wishes to be judged by himself. "We didn't start the fire"
  16. I think everyone hs to figure that out for themselves.Quote >>>>Love testifies to us. Simple, yet extremely powerful. "We didn't start the fire"
  17. >>>When/if you ever did get to the point in humbleness where you would deny yourself and follow Jesus, only then will you find the life in him. I have found that humbleness actually makes us apologize for ever questioning Gods existance, questioning his countless blessings, guidence, love. God only reveals himself to the Contrite and Humble, but he is all the time showing his nature to all of us so that we might turn and learn righteousness. This is all biblical bill. What do you do when you find the truth? How is it possible in your heart to deny it? Would you say that truth has closed its mind simply because it doesnt believe in a lie anymore? What I dont know if you understand is that life is about the search, but finding is the true gift of life. Max used the term Spiritual Universe, and it had an impact on me. If you find what you are looking for, and only you know what that is, then you will stop when you are satisfied, and enjoy your finding. Jesus is exactly what I was looking for, and I enjoy his spirit every moment, as he takes me into the deeper revelations of the creators heart and how mine connects with it. How tragic it would be to search and never find. Because while you may think it is those who have found who were/are close minded, it may just be that those still in the search are still in the search because they are close minded. "We didn't start the fire"
  18. blame and bitterness for what exactly? I dont know, it was more a question I believe. Its my experience that blame and bitterness remain because we cant see them. If I faulted someone for something, I fail to see my own fault, therefore blame and bitterness remain in my blindness. Similar to when relationships are destroyed, we generally only see the fault in others and sincerely believe we have none ourselves, or believe it is very little. Im sure you may be able to testify that when it comes to the destruction of a relationship, there is almost equal amounts of blame on both sides. "We didn't start the fire"
  19. If it has power, what does it matter? The first is positive, and complimentary to a happy life. The second is negative, consuming, and can lead to obsession. Just pointing out that you use words outside the context of their definitions, effectively rendering your posts meaningless. Agreed. There's still hope that you'll catch up, though. >>>>Thats just too funny!!! Ive been in your place before, I never want go back, probably couldnt even if I wanted to! "We didn't start the fire"
  20. Your God is a killer, and a killer of women and children.... Nice cut and paste job! Yes your right...in the old testament, but in the new testament, he relents and saves with his own blood. Gods heart is the same, but his covenant with man has changed from the "old wine" into the "new wine" Important to remember that if the world is run by satan then all of the world are satans children. Besides, I dont think mankind has the right to judge Gods actions, the last time I checked, we were pretty brutal as well. But you will say, "only in the name of God", and you would be wrong. In the name of territory, money, power, and even EGO. Im afraid I cant make you understand that you need to fear the Lord right down to your deepest fear, (it is much more liberating than you know). Im afraid telling you to fear God only sparks rebellion and treachery in someone like you. But the fear of the Lord humbles a man greatly, and humbleness is the way to soften our hearts. When Jesus came, he washed the feet of his disciples and humbled himself in ways NO MAN on earth will ever be able to. God who created all things bore the humility and humbleness of the cross so that we might have life. He came into his own and was murdered. The point is that humbleness is a beautiful fruit of the spirit. You need to fear the Lord, and you need to fear him deeply. I have found that this actually inspires us to recieve more love through humbleness...Like a little child reveres his father and recieves more love through that reverence. Its about understanding discipline so that we can learn what is right. Deep remorse is very necessary to recieve humbleness. But, I am afraid you did not grasp the way to peace. Perhaps you are still full of blame and bitterness? "We didn't start the fire"
  21. That reminds me of a favorite line from a Pink Floyd song: "Was it love, or was it the idea of being in love?"Quote >>>>If it has power, what does it matter? I used to listen to pink floyd, now there just too dark for me. Like the doors in many ways. Great bands though. >>>>The rest of your responses reveal to me either that you are being just a iittle argumentative (which I dont think is the case) or you are actually that blind and insensative to the deeper aspects of the human mind. Either way, the blindness is good, because if God ever did reveal himself to you, you would see in a light so powerful, it would overwhelm you in the most magnificent ways and you would then be one of his greatest testimonys. I hope I didnt just completey ignore your responses, but you and I are just in two totally different places, dont you agree? "We didn't start the fire"
  22. So why is he so busy killing us and letting millions of us starve and suffer. Why did your god brutally massacre over 2,391,421 people in the bible, including women and children? If we are his "greatest" creation why are we so flawed, why are we so fragile and susceptible to 1000's of illnesses many fatal. Why did he create Cancer, AID’s and the most brutal and horrific SIDs (Sudden infant Death). May be he was bored one day and decided to randomly and without any reason kill babies in their sleep. Why do we as a human race not have a single belief in one god, there are some 22 main stream religions, all with as much evidence and validity as yours. Why is there not a burning cross in the sky to remind us? When you find the answers to those questions, you let me know. Peace is something that can only come through understanding no matter what circumstances life throws at us. I cant be sorry enough that it is this way, and I am far from acheiving it, but on the path to. A couple of "answers" I have found are that blame and rebellion will destroy, absolutely destroy peace in our hearts. Gratitude for the things in your own life should not be too hard given the suffering in the world yes? Now someone once confronted me on this site that because I said that, he thought that I believed that others were made to suffer so that I can find gratitude. I thought that was a bit mean personally, but he later apologized. When I was about 12 or so I remember asking similar questions as to why I was born with all my limbs, and an "average looking" person, when others I have seen were not so "fortunate". I remember finding no answer whatsoever in the following years and pursued the path of blame so that I could live the way I wanted to, steeped in sin with excuses to back me up. That is, that blame actually gives us an alibi to destroy ourselves does it not? See if you see it in someones life, or perhaps in your own, after you "cross a line" you just keep right on going cause youve already crossed the line anyway. Like when you spend alot of money on something that you didnt really want to spend, you just sort of treat yourself to something and justify it in almost a rebellious manner. Dont worry, all of us do this in some way, and of course some more than others. I have a chronic throat problem which prevents me from playing paying gigs anymore, so I used to self lubricate (justification) and rage in alcoholism even more sort of as a rebellious f--k you (basically to myself), Im gonna do what I want, even if that means destroying myself. Ect...Its an interesting but powerful battle, the one over the heart. The point is that blame is the fire for rebellion, and in rebellion there is no peace. This is true whether there is suffering in the world or not. Most of us blame God because there is no one else left to blame. Why not, blame satan every now and then? Jesus says he is the prince of the world. Jesus, who is God in human form was murdered by worlds inabiltiy to see truth. This means that the truth was murdered by the lie. There is so much more to say about this as I am sure you understand. Jesus has already promised a kingdom of eternal reign on a new earth with those who have received the heart to love God, so we have the hope of this place in our hearts, and what a glorious hope it is. I want to give you a couple of scriptures from the Gospel, but I am on a mac and dont quite know how to operate safari, so I cant minimize this and open anohter window to copy and paste them on this post. "We didn't start the fire"
  23. If it means that much to you, then perhaps you should describe it. So God is but an emotion? Or are you trying to redefine love to be something it really isn't? The emotions are only expressions of inspired thought. Our hearts can inspire our minds, and often do. By hearts, I mean where we keep our love. Its the battle over the heart that the whole war is about. Emotions are how we experience Love and learn how good it feels. I wrote a while back that there is a connection in nature that we often share with it. Beauty. Inside ourselves we are filled with emotions, adoration, brain pulses, racing hearts ect...and outside of ourselves we see what is beautiful, be it a mountain, a river, a sky, a baby, a loved one, ect...but, there is a connection between the workings of our minds and the object we are admiring...beauty is good and is truly only seen with the heart. Love is beauty, beauty is good, God is good...do you see the connection? "We didn't start the fire"

  25. Hmmm … and this whole time I've been under the impression that it had something to do with eggs being fertilized by sperm. Thanks for clearing that up. Like I said, if you can define God precisely, I'll consider your assertion. However, if you continue using words in ways inconsistent with their definitions, don't be surprised if no one takes your posts seriously. >>>>Open up and let it in. God is Love. How can I define love precisely? Artists all throughout time have failed to capture the depth in its power. Collectively we have been able to express it, but with radical limits, love is not for us to recive its full measure, but to become its full measure. Imagine that, becoming Love. This is the essence of the Gospel, but it starts with the heart. God gave us his heart in Jesus, so that we might become his heart in Jesus. "We didn't start the fire"
