  1. Also most tandem canopies sliders are not collapsed, the flapping of the slider damages the slinks. I worked at a Dz that had slinks on all of their tandem mains, and on a slow day did an inspection and every one of their slinks had serious burns in them, some to more than 50%. We changed every slink that day. I really like the sacrificial line on the sigma canopy, its the one thing I think that every tandem canopy manufacturer would copy. Yep, Ive seen DLR live a few times, and he always says the same exact things. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  5. Yeah but can he cut a 2 percent grade within a 10th of a foot and do it flat across, or pull a pond slope at a 4 to 1 or 5 to 1 from just a top grade stake? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  7. That is interesting. Why only the team gear? It was because the only gear at the dz was team gear. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

    Vector 3

The gear is Team Fastrax demo team rigs. They range from 150 mains to 293 mains. 6 rigs were stolen in all. They were stolen from our Ohio location.
  9. Late december, I dont have the exact dates. I hope they find the guy. Im sure that cutting active runway lights has a stiff penalty. Oh yeah I forgot to post, there is a reward for the return, or information leading to the return, and/or capture of the person(s) involved. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  10. 6 of our Team Fastrax demo team rigs were stolen. Someone tried to cut the alarm wires, but instead cut the lines for the airport lights, and awoss. They broke into the team room, and stole 6 rigs. They are all Vector 3 containers. Black with a Red, White and Blue center flap. The rigs say team fastrax all over them. And the mains all are white and say Selection.com. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  11. Im 50/50 Iran is flaunting and testing us every day. Its not like we have a right to make rules for them, we dont with India, Pakistan and other nuke countries. But they are clearly not on the same page as the rest of the world. Do I think WE should do something? No but I think someone nearby, that they can effect should. Maybe Israel should just drop a bomb or two, well maybe "Israel" ie: the U.S. like the last time "Israel" bombed them. We have all found out through history, that war is good for the economy, we will all be better off, except for the soldiers that go over there. And we will end up placing and supporting someone that will love us, until we cant help them anymore and turn on us, just like almost everyone the first poster mentioned as dead and an enemy of the us. The one thing that has changed, now we can bomb them with drones, so do I support a drone attack, well no! But wtf, why not, it will earn ratings for our elected officials. BTW im being 100% sarcastic, or not. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  12. *** We used to have a ink twin otter stamp, and a skydiver stamp. Before we went on a jumping holiday we used to stamp our money so the locals would know how much business the DZ is bringing into town. Skyding Dollars Eventually some of the locals in longmont could end up with some "skydiving dollars" when they get change from the local business's . Maybe even Mcnasty. The DZ is bringing in a lot more money to Longmont than the rental fee on the hangers and the cost of fuel. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  13. I agree, one of my best friends has been doing A/C and appliance repair over twenty years, he is has all the certifications, and in many states. When he was 18, we were hanging out at a movie theater parking lot after it was closed with about 50 kids from school. Cops came, found beer in some cars, and make everyone call their parents for a ride, and made us leave our cars. My mom picked us up, let us drop her off and let me use her car to pick my car up, because neither of us were drinking and it was bullshit. Upon returning to the theater, we were arrested for tresspass after warning. My mom came to the jail, and the cops said we were arrested because they knew we were drinking before. Mom insisted I was breath alyzed. We both were and passed, they said I was stoned then. I was released to mom, my friend to his. The next day I was piss tested by mom after I offered, and passed. We were offered a plea, I declined and said Ill take court, my friends mom wouldnt let him and took the plea. They dropped my case, and he got probation. Now every time he applies for a job, they do a background check on him. Because of a bullshit tresspass charge when he was 18, he gets denied for every job. That is something I find rediculous! 14. I love my evo, you can carry two batteries, or even buy a larger one, but my battery lasts all day. The 4g is hard to find. Its easy to use and has tons of open market apps. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  15. Are you really comparing a Nova to the velocity? Velocities have a long history of being a good canopy, and yes I have seen many canopies collapse, most of them high enough to reinflate, I see Tandem mains do it all the time, precision, PD and Icarus models. There was a crossfire 1 fatality at the pond national at the ranch where the canopy completely collapsed, yet crossfires continue to safely land skydivers every day. Ill take that challenge, I have a long history of doing video, big ways and 4way, I always made it a priority to have everyone I filmed land before me. Bring your pilot 150 and lets have a lift contest, Ill stay with you all day. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  16. I doubt it was a velocity specific problem. Any canopy will collapse under wake turbulence. Smaller canopies do have a higher pressurisation because of higher airspeeds, but loosing 1/4 of a 90 sq/ft canopy is a lot less available wing then loosing 1/4 of a 150 sq/ft canopy. Canopy choice and especially size requires a lot of responsibility, you need to take into account what you are going to do with that canopy. Flying a highly wingloaded canopy on big ways, is probably not the best idea, or if so dont land where everyone else is landing. People now a days downsize without thinking about things fully, just being able to land a small canopy isnt everything to consider. Most dont realise your EP's become more important to have down with a small canopy, Pattern, traffic, ability to put yourself out of traffic ect, ect, ect. Ive heard the excuse I was jumping an 84 I had to land then, too many times. Most dont realise they can stay up, even with a small canopy. Learn your canopy people! learn landing separation, fly a good pattern, and when in doubt land at the alternate landing area. And most of all from this situation everyone should know where not to fly in relation to other canopies. These are all things this person, or anyone that jumps a canopy, let alone a small canopy should know. Especially before someone decides to downsize. I still dont think its a Velocity problem, Im pretty sure any canopy would have done this. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  17. These are competition linesets (at the smallest diameter they offer), PD has done extensive testing and the lines are a lot more durable than the previous HMA linesets. The coating does not wear off after 30 jumps. Trust that Pd has gone through a lot of work before they released this product. If you jump a comp velocity, or a regular velocity and desire a lineset that has minimal drag then this is the way to go. This isnt for regular jumpers or work jumps (with the smallest diameter lines) Its primarily for competition canopy pilots. But it lasts a lot longer than the original 300lb hma lineset PD had available. PD is always working and looking for the best product to provide for their customers. Im not a rep for PD but a happy customer

  19. Fuck that! Kill him, and kill him quickly. He has planned and implemented, attempts to kill my fellow countrymen. Civilian and military. I say do it the fastest and cheapest way. If you wish to do harm to me, especially from thousands of miles away, using weak minded people as the method, then I hope my tax money pays for you to loose your life. I dont make this as a political statement, because I think GWB would have made the same decision as Obama, to end this fuckers life. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  20. Actually it happened quite fast, deploy at 2500 ft, even with 3 grommets it took a while to open, and with a 79 you loose altitude fast. But yeah I definitely thought about it after. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  21. wasnt unconcious, but I cutaway at close to 800 ft no problem with my skyhook. I had an RDS malfunction, and one of the rings hung up on my 79, closing the front cells. to keep it flying straight I had to pull the other toggle all the way down. I was shaking my front riser and it was working its way down until my alarm went off to start my turn to land. I cutaway and it worked fine. Also when we did test drops for reserves they were done at about 300ft. These were with steel not people. But as an AFF instructor Im supposed to say under 1000ft no cutaways, pull your reserve and add material. So based on your gear its different. Im not adding a 106 reserve to a 79 main, Unless IM really low. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  22. Also wednesdays jumps are only $15, and we have jumper apreciation days on some fridays for $19. Check the calendar and you will see a lot of discounted jump days. $15 jumps on Wednesdays! Thats freaking awesome! Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  23. how probable??? I did a bunch of test jumps to test how much the thread holds the pc in the event of a total. I did double passes, triple passes, I even used harness thread. Most of these jumps were out of a porter where we asked the pilot to slow the speed down as much as possible. Every one of these jumps, even the harness thread jump resulted in no hesitation. Myself Im not concerned about the seal thread breaking, we tried very hard to cause hesitation and never had it. Could we have made it happen, yes, but not under normal circumstances and packing. Granted these were faster than 20 mph, but who falls at 20 mph? I even used a 3rd canopy with the cutaways on the risers to get a slow as possible reserve deployment, and from the time it took me to cutaway the 3rd canopy and pull my silver I was fast enough to not cause a hesitation. Bill wanted honest tests with many variables, in real life situations and we came up with them and tried them. I even support the idea that they should allow two passes of seal thread on your pack job to increase the chance that your freebag will stay with your main after cutaway. 24. Im not your typical pulse jumper, but I put some jumps on one recently and loved it. It opened great, was responsive enough to have fun with, and had plenty of flare power to put me softly on the ground. I even got a nice swoop out of it, I did a straight in on it first to see how it would be. I highly reccomend this canopy. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  25. While your at it, why dont we give back Texas and California to Mexico? Either way I live in Ohio so it doesn't effect me much, but Im curious why you would post this on a skydiving forum? If we go back and look at property rights there isn't many countries that don't posess land that wasnt someone else's at one time or the other. Is Israel right? dunno, Is Palestine right? I dont know that either. But is killing each other worth it, definitely not! Im not sure what the answer is, but somewhere out there, there is an answer. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
