  1. Yes calling is important, although last time I phoned the sheriff's office before a day of jumping the dispatch kept asking if this was some kind of joke . . . . just because its pouring down rain doesn't mean the no ones gonna wake up at 530am to go jump : )

    Double PLF

Maybe it should sound like, "whomp there it is, whomp there it is". They were definitely PLF's, that's that only reason I can walk right now--although it probably looked much less graceful. Oh and there is no video so it never happened, I have no clue what you're talking about . . .
  3. I've been jumping that exact canopy on a slightly higher A (330 ft) and the 42" has been working great. It seems better so far to have a short delay than to go and throw, the latter appears to tow the pc for a short bit before there's enough airspeed.
  4. Dude who lit the fuze on your tampon? Did Tom kill your dad or something? And he's not considered an authority any more than someone else with tons of jumps and experience. Just because he's green doesn't mean you have to hate him. He still jumps, I jumped w/ him last saturday and find that he is right almost all of the time. Good point about the Malaysia injuries . . . it seems that both technical sites get the best of the jumpers if they don't stay sharp. I think the previous point was that there have been events in the past w/ lots of jumps and few injuries, maybe just not this year in particular, who knows. The KL tower looks a lot safer than the low Moab jumps...but at a safe exit point jumpers just push the limits more it seems.
  5. How about drinks Tuesday morning??

    QUESTION

Dude if the water is deep at all you could easily jump it w/ only a pair of swim trunks. Go ahead and try a tard but keep your body position as if you had no base rig. Oh and keep those feet together and arms in. good luck!
  7. How about if I'll be there in late June?
  8. Ground rush? Try Jamie's recent 240' huck w/o rig or helmet. He is my hero!
  9. One could argue though that the loaning of the rig and the free repack are both actions, and that the attitude would be wether you were happy or disgruntled while doing them. Most of this debate will be about definitions, I'm sure everyone pretty much agrees with each other on this topic, but defining ethics is where it gets tricky. Just ask aristotle.
  10. Can I have your gear?
  11. CPOOPC?? (Kapoops?) Mutiny within the ranks??? Well if Canada DOES have better skibase, I demand you pay for me to fly up there and personally inspect these sites! That's pretty much the only way, I thought for hours and that was it.
  12. Man all I sees is a bunch of zero's, very depressing. Ooo check this out, lots of snow---and apparantly Vail is more fun than jumping angel falls w/ a skydiving rig! http://vail.snow.com/winterhome.asp So the other day on the lift I started talking to a guy next to me about big cliffs in the backcountry. Yeah turns out he was an employee, but had good info so no harm done.
  13. The point of the post was to comment on the snow at the skibase site. Apologies for sounding unappreciative of the basezone, I was being very sarcastic and making fun of cliff calling it dorkzone. In fact to keep the thread on track feel free to delete the last few entries, we should be focusing on the object conditions.
  14. Oh Tom what could be more fullfulling in life than posting on the dorkzone? I hope that grade A fluff comes in, I can't imagine a safer cliff than one with lots of soft ground. Feb and March should provide what's needed, Shane maybe you can buy some from CO---they have plenty.
