  1. Ok how do you feel about immigration? It’s not as simple about paying for some ones fuck trophy as you put it. You need to have an increasing population beyond the rate of deaths Now with increased health cost and affordability (even by most middle class) you have a few choices you support children born in the US to become future tax payers (so it's like investing takes money to make money) or you relay more heavily on immigration of people with the skills and abilities to advance and earn higher taxable wages. The current immigration system is not set that well for the latter. As most with sponsorship are almost held hostages but the company sponsoring them with no room for advancement or ability for them to leave the job for another. So many immigration as a whole is a smaller tax revenue basis. You either take care of your own (as a Nation) or you begin to suffer the disparity in the birth/death rate. Higher death rate means less people to support the system of the ageing and that by far is more costly the supporting health incentives for children. Healthcare for Children is the step to start combating this. With out adequate means of ensuring a healthy future population you are then at a start of a downward spiral in further increasing the span between poverty and what will in the future be consider wealthy. 2. I think of it as an insurance policy. A small portion of my paycheck is deducted in the form of taxes spent on incarcerating him which protects me from huge financial loss due to loss/destruction of property, increased prices due to theft losses, potential medical bills, lost wages due to injury which prevents employment..etc. How do you feel about a small portion of your paycheck going to provide preventive healthcare for a child which over the long term will reduce "potential medical bills"? Thats a whole new thread on its own SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  3. Where is your proof of this that it is in fact doing that? There are much worse people let out in a shorter period of time that are free. And a small portion how small in your mind is small when looking at the over all cost of incarceration as a whole be better spent by really targeting the people that need proper level of sentencing and breaking the cycle that is just turning people in to future repeat offenders because of the roadblocks that are put in place that for many almost guarantee failure and reoffence. 4. what he said. But I didn't even make it that far. Ya the voice is anoying but if you like to read instead here is the transcrips http://www.pinkyshow.org/archives/episodes/070525/070525_credits.html They doing bring up some valid points. They target younger people and open up some critacle thinking. I don't think its one sided they took the facts and researched it. Yes SH broke International law but this was not about SH actions this was about weather the US lead invasion with out UN sanctions legal or an illegal war. Now before some people go off on the screw the UN rant don't forget that the US was a major founder and help set the structure the UN follows and they are one of the vetoing powers. So you really can't set up a club with your rules and then get pissed of when the same set of rules applies to you. I have very mixed feeling about the whole invasion. I do not have any mixed emotions about HS being removed HE was a tyrant to the world and his own people. They part that I don’t like is as superpower the US holds other nations to a creating level of expectations then they then self break those. Where is the ethicist in this? It has been a very weak footing for the reasoning of the invasion. Acts that have been committed that contravene the Geneva Convention and the rules of armed conflict I’ll leave that as an open question on how you fell about that ans what should be done. 5. as much as this guy is a petty jerkoff you really want to keep footing the bill for a long term trip for him ? SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  6. The solution to that disparity is not to weaken the sentence for 3 strikes violations but to increase the sentence for murder. As for giving this guy life, don't most life sentences give you the option of paroling after 25ish for good behaviour? I could be wrong, I don't know for sure but it just seems that some individuals are irredeemably and unremorsefully criminal. If we are willing to give this guy healthy food while he is put away and a roof over his head (better than most homeless who have committed no crime have it) then maybe it's for the best. He will feel at home amongst like minded individuals, will want for nothing and we will not have to worry about what he is up to anymore. Alternately I am open to suggestions as to how you would deal with habitual criminals who just never seem to change. Yes I agree the disparity would be to increase the time for murder but the one I have problems with it the ability to string two different acts in to one to turn it in to a Felony. Don't get me wrong I'm not going to be heart broken to see this guy serve time but I do have a problem with is how it turned in to a Felony charge . Stopping repeat offenders is another problem they need to be given skills and something to get them self out of the cycle. Some do well others do not. How that not so easy it needs to be a case by case. SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  7. The issue is that even with multiple convictions this guy cannot respect other peoples property or their right to not be assaulted (and yes shoving is assault). By doing so he also expressed a willingness to use force (threat) to commit the crime of theft so that makes it robbery by force (not sure what the actual legal term is for it). He has had more than enough fair chances, I think society could use a very long break from this guy. I agree but is 30 - to live a valid sentence for this because of the three strikes law? The average sentence for murder is 20 years I think that a huge descrepencey and kinda shows the inbalance of what we put a value on a human life compared to otehr crimes comited. SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  8. I didn't say he didn't deserve some justice comming his way but to be list that as a felony and 3 strikes witch would give him a longer jail time then most firts time murder offences so you think it work that much effort and cost for his sorry ass? I have had a crimes commited against me and if I called the cops every time I have been pushed I would still be giving reports. There is a difference between a push and having some one smash one to the bridge of your nose. SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  9. I thought that was odd too. You can apply to be an astronaut the same way you apply for Burger King! Burger King pays better! But you can't drink before going to work at Burger King SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  10. Now the 3 strikes law make sense for putting the right people away for a long time but some times it seams to get used for the wrong reason. Now this guy is not exactly a model citizen but taking a doughnut and then pushing some one becomes a felony charge “Farmington Police Chief Rick Baker said the two incidents taken separately equalled two misdemeanours: shoplifting and minor third-degree assault. Together, they make for second-degree robbery, a class B felony, defined in state law as forcibly stealing property. The amount of force and the amount of property does not matter.” seams a bit much. His past felony charges were torching a car to collect insurance and possessing methamphetamine ingredients. And now this. While there are many other more violent cases that get minimal sentences is it really worth the cost and effort on some one like this to get the time away? Doesn’t seam there is much common sense in this when there are far more better cases to go after or is this just another case of a local prosecutor taking things on and making it a bigger show then it needs to be especially considering the size of the town. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/missouristatenews/story/2F37838AFD546C9A8625736D000B589F?OpenDocument SO this one time at band camp..... 16. I've been trying to do this since I got the program back in April... unfortunately my manager doesn't actually have the time to manage his people because he has too many other things to do... so I've asked for a number of things mutiple times with no results... unfortunately the Contract I am managing was in place for a year and a half prior to my arrival and a lot of the problems that crop up are due to mistakes made (or at least disicions made) prior to my involvement... Thats kinda sucks but you do have a chance to make soem changes because being a new face on the contract should give you a chance to make soem changes and I would look in to the contract deeply and do a risk assement for your self and see where there are potental problems in the future could crop up and you can start to plan and head them off before they actualy become a problem. 18. Manage a program? Sorry couldn’t resist, on a serious side maybe it a good time to rewrite your own responsibilities as long as you find a way to CYOA and get the people above you on board and to change how things are done having a clean slate can be a good thing if you can arrange that. But I would go back to them to get some clear guideline and objectives for the role or it could turn in to a big setup for a failure due to lack of communication and not having everyone being on the same page for goals and objectives. What you think should be done and what they expect to be done may be worlds apart. . SO this one time at band camp..... "Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most."
  19. I have never required the need for one but from a incident told by an ER doctor during a get together shared one of many odd experience he has faced in his Line of work. The metal ones = bad apparently as you mentioned that to tight it can cause damage as well as we were told it dose not allow things to return to normal once the required period of needing the assistance device has passed. After a period of time the "Victim" (as he called him) could not remove said device and decided it was time to get a professional opinion on how to resolve his predicament. Once in the ER the normal ring cutter they have on had meant for the rings on your hands and not for the particular type they were facing was not heavy duty enough through the heavy gage of the steel. This required a call to the non medical department of the hospital requesting a tool loan from the maintenance department of one set of bolt cutters. Well due to the non medical nature of said tool the “Victims” tool suffered a bit of damage during the delicate procedure of wielding a heave industrial cutting tool around a more sensitive part of ones body. 23. ah ye of little knowledge of the working of a domain registrar. A site can be taken over with little effort and made to look like a legal transfer no hacking involved and all done with paper and a crooked notary public.(most cases doesn’t even require the latter) They have lied cheated and stolen from many. The have turned countless celebrations gifts anniversaries in to low points from this deceptive practices. The have countless false websites claiming to have operation around the country where none exists.
