Actually you kind of answered your own question. If you can swing it financially to invest in equipment that allows you to utilize your train commute time you would come out ahead. I am sure your employer would notice the effort that you put into making yourself more productive. Relocating before you know what your longterm is commitment would be more costly. This time now is called paying your dues, but can be really beneficial to you if you put effort into it. Well I just got home from what I think was an exceptionally good interview. After a short discussion about the compnay the interviewer asked me tell him about myself. After my normal humble self appraisals and exagerations of my superhuman capabilities he proceeded tell me what kind of person he was looking for. Using my words to almost exactly to do so. Really, you know how when you walk out you can tell if you meshed or not. That is how I felt. Problem is I was the first interview, so it will still be towards the end of next week before I expect to hear back based on thier interview schedule. Here's to hoping it works out. Nathan, I am so sorry to see that your thread was hijacked it the manner that it was. Being the eternal optimist I will try to find the good in this. It has mentioned several times. The freedom to express our opinion is one of the greatest freedoms bestowed upon us by our forefathers. Even they knew that there would be morons amoung us that would not be able to respect the wishes of another person and just answer a question straight forward. I have no crystal ball and know that there are those out there that will disagree with me but here goes. I beleive that this country will give my children the best chance at acheiving whatever they want in life. I love that I can instill in them that this is a sure truth. My life is mine and has been made, but theirs is all before them and that is what is important now. I have seen places where this is not a fact of life. I love the fact that our country is protected by individuals like you who do it because they believe there is good in what they are doing, not because they are forced to. Please do not take my down they road of the past, I was there when the draft was mandatory, I did not need to be drafted. I may not be as deep as some who responded positively to your request. You have to remember my words here. Most of the people who will challenge you will not really use knowledge based in research. They will use the 30 second sound bites disseminated by the Dem. party.(again not a partisan comment as I openly acknowledge the use of such tactics by the Rep. I think of this much the same as reading Romeo & Juliet in Cliff Notes as opposed to the real thing). There are those of us who actually studied what he said, when he said it, and the context that it was said in. This happened in my mil science classes. The military does like to learn from it's mistakes. Even back in the 70's. Whether these people want to believe what Col. North has to say based on their political beliefs becomes almost irrelevant. North is a astute military historian. Many in this forum will choose to only associate him in one context. Of course they will not bother to try and learn the whole story of that context either. Do you know that one of the largest financial backers for the VVAW was in fact Jane Fonda, as well as the organization that eventually grew out of it. Actually it has mellowed out over the years. When I started the beer was a mandatory thing, but, for your firsts you had to do something called a "Tarantula Fizz". Now this baby was a concoction consisting of 1/3 white tequella, 1/3 extra sharp ginger brandy, 1/3 Tabasco. It would definitely light you up. There was also a traditional story about how you were drinking this because the previous first drink the "Blue Blazer" had become to dangerous.
