  2. best thing is to have both if you ask me if the worst happens better to have two chances than one!!!(My Opinion Only) *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  3. an AAD is a back up device, incase the worst happens, it is your choice to have it, and should never be relied upon, the best activation device you have are your hands!! ****************************************** *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  4. i was born in '86 with the same morals, take responsibility for your own actions, you take the risk you deal with the consequences, if you want something, earn it! ****************************************** *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  5. did anyone notice that at one point she hit to ground face first, then later she was belly first??? hmmmm ****************************************** *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!

  9. ME!!! never, this is the first weekend all winter that ive been at the dz and not jumped because of the cold! ****************************************** *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  10. As an AFF student i often have to change the rig im using, usually i use a balance 260but on my last jump i had to have a manta 280, on opening and releasing the half brakes i realised the brake lines had a lot less tension than the ones on the balance which kind of scared me, what is the general opinion on this canopy and which canopy would you recommend for a just qualified female? ****************************************** *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  11. that was the off thing, i love the freefall, you dont tend to feel the cold, but the canopy part is the worst, i still have to open at 4000ft and by the time i reach landing area my hands are sooo cold!!!!!! i opted feet on the ground and warmth today, but being on the dz for the last day was fun anyway *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  12. i think the reaction would be from the negative post, the phrase mud sticks comes to mind.....in these situations i think its better to take the issue up directly with the dz first, but i understand that in some dz its hard to communicate any problems without causing a bigger one ......... ****************************************** *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  13. NLPC Closed today and did 10 lifts, first weekend its been too cold for me tho(-4c up top), even in thermals, most people do opt for the tunnel once the colder weather hits now, but i agree, its not the real thing *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  14. i actually got asked what i do for a hobby, at the time i was planning on doing a bungee jump and answered with that, later i was asked how i deal with stress and also answered bungee jump for this, it made (my now) boss laugh and i got the job!! Its not a bad thing to admit you skydive, my work thinks its great i have the confidence to do it. also look at it from another point, if you do get asked the question, and answer with a more basic hobby, what will happen if you do get the job and they find out then. i would say, go with your instincts at the time. *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  15. theres not as few of us as you may think!! we just spread ourselfs out a bit more!!! most (non skydiving) Girls are scared of heights anyways!! leave it to the PROPER females!! *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  16. AAAARRHH, bbc.co.uk is EVIL!!! it always predicts the winds as lower and rarely gets the weather right for my DZ, it can say rain, yet its fine!! i always use 2 or three and compare, usually www.weather.co.uk, or www.metoffice.co.uk(not that these are any good to anyone outside the UK) *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  17. I started turning when i was let go, i also got to choose which of my instructors went on which side. Overall i wouldnt worry too much, as my instructor said, you wouldnt be doing the level if they didnt think you were ready!! *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  18. Congrats!! i had a great weekend too, i have also been cleared to do my consolidation jumps for my AFF, its soo more relaxing knowing its not just about passing a level now!!! *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  19. they will not let you go till you a freefalling in a stable position, you probably wont even notice they have let you go as they are still very close, just in case!! *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  20. hey all, im quite new to skydiving (just completed my AFF level 4) and need a little bit of advice, im having trouble with my right shoulder dipping while in my freefall position and keep going into a spin when released, i managed to finally stop a turn on my re jump level 4 but am concerned for my level 5 (360 degree turn) incase i cant stop it, any advice from similar probs on how to control my body shape more?? *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  21. Just to make you feel a bit better, someone from my home dropzone also broke their leg on their first AFF jump and he is now a cat 8 after a full recovery, just plain bad luck!! its took me 7 jumps to finally stand on my feet on landing!!
  22. Ive been jumping here for almost 4 months and as a student and first timer was surprised to find how friendly everyone was. They have helped me to progress through my levels with encoragement all the way and despite the bad weather, they have done all they can to get me on as many lifts as possible when i am there. Weekends are great when all the regulars and staff are about with themed nights and a bar available after jumping has finished. Dont knock this place till you've been a few times!!!
  23. mine was when i was younger, i always loved watching the demo's and have always been an adreniline junkie, i didnt get the push to do it till i seen an ad in my local paper wanting people to get sponsored to do it for charity, my mum applied without telling me then helped to reach the target, i dont think i would of actually jumped if it wasnt for the charity, it gave me the first drive and i got addicted. *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  24. thanks again for the advice, i am small and find it takes far too long for me to land a 280. the person selling the rig is the same build and weight as me and had this as her first canopy too. As for my canopy control, because i started on RAPS my knowledge is very good, i find the larger canopys toggles hard but i can still control and land fine and usually on target. I think i will demo some larger canopys once passed and take any advice the rigger and my instructors can give. oh and as for being clueless, ive only been in the sport 2 months and i put that as i am unsure of the price for used rigs as it varies so much. *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
  25. wow, i completely agree, ive been trying to get as many jumps in as possible and have been going to my dz nearly every weekend for the past 2 months and only completed three jumps, but as i stay with the instructors and experienced jumpers, i have gained more knowlege than people who are on higher levels than me. *********************************** LittleDJ!!- There is no such thing as a perfectly good aircraft!!!
