I was being a smartypants and thought I would do a jump with multiple beer offenses and only owe one case of beer. I had the money in my jumpsuit pocket, and paid it to the beer fund cookie jar before even putting my canopy down. After rereading the beer rules, I'm not so sure any more. How many cases of beer do you think I owe? - 500th jump - 'D' license requirements met on landing - Landing in the 'D' license area for the first time A case of beer is owed at my DZ for landing in the 'D' license area if you do not have a 'D' license. Since I met all of the requirements for the 'D' license upon landing, I figured that it was okay to land there. Even if it wasn't, I read the beer rules to say that I would only owe one case of beer if there were multiple beer offenses on a single jump. There was some good-natured disagreement about that, but they let me slide with paying for only one case of beer. I don't want to anger the Beer Gods and bring calamity down on my DZ. Yes, that was a memorable jump. I tasted blood from having bit my tongue all the way down and then the darn canopy didn't want to quit flyin.' I touched down, sprang up ten feet, then the canopy dove into the ground refusing to collapse no matter how much I pulled in a brake line. It was just a bit too windy for me. The Kite Runner was also one of my favourites, but if you liked A million little pieces then do yourself a favour and read Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, it is one of the MOST amazing books you'll ever read. I bought Shantaram because so many people recommended it in another thread. I didn't care for it very much. Yep, it came from the dump and it didn't have a seat or brakes. We used a large tin can for a seat... not very comfortable at all... We had a long driveway, and there was a hill on part of it.
