Has anyone else noticed how many foreign soldiers keep turning up in groups at DZ's around the place. The ones I've met are very interesting ...thingies like Swedish bumb disposal experts and cool german frogmen. Just wondering ...multi-culturalism ....aint it wonderful?

My K120 opens beautifully every time.... from the first hop and pop up till over 100 terminal openings ....no complaint...more like very impressed. VERY. Birdman---no worries including 2 nite jumps It is a bit sensitive during slower birdy openings but this was due to poor bag lift off from shortish bridle . You want an excessively well developed non-crossbraced canopy --get one you won't be dissapointed. Scouts honor. edited to include ..you want good openings pack it yourself...packers are jealous of Katana's

If you haven't tried a flat spin yet they're a lot of fun & can get the pooper tube goin' a bit. Hold it till it REALLY winds up and then dive out of it. Don't hold it until you see red as that's your eyes starting to bleed. You've got to trust that your dive (delta?) will pull you out of this as it takes a while for the spin to stop. The recovery is like a wild spiral. If you don't give yourself a little fright ya haven't done it properly. WARNING: NOT FOR NOVICES Find the limit then back off otherwise you don't know where the limit is .

'PEG YOUR FACE" Much fun for sado-masochistic types. The idea is to peg as many clothes pegs to your face as possible. (the wooden ones with metal springs are the most painful ) Never saw the female version but the male game had rules: No beards allowed Can only peg to hairline. Once fully pegged you skull a beer and then the pegs are counted one by one as they are removed . Most pegs win. 80 + and your legendary or paralitic. This is a close second behind "spittin lizardz"

Would you skydive without an AAD ?

Just wondering how many people AAD's ( Cypree in particular) have killed over the years by allowing people that wouldn't otherwise skydive to inhabit the sport. Might new thread this one.

It used to be the done thing for 4way teams ( training out of cessnas to get an extra 5 seconds or so by smokin' it down to a grand or thereabouts.(for 8way it was bumped back up to 1500) This was usually mid-week out of sight of the weekenders. You only do this with people you trust ...a lot. You don't try this with substandard gear & you also learn to pack very well ...and you slowly realise that eventually you WILL die doing it like this. If you had a mal you didn't even bother thinking about dumping your reserve ...you just watched your body automatically respond as you had trained it. You get unconscious your buddies would dump you out as you would for them. AAD's ??...If you had one no-one would jump with you. Turbine aircraft, kerumpa- kerumpa and common sense slowly changed all that ..for some of us. After doing several hundred of these type jumps in a row 1500' seems like dirty high pulling. That's sorta where base got born... below a grand. I think I'm saying it's all relative here . get your AAD but don't dump it in my face! ooooohh ..... tempting fate aren't we?? PS now I'm a real pussy cat and dump at 4000' cause I love flying my parachute so much. I know you guys are out there
