  1. I'm a CSPA rigger that lives in the seattle area. PM me if you need someone to help you do the pre-course work. You have to do ten inspections and repacks prior to the course under the supervision of a Rigger "A" or "B"
  2. Thanks for the link mike, It seemed to fix itself once i landed in seatac where the the altitude is alot lower than denver.
  3. Whenever i try to zero in the altimeter on my suunto vector, the message "def" pops up and it resets the altimeter, in my case it defaults at 3600ft. I have tried many different ways to zero it in but once i get down to 800 ft it just resets itself. How do i prevent this? Is there a way i can set the default to 0?
  4. Yep thanks for the clarification. BTW I was the lucky retriever of your lost main
  5. Even if you are the most meticulous packer in the world, shit can still go wrong(line overs, nasty off heading openings, etc) Some off these things can be also attributed to the jumper(bad body position). Recently, I was packing for a guy and one of his openings separated his stabilizer from his end cell. As it turns out, opening in a track isn't the best body position to open your parachute
  6. Jerry, I was out at kapowsin one of the days when you did some of your test jumps. I remembered that the RAX failed and the test jumper went to the belly reserve. Could you give some insight on why/how it failed that particular time? (edit for spelling)
  7. Mirage released a service bulletin that required the cutter location to be changed on their rigs. http://www.parachutemanuals.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=0&func=fileinfo&id=37 Kinda their way of not changing the manual but updating their procedure. Take note you should always look up service bulletins before you start packing. Happy rigging
  8. For starters i recommend reading the poynters manuals. Item numbers. B1876 poynters manual 1 B1891 poynters manual 2 B2007 parachute riggers handbook written by sandy reid. paragear.com the last one can be downloaded from the FAA site i believe.

You're correct because it is actually called a GPSr (Global Positing System Receiver) hence them name it receives the signal. GPS is the acronym for the whole system satellites, etc. etc.

    Zune?

I got a story for that as to why you might as well buy a new one. One day I was cleaning bleachers after a basketball game. While doing this I generated a lot of static electricity all the while my ipod was in my pocket(30gig Vid). I happened to touch a metal bar which fried my ipod. So I called apple and said my ipod just shocked me:). A Few days later it starts working again but yet I still sent it off to have it "repaired" when i got it back it was just a brand new one. Which means they obviously don't look at them when they come in for service . The good thing is that it was still under warranty So that brings a question if that 250 is going towards having it repaired or if you are just buying a new one

  18. Agreed that my question is a little off topic but..... what i'm trying to get at is that the whole situation could have been avoided if the user would have done some homework and checked out the product before buying it, like a said before there are tons of reports of vigil problems.
  19. I'll agree with your statement But there are tons of reports of vigil mis firings and other problems also associated with it. Now i've got a question for you. Why would you not do some research on a product before buying it?
  20. When exactly did you buy the vigil? I can see your dilemma if you bought one when they first came out, but if they had been out for a while a little research could have been done on your part to determine the potential issues associated with the vigil.
