  1. thanks! now we appreciate even more having a ready made hypeye!
  2. no vignette, weight: 75 grams, lenght: 22mm, diameter: 80 mm. P.M. for more info... Thanks!
  3. someone ask me about what I have in front of the cameras: they are custom 0.6 wide angle converters, the horizontal angle become equal to a 16mm lens in a FF camera, very wide!
  4. For those who want to get a Sony video with the awesome Balance Optical Steadyshot and be able to use a Hypeye, the new models (Pal: CX610e/PJ530e/PJ540e/PJ610e and NTSC: CX540/PJ540), replacing the CX410/430 are not compatible with the VMC-AVM1 adapter. Only the bigger/heavier/expensive models are (Pal: PJ810e/PJ820e and NTSC: PJ810/PJ820, but on those you need to flip the screen or pull the viewfinder to power it on). Already bought a second CX410 as a back up before they're all gone...
  5. I think the quality of a gopro 3 is better than any Sony CX1** series, but for working or training, you're used to an steadier image, a hypeye, a big swiwable screen to check the footage on the plane or the ground, a good indicator of battery time remaining and memory, an easy to use osd menu, bigger batteries, etc. But, nothing is forever...
  6. the key is to use an angle connector: You can find ready made switchs here: http://www.exitequipment.com/products_xq014.2_details.html Or buy the cable in ebay and make it yourself: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121208075528 Good luck!
  7. can you tell me which wide angle you used with the 760? Thanks
  8. yes, the 5r is the Nex to get, the autofocus is better than in the 5 and the 5n, and getting good results using manual focus is hard. I also have the Nex6 and the electronic viewfinder is awesome! the future is here, no more slr's for most uses...
  9. The 15mm is a normal fisheye, which gives you 180 degrees angle diagonally, in a 3x2 format. The 8mm is a circular fisheye which gives you a 180 degrees angle horizontally and vertically, means a round image in the center of the 3x2 frame. Both gives you this resuts in a full frame sensor camera. In a cropped sensor camera, the 4,5mm gives you the 8mm (in a FF) results and the 15mm will give you something like a 21 mm lens. Check this chart... Hope its help.
  10. you don't need to buy another housing, you can buy this adapter and filters, and fix both the focus and white balance problems underwater. http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/Products/blurfix-kit--original.aspx http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/55mm-filters Good luck!
  11. Everybody is buying CX410 (Europe's 430) here in Empuria, and blowing their minds off... I think is a game changer, like when the digital minidv cams appears in the mid '90's, no more tape flutter!. Now is no more image shake! Works fine with a filter on, hypeye and VMC-AVM1 adapter. To use a wide angle adaptor needs the Hypeye 2011 version, or will no focus. BOSS RULES!!!
  12. Hi All, after 22 years jumping camera helmets without cutaways, Im starting to think about installing them (maybe is the age, also I installed skyhooks in all my rigs ;-) What about the retrofit hinge for the Flat Top pro? http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/m8/656--flat-top-cutaway-hinge-retrofit.html Someone used it in an actual jump? works smoothly? Thanks!
  13. Hi Trunk, I have the CX210, and 3 Hypeyes that didn't work with it, kind of a bummer, they cost 1/3 of the camera price... Besides the wide angle focus thing, I can't get video out from its port, thats also is fixed on the 2011 version? Thanks!
  14. I can't get video out from the debrief port with a new CX210. The image appears briefly when I turn on the camera, and then nothing...Anybody has the same problem? Thanks
  15. you can easily adapt an slr (or rangefinder) lens to a mirrorless camera, but not the other way around, its need to be much closer to the sensor and will interfere with the mirror.
  16. Hi Wendy, awesome camera, congratulations! The angled adaptor is the N90AD in this site: http://pc-mobile.net/nikongps.htm One of the best thing of using nikons for jumping is their wide angles lenses: 10.5 and 16 mm, nice and small, but costly like any good glass. The 18-55 is pretty good too. Good luck! Gustavo
  17. get a CX110 before they are all gone, much better than the CX100. You'll need an SD card. The CX150 is the same but with internal memory, and more expensive. Best lens for it is the Century 0.55: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/229934-REG/Century_Precision_Optics_0DS_55WA_37_DS_55WA_37_0_55x_Wide_Angle.html Good luck.
  18. but the 50/60 frames a second doesn't make a big difference for us or I dreaming? when there's movement, people crossing the frame, shooting without wide angle... About the adapter: I can see in the cx250/260 and up models some kind of bayonet, but in the basic models 190/200/210 looks like there's nothing. Thanks.
  19. there's 2 new CXs with electronic steadyshot and 60/50 fr/sec recording (AVCHD ver.2), which should be nice for us, but they came with a great joke from Sony: they don't have filter threads!!! CX190 and CX210 (with an 'e" for Pal Europe. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/indepth/sony/announcements/new-sony-camcorder-lineup-revealed-ces http://www.sony.co.uk/product/cam-high-definition-on-memory-stick/hdr-cx190e#pageType=TechnicalSpecs http://www.sony.co.uk/product/cam-high-definition-on-memory-stick/hdr-cx210e#pageType=TechnicalSpecs Anyway, electronic steadyshot is back and a box with filter thread will do...
  20. Hi Phil, I don't understand why you keep saying the new CXs cams have narrower angle, when is exactly the opposite, maybe you test it with the active steadyshot mode on, then they are narrower, still not as much, but with standard or off, they are way wider. With the Century 0.55 are a perfect match! Best, Gustavo
  21. The CX110/115, CX150/155 cameras have much wider lenses than the previous ones. A Century 0.55 in them is wider than a Raynox 0.3 in the CX100/105, and most of the lenses including the Century 0.3 vignettes, except the Raynox 0.3 and Century 0.55. I believe a CX110/115, CX150/155 with a Century 0.55 is a perfect combination, you can even zoom in half trough it!
  22. Nikon D3100 is a lovely little cam... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/736704-REG/Nikon_9798_D3100_Digital_SLR_Camera.html
