  1. typical tv crap... BUT, Mark Harris camera moves at break off are AWESOME!!! congrats Man, Im sure you enjoy it Gustavo
  2. Hi All, as previous years I like to organize the third edition of the EmpuriaFlock here in the beautiful Costa Brava, at around the same dates than before: end of April, beginning of May. I waiting to hear back from the load organizers... More news to come... Gustavo
  3. Hi Mark, I think is more like a flutter, I never uploaded a video before, lets see what I can do... Today I received the bare Hypeye, the UW project is full ahead, thank you very much! Gustavo
  4. Two days ago I got the CX505 (as the 500 & 520), for its high sensibility to use it underwater, and I must say Im really impress. The screen is amazing, the active steadyshot works nice when you move around, kind of an steady cam, and shooting in low light is unbelievable, almost no noise!. The 12 mpx stills are good, but of course, when shooting at the same time of video (in 8.3 mpx), take lots of time to empty the buffer. The slowmo is a tad better, but still far from smooth. The handling and feeling is much better than the CX100 because is bigger and heavier, controls are more responsive, has remote, and you can connect a microphone with an adaptor. I jumped it yesterday, and is not as bad as the HC7, but there some shaky results when the helmet is in the burble, like in an stand up at high speed. Doesn't make much sense in spend twice as much to buy this one instead of the CX100/105 which is perfect for skydiving. Small & light, thats what we need... This time I expect it, but with this one I complete the trilogy: TRV900 + HC7 + CX505 = shake...baby...shake!
  5. Yes, using the HA-2 lens adaptor, to protect the lens, and a USB mini-B extension cable... Gustavo Pd. the GX100 is slower and have a smaller buffer the GX200, Ill go with the 200 instead...
  6. Get a Ricoh GX200...and then save your neck, and your wallet too...
  7. yep, thats confirm the manufacturers can do whatever they want, they just keep adding a few new things, to keep us buying new cameras all the time... Still I think the GX200 is better, full manual, dng / raw, adapter for wide angle lens, etc. Except the slowness for adjust the exposure during a sequence, Im happy with it. I promised a review...but later... for now some pics:
  8. I remember an old movie from Leo Dickinson called "Right Up the Zipper", where they use a rotating 16mm cam to shoot, guess what? the first 100 way attempts in Deland in the eighties, but I think that one get stuck...all this from what I remember... Ill dig in my archive of old vhs tapes, and take a look. Now should be the norm in big ways: the guy in the base get the roto-helmet Awesome views! thanks for build it Jim!
  9. they are in full resolution, can be 12 megapixels, but I prefer the traditional 3:2 format (10.58 mpx), files size are 3984x2656, around 3.8 mb. This is a nice little camera...
  10. I tried in continuous mode on the ground, and with the release button pressed for 45 seconds, the camera took 61 pictures, thats 1.36 frames a second, not too bad....
  11. ejem, frames per second? One and thanks... It keep you sharp on exit, you have only one chance!
  12. Hi All, I set up and jump a Ricoh GX200 for a week, and Im fine with the results, good and fast enough for tandems, 220 grams and minimal size. After the CX105 any dslr looks too big... Ill write a report later... Gustavo
  13. yep, maybe he didn't know about the private message button... But if you want to know what he says in spanish, a translator is your friend: From Babelfish: "Hello, you know who this making you marry for the CX-100. I have rawa vision where podria to put like top mount, but, gustaria to change to the helmet TV to me. Me podrias to recommend something." Wait a minute, looks like your babelfish friend is a little drunk and stoned...
  14. Hola Fabricio, Mario Modica de Exit Composites en Buenos Aires ya las fabrica: [email protected]. Salu2, Gustavo Exit Composites from Argentina is manufacturing cases for the CX100: www.exitcomposites.com
  15. yep, mine broke in a few days, I used a long rubber band around the camera to keep it from moving. Ill do some kind of mold with epoxi to fix it in place. Stupid GPS port...
  16. is not a miniusb plug, is a propietary plug for the shutter release, but only for the D70s and D80. For the D70 you can try to modifie a wireless remote... Good Luck.
  17. I was cave diving in Palma de Mallorca last week... The Century is heavier, but better quality than any 0.3. and the cx105 lighter anyway, to compensate As allways is down to personal needs...for me is extra work to have that big chunk of glass which need to take care off all the time, to not scratch it...
  18. yeah, I saw several boxes like this one, and helmets jumped by russian cameramans, and they are awesome... A question about dubbing with the CX100/105: seems like is not possible with the 105 to dub from the card to the internal memory, only in reverse. Is the same with the CX100? Thanks.
  19. Yep, mine start to fail at the second day of use, I put a rubber band around the camera and keep shooting, but the next day, the camera break down completely, the mirror got loose, and gives error. Is on the service now. I was pretty happy with the camera until then. I gonna build a support for the connector with epoxi, if it can't move should stay doing good contact... stupid gps... Also, when first fail in the plane, I put the camera on video, and jump it, and was amaze at the quality of the 10,5 lens, fish eye quality corner to corner, way better than the century 0.3 on the HC5. BUT, unfortunably, the thing with the exposure/ shutter or whatever it is, makes the footage unusable, the adjustment of the exposure is not smooth...
  20. Cut the cable close to the push button, should be 3 wires inside. 2 of them goes together, and release the shutter when contact the third one. You need to try until you'll find the correct combination. Make sure you can check the display and the menu, one combination of cables allows you to shoot, but not that... Blow, bite or push with the tongue, is only a matter of choice, I tried all and choose blow, most people here like tongue. You can buy the bite, tongue or blow switches with leads to solder to your release cable in Paragear or Square one, etc... http://www.paragear.com/templates/parachutes.asp?group=455&level=1 http://www.square1.com/manufacturers/square1/p522.asp#TongueSwitch Good luck! Gustavo
  21. I have the Century in front of me and looks pretty much the same, but with 2 differences: -The Opteka has a rigid hood, and even comes with the screwdriver to adjust it after put the lens in the camera. The Century has a crapy soft one, which need to be gaffertaped to not come off. And a crapy lens cap too. -and for 1/3 of the price is a no brainer. If you want a real fish eye, buy it, but remember is big and heavy in an CX100...
  22. I got a Sony Pro Duo Magic Gate mark 2 16 gigs, no problem, 2 hours of HD video... My rule for memory and batteries: I don't buy them from Ebay, too easy to get fake ones! go with B&H...
  23. The Century 0.3 is the best fish eye lens for videocams you can buy, but: its expensive, and you need to take care not to scratch the big element in front. I love mine, perfect match with the 10.5mm lens in my Nikons.
  24. maybe a zkulls attachment system? http://www.rcb-lab.com/index.php/attachment-systems
