  1. I heard they just took the tennis shoes off the guy? Keep in mind, these were 3 bad guys looking for trouble in the wrong neighborhood, and they found it. They were definitely out looking to steal cars. One of those bad guys was busted less than a week later for armed robbery on the subway (..stealing another guy's necklace off his neck, after jacking a round into the chamber to demonstrate the gun was real). It _does not_ take a rocket scientist to look at some of these people and realize they have less than altruistic motives in mind. Like I said earlier, I'm a moderate man. But, turning the other cheek tends to make you a target, especially in NYC. It doesn't make sense to be rational when you're dealing with irrational people. And, yes, I'm a rational person. 2. OMG! (first roundabout picture). I spent two years in Scotland, and was given a car right off the plane (no instruction). Within 10 minutes, I hit a round about and had _no_ idea what to do. It took about a month to get right hand turns correct (...I'd always end up in the wrong lane). Will never forget the screams of some natives riding with me shortly after I came into the country... Likewise, never knew it was illegal to undertake, until I did it to a young cop in Edinburgh. That's the meanest a cop has _ever_ been to me. His partner was older, and had been to America. So, he let young cop chew me out, then told me how things were different in Scotland. BTW - Black Adder rocked! We are all engines of karma
  3. Oh, man, that must be hard. I grew up in the deep south. Both my grandmother and great-grandmother were married at 14, first babies at 15. We are all engines of karma

  5. Apparently, the bat people did know they were trying to steal a car. We are all engines of karma

  7. Don't ever fly AirTrans. Flew them once round trip from NYC to Memphis. I fully expected someone to get on the flight with a live chicken. Flight(s) were horrible in every way. On the flight back, one of the two rear mounted engines was not working properly. The pilot had to _yank_ us back onto the center line _3_ times before rotation. Then, he easily lost 5k during a left hand turn at 15k. Scared me to death. We are all engines of karma

  9. What's even worse is, one of the 3 black guys was arrested within a week for armed robbery on the subway! I'm a moderate man, but sometimes righteous violence is called for. Unfortunately, you're not even allowed to shoot a guy who breaks into your house in New York. We are all engines of karma
  10. He left the hospital wearing a motorcycle helmet . I doubt he'll ever try to steal another car in an Italian neighborhood (nor will his friends). ========================================== Filed at 11:37 a.m. ET NEW YORK (AP) -- A man has been released from the hospital two weeks after he was beaten with a baseball bat in an alleged bias attack in the Howard Beach section of Queens, site of an infamous racial confrontation two decades ago. Glen Moore, 22, who is black, suffered a fractured skull in the attack last month by three white men, authorities said. He was recuperating at home after leaving the hospital Wednesday, according to his stepfather, Thomas Eison. ''He's trying to relax and take it easy,'' Eison said. ''He's trying to enjoy his first day home.'' Two of the alleged attackers have been charged with robbery and assault as a hate crime. The third man was being described as a witness. The attack happened blocks from where three black men were beaten in 1986 by a white mob after the victims' car broke down. One of the men, Michael Griffith, was killed by a car as he fled. 11. Ebbers should have taken up preaching instead of teaching Sunday School... A Los Angeles (or Montgomery) jury would have helped, too. We are all engines of karma

  19. My understanding is only some of the "60-year-old" princes are funding this crap, not all of them. Now, they probably do look out for each other, but, there has to be some way to get the bad apples out. We are all engines of karma
  20. I have an implant. Thought long and hard between bridge and implant. Went with implant, and am glad I did. My OS was very good, and the procedure was _painless_. Throbbed for a couple of days afterward, and then it was over. We are all engines of karma

  22. Back in the 80s, Chevron invested heavily in shale oil extraction technology. It was break even around $60/barrel, at that time. Likewise, Exxon invested heavily in coal gasification technology. Don't know what the break even was, but the project was canned. We are all engines of karma
  23. For what this is worth... In Saudi Arabia: 1) During prayer time, if you are caught walking the street you go to jail. 2) If a non-Muslim goes to a "chop-chop" square (where they do beheadings), the crowd will force you right up to the executioner so that you get blood on you. Pretty extreme stuff, and they're trying to export this religion. I still don't understand why we aren't going after the money instead of the small guys with guns in their hands.
