  1. Qui è il collegamento al Web site del Perris... http://www.skydiveperris.com/ Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
  2. good point, i totally forgot about traffic... we don't get such a thing out in 29 palms. Joshua tree national park is like 5-10 minutes from my place... i go there all the time. tons-o-fun! gets damn cold out here at night though. It's gonna be like 27 degrees here and if you go up to the national park, dependent upon where in the park you go, you can take off another 10+ degrees. there's plenty of hotels and motels around the base here. Big bear is also just down the road from where I'm at too. The lifts are open, so if you're into skiing or snowboarding, there's another spot you can hit. There's actually like 4 or 5 different places on that mountain to go snowboarding. There's lots of ice rinks out here too. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. 3. It's about an hour from the I-5 if you take ortega highway (which I don't reccommend... I rolled my truck on it... pretty dangerous highway) it's about and hour and 15-20 min. if you take HWY-91 East to I-15 South to HWY 74 East Straight into Perris. Turn Right onto D-street, Go to the end of that street (about 4 or 5 blocks) and turn left at the stop sign (you can only go left or right there). After turning left, go straight through the next stop sign (1 block) and turn right at the following stop sign (1 more block). You'll go straight through a street light (preferably while the light is green) and it'll be about a block's distance up on your left. (You should be able to see the windtunnel from the main road.) There's a blue and white windblade at the road where you turn into the parking lot. The road in front of the DZ is Goetz Rd. When in doubt, look up and if you see skydivers, it's a good sign... just head towards where they land.

    RAPE ME

Congrats... glad it worked out for you.
6. have you found a pic of the gear yet? I don't jump much... right now I'm just trying to stay current, but if you can get pics, I'll post 'em at Perris (my DZ) and pass em out over the Christmas boogie. Probably a good time to pass 'em out. I know you're on the other side of the country, but nowadays, it doesn't take long for things to move great distances. Let me know if there's any ideas you come up with for locating your gear and I'll try and make it work. Good luck man. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Jury duty

I guess in the jury duty aspect of things, I'm pretty lucky I don't have to worry about it. I currently don't have to even show up. Of course, I'm in the military, so there are worse things that could happen than jury duty. But I don't have to deal with it for now. Is a 4-5 year contract worth getting out of it for ya? 8. Nice quote... do you play off of social norms as well? Try going into an elevator and face the back instead of the door. (Most people don't notice they face the door.) Or sit right next to someone on a bus when it's practically empty and watch their reaction. (If you're in the states.) Mexico doesn't have the "bubble" we have become accustomed (spelling?) to. Happens all the time in Mexico. In the states, they'll look at you funny or they'll move to get away from your crazy arse. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. 13. Believe me, I use hearing protection when it is to my advantage as often as possible, however, I will, without a doubt, sacrifice a little bit of my hearing for the overall safety of others. The shooting range is the perfect example. If I'm close enough to the centerman to hear him, (he does use a loudspeaker, but it's not very loud.) then I'll use my hearing protection as required. However, I usually, for some reason, tend to get put on one of the far ends of the line, putting me at a fair distance from the speaker and the centerman. This is why I take ONE earplug out. I always take out the same one so that if I do lose hearing, it's only in one ear. Cease Fire is a command that is not only called when a certain qualifying round is over, but also anytime safety has been compromised in some way or another. This is of the utmost importance to be able to hear. Hence, I'm willing to sacrifice a little hearing loss for that increase in safety. To save you from having to ask the question, no, I don't have the option to switch to a closer location in reference to the centerman. The range is always grouped by unit (there are many various units on my base) and there's always at least 3 units qualifying. They establish your firing pit number prior to shooting and requesting a closer location to the centerman due to my issue never seems to be important enough for those running the rifle range. (Something I'm not pleased about by any means.) I'm definately supportive of your ideas to inform and provide the option of additional hearing protection at the DZ. Great suggestion. 14. I'm definately Gonzo... My last name's Gonzales, I'm the weirdest person I know, and I have muppets tattooed on my back with Gonzo as the centerpiece!!! (See pic) If that pic isn't big enough, let me know. (Or you can just go to this link... it's like myspace, but for people with tattoos. Ya, I'm on myspace too.) http://www.inkednation.com/r/r.cfm?t=29&DisplayUser_ID=79974 http://www.myspace.com/gonzosplace (Plus Gonzo is my nickname pretty much everywhere now. In Wisconsin, in Mississippi, in California, at the DZ... ya, I'm pretty much stuck with it.) Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. 15. I'm in the corps too... I worked at the commissary on base for a while. I'm in 29 palms, and our commissary is contracted out to some outside company. they paid $12.13/hr. I stocked shelves at night but it took a huge chunk out of my free time. Plus the boss lady sucked. She kept hookin up her family and friends, but I'll save that story for another forum. Long story short, I quit. Now I wish I still worked there cuz the money was all in all worth all the BS. Check with your higher ups before gettin a second job though. 17. Personally, I think we should be entitled to our own opinion as far as hearing protection in the aircraft and freefall. Seatbelts are one thing... they save lives, but requiring people to use earplugs is quite another. We can only go so far with requirements before it becomes a hand-holding trip from takeoff to touchdown. Laws for "the good of everyone" are becoming more and more common. I feel that we need to allow people to make mistakes throughout life or else the babysitting of other full grown adults will continue to get worse over time. I'm not putting down your reccommendation to others about hearing protection, just stating my thoughts on trying to make it another requirement to jump. I for one don't have any issues with sound during any portion of the trip. I do, however have some hearing loss (another young buck at age 22) due to my activities as a young adult and my occupation. I'm active duty in the Marine Corps, and when we do our annual rifle score qualifications, we're required to wear hearing protection. I, unfortunately, need to remove one of my two earplugs when firing though due to my poor state of hearing. At the center of the shooting line is the designated centerman who gives all commands such as commence firing, and most importantly, cease fire. In order to be able to hear him, I need to take out one of my earplugs. It's not something I want to do, but it's much more of a safety hazard to leave them in and continue firing when everyone needs to stop for some reason. (Let's just say someone pulling targets for some reason stands up into view of the shooters. Definately bad news... especially around Marines.) Sorry for making this so long, but I just wanted to make a point that sometimes we need to break rules to heed more important ones (i.e. hearing your audi) and sometimes we need to make strong suggestions instead of rules and laws. OK, I'm done... I'm going to go ice down my fingers now from all this key tapping... Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. 18. Gunny, I'm assuming you're going for Corps colors... I'd have to agree with you on #3... Looks good, matches the Corps colors really well and definately sticks out. If I'm incorrect with the coloring idea, then go with a black center cell to help hide some of that packing dirt. -Gonzo (Corporal of Marines) Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. farts

One of my fav's is from the blue collar comedy tour where he mentions 5 guys in a car, 4 trying to crawl out the windows and the one in the middle seat just laughing his arse off! Reminds me of something I did... I was driving (I'm notorious for clearing both confined and very spacious areas) and I let a few fire in rapid succession. Of course, I was on the driver's side, so I turned on the window lock and laughed hysterically as everyone else in the car frantically pressed the window button rapidly trying to get it to work and roll down the window. During hockey season, when someone farts, a puff of steam often times rises out of their breezers (shorts). I work in what strongly resembles storage containers which we for some reason call vans. (From the outside.) They're fitted with a/c and heat, which recurculates the air. the air inlet is on the opposite side of air outlet with a door separating the two sides. Usually the door stays open, but I had closed it because my coworker had been blasting us all morning. About 15 minutes after closing the door, the a/c kicked on and within 15 seconds, I came flying through the door to yell at my buddy for, again, busting ass in a confined space. He was laughing hysterically and proceeded to inform me that he had intentionally stuck his rear end inches from the intake (on his side of the van) so that it would recirculate over to my side... Since then, I've declared war and sworn to return with a counter-strike with what could be considered as either a WMD or chemical warfare. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. 20. Well, that pretty much makes up my mind on new risers!!!
  21. Not right now, but they're used risers for $30, so the extra price part doesn't come into play. What kind of complications? By the sound of it, I'm already veering far from this decision. 22. Makes sense, as not all containers fit the exact same sizes (max and min.) So far, I've heard little more than negative comments on CRW risers. Not quite sure why. Seemed like the person's personal preference, because they were badmouthing the big loops on the front risers. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. 23. I've checked the classifieds and found a few pc's I'm looking at. Trying to get the cheapest good condition items I can find. As far as D-bags go, I bought one but I don't think it's the right size, so I'm trying to buy a different one. I'm waiting to get my main to verify that. I should be getting my main here in a week or so. I haven't checked with Relative Workshop, but I have looked online at a few places. The only online joint I can find a d-bag at is paragear.com. The cheapest bag they've got is $70. It says it's for a wings, but it doesn't seem like there's that much of a difference between the d-bags of each manufacturer. 24. I'm putting together a rig I bought that was short a few imortant parts. I need a main d-bag for a Vector 2 V1-1 and main pilot chute. I'm looking for used items since the military doesn't pay us much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse.
