  1. Ah that was Norman Kent, what an honor! Did you tell him not to walk on concrete with his booties on? And I think Marco meant a bag lock. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  2. Haha, you said MIGHT! You might never use your reserve canopy, but you still jump that every time. Besides, there is nothing to mess with (maybe just a snap to connect the two cabels on the chest). And your SM1 doesn't have to have a cutaway system. I think a lot of people are afraid of the big wings (unrightfully so since it is easy to fly and remarkably easy to get the hackey compared to other suits) and being able to get rid of them quickly will probably set their minds at ease a bit. Just playing devils advocate, it's still the best suit there is!
  3. But Tony, what exactly is your objection to an armwing cutaway system? You can just add a birdman style cable through tabs and a connect it on the chest. Are you worried about air leaking out when backflying? Because I don't think that would be a big problem. You could maybe even get it a kinda airlocked by putting a strip of fabric behind it or something. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

  5. That was at the Italian wingsuit competition in Arezzo, Italy. All in one week
  6. It's working! And before angry fans start sending me their phone bills, it's 109Mb!
  7. I know, I was a bit premature. Still uploading... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  8. It will probably be just for the weekend. Leave Friday evening and return Sunday evening. I also have to go to "work". 27-28 oct at Bex looks good, I'll be there
  9. I personally don't like the Mercury wing, I haven't tried it but I just don't like the idea. I want my foot attached to the wing even if the Mercury flies smoother and easier (maybe I'm just stubborn). However, I am going to make a bald statement now. I think the SM1 is the best wingsuit for skydiving so far. While for years just barely getting past 2min on a flight I can suddenly fly more than 3 min with 30mph averages. It's also strange that there is almost no fatigue, probably because the arm wing is attached to the upper leg which takes some of the load off your arms. It has solid inflation, no flapping, easy back flying, good fit (very important). It still needs some fine tuning. Most people would for instance like a better arm cutaway system. I would like a longer leg wing to beat Robi in distance
  10. No specific plans yet. I'll be renting a car. I have two people also interested. Maybe if we are in a bigger group we can rent a van?! Lets ask around. Maybe we can even stop at Raron or Sion to make one or two jumps. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  11. I'll be there. Shouldn't you be in Casablanca?
  12. Sounds like necrofielia no, that's when you get a bit too excited in a rigor mortis. This is more like a ghost buster... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  13. nah, she wasn't pointing and gasping for air Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  14. I'm not sure, there is still a little language barrier between me and the frenchies. but when she said little problem she put the index finger and thumb close together so I'm guessing a screw... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  15. Whohaha, I got my SM1, aint it sweet but as luck should have it I still cant try it out. Pilatus has found some problem with the porter and every porter has to be checked at the factory so practically the whole of france switzerland and italy is not jumping for a week... argh. I guess I can practice for the italian wingsuit comp while cruising past the mont Blanc with Tony
  16. What about the F-14 Tomcat: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-14_Tomcat Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  17. Hey Chris! Thanks for letting me testfly it. I can only say one thing about it, OH MY F*CKING GOD THIS SUIT IS SO F*CKING FAST!!! I can't wait to try your home built suit when it's done
  18. Jetpack, schmetpack. Try these on for size: http://www.21stcentury.co.uk/technology/solotrek_xfv.asp http://www.gen-corp.jp/ And the best thing is you can fuel them at normal gas stations! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  19. Dear Robert, I hope you understand I was joking. But you don't understand what I mean. I meant get into the optimal flying position (which of course means tensing a lot of muscles) and then try to relax while maintaining the same body position. Now while still using the muscles you need for the performance you are not using the muscles that are not necessary. Sorry, can't explain it any better, it works for me... 20. Fatigue often results from tensing up muscles you don't actually need. This often happens when flying a suit you're not used to. That's why I though the Blade was much heavier on the arms and pecks than the V2. The trick I would give you is to get into the correct flying position and then relaxing all your muscles while maintaining the same body position. This will make you relax the muscles you don't really need and ultimately makes you less tired during a flight. Glad to be of service, Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  21. Jarno, I agree completely with your entire post which says a lot coming from a nonconformist like me. However, I think you're entire post is a waste. Although it's useless, I for one like to compare suits (and I know for a fact you do too
  22. Wasnt that settled already when Jeff outflew an upscaled prototype V2 in a production Mach1? It's not about the suit but the pilot Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
  23. Another detail: It has no release system, only direct risers. I also never understood the reason for a release mechanism, you don't have a reserve... The reserve of your skydive rig also doesn't have a release system... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
