  1. I took my last final yesterday! It is exciting. One year of college out of the way, and I graduate from high school on the 27th (yes, things can get a little backwards here in Twin Falls). "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  2. I have no idea what their insurance coverage is like...but they sure make good cookies. I found a box of cookies and other yummy things here at work from them. It was perfect because it has been one of those days where I really need chocolate. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  3. The lower the gauge number the thicker the bar. 20g is the smallest = .032" 00g is the largest (from what I know) = .364" "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  4. Don't let stereotypes get to you. Maybe some or most women act on emotion, but not all. Same goes for guys and reason. It depends on the individual. You are trying to lump people of the same gender together based on something that really has nothing to do with gender. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

Some information on this here "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  6. If you can't sleep now, do some of the things that you have to do tomorrow right now, and then sleep tomorrow during the time you would have been doing those things (you should be really tired by then). I do that all the time, which is probably why I have absolutely no sleep pattern at all... "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  7. (Being the huge Nirvana fan I am I can't believe I'm about to say this.) Kurt Cobain was not that great of a guitarist. The only thing that he was really talented at was writing lyrics that spoke of deep, private issues without ever really saying a word. He opened his life to the world in just the right way that no one would have a clue what he was actually talking about. ------ I am in love with Elvis to this day! I think he was very talented. He never had the advantages that artists today have with technology (ever heard of autotune?). I've heard scratch recordings of just his singing, and he is amazing. 8. While I'm post whoring... I ended up with a new cat yesterday and he needs a name. Anything comical should work. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  9. Home now... the night pics might be a little dark The 'crash' picture on here is perfect. It shows me (6) just as I scoot by the two cars (06 & 48) that crashed into each other. On the score board you can see our positions just prior to the accident. I had just slowed down enough to let the car closest to the red&white wall spin in font of me, and I had to hit the gas hard so the car closest to the scoreboard wouldn't come down the track on top of me. The other pictures are from later in the race, the lighter one is during practice, and then there is one of me all decked out in my race jacket (it was given to me by Ford) watching my daddy race . 10. I've read quite a few from Koontz. I after awhile I found the endings were almost predictable. The only one that really stuck in my mind was The Taking. Which also happened to be the first I read from him. Some of his books seem to have too much of a 'happy ending' for having such dark and complex plots. Cold Fire was one that actually scared me...then again it could have just been because I was on vacation in the same place the story was set, and the only time I had to read was in the middle of the night at my aunt's strange house. 11. I have some pics at home, but I'm at work now. I'll put them up soon. My car definitely wins the ugly contest on the track. Both my mom and I race it, and my dad raced it tonight in another class. This is its fourth year in the two classes with the most accidents, and it's never failed to start a race. It's really beat up, but it seems like every crash makes it run a little better.
  12. I think they did something with this on Mythbusters. I didn't see that episode, but I remember them showing it on a teaser...they might have something about it on the discovery channel website. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  13. I just got back from the speedway! I admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Nascar, but I LOVE driving. This is my third season, and it's off to a great start. Third place for me in the number 6. Here is proof: www.mylaps.com/results/newResults.jsp?id=147739 I laugh at myself because today I realized two things: 1. The part of racing that I find the most frightening is driving through the pits to line up because it's dark and race cars don't have headlights. 2. The time I'm the least scared is when I'm sitting in the line up with all my gear on and all my belts tightened down. So I'm sitting there, engines revving all around, five minutes before the race, and I have to keep myself from nodding off. I almost didn't race this season, but once I got on the track I was in love all over again. On the sixth lap there was a huge wreck right in front of me. The two cars to the inside of me were racing each other really hard. I could have passed them, but I knew they were going to wreck and I figured it would happen as soon as I got next to them. I let them duke it out. Coming out of the second turn they collided and spun opposite ways. I was a few inches away and squeezed in between them just before they both slid to the bottom of the track. Predicting and avoiding wrecks is by far my favorite part of the sport! Wasn't a bad night to watch either. In one of the classes one car broke an axle, and it and the tire flew into the fence in front of us at just under 70mph...that was exciting. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  14. Well, I hardly get to pick the music on my show, but my boss (who is very cool) can schedule whatever he wants. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

  16. I've been in radio for about a year now. My friend Scott Free has an awesome webradio station KRock-Echo. It's really good...I think he has better technology in his house that we have at our station. I got really lucky getting into radio here. I just wanted to learn how to produce so I interned for awhile, and they loved my voice. So here I am. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  17. had to take the duck joke down...this is better "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

  21. heh, you're right...I'll work on that right now. I've got most of the other stuff here. I'm thinking of just opening the mic and reading some random bonfire posts on the air...they're entertaining enough.

  24. I just looked that up on Amazon. It sounds interesting, though the Amazon readers didn't give it very good reviews (not that that always means anything). I'm finding it really interesting (so far). It gives a great background of the work and experiments used to test the hypothesis. In fact the first half of the book is simply a basic explanation of the science behind the experiments and why they were used in testing this hypothesis, as well as basic biology of the brain and which areas are active in religious experiences. There is also a summary of duality and the difference/sameness of the brain and the mind. I'm about halfway through it, and I love it because I simply feel educated reading it. I had never thought about some of the concepts put forth in the introduction, but then I was quite familiar with the functions of the different areas of the brain. Starting the chapter on myth-making tonight. Should be good! "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
