  2. Well they're wrappers with a money print . I have a job (in fact two of them)... and are you calling me hot? Or just college girls in general? "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  3. You should come to class on Tuesday when we have "Free Cash Flow Wednesday." Candy in money wrappers to all who participate! "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

  6. Well I counted my calories for today and came up with a whopping 1100 calories . I go up and down with eating habits. Some days it's close to 1000, while others I'm sure are more like 2200...still if i'm going to be picky enough to count calories I want to be sure I'm getting it right (I was able to today because the only things I made where a pancake and PB&J sandwich, which were ok to figure out.) 7. The problem with counting calories for me is that I like to cook and bake and I have no idea where to figure out calories for things like that. Usually it's a bunch of stuff in a casserole (turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy and cheese are popular). and honestly figuring calories for each of those things seems like it would be a pain...not to mention I'd never really be sure how much is in each serving once I cut it up for left-overs. I know it can be done, but if it's too much work I know I won't do it for long. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  8. I did my 100 at a little dz in Idaho. I was kinda pissed at first because I thought nothing got planned for the jump, then I got a kiss pass from the DZO, my boyfriend, and then the DZO kiss my boyfriend...to top it all off I got pied, and the video is on the end of year video the local jumpers put together every year. Oh...and the shower afterward was fairly eventful.
  9. I need major help with changing my habits! I really don't need to lose much weight, but it seems like the only time I have been able to lose anything is in the middle of the summer when I'm sweating non stop. It seems like working up a good sweat is the answer, but I have a really hard time doing it. I was a ballerina for 15 years, and I am really strong, so when I workout i don't get tired, and i never sweat from it. Plus, I have zero motivation...usually I only last a few days on a workout plan. Also, I have no time to go to a gym (two jobs with odd hours and full time college) on a regular basis, and absolutely no money for it either. As far as eating habits go, I've always believed in just listening to my body, which means tons of milk, little water (seriously the nastiest thing ever), and tons of carbs! I always graze through the day with granola bars, banana chips, juice, and mashed potatoes. I have a slimfast in the morning (because I hate breakfast) and something of substance for dinner (the only time of the day I'll eat meat). I am one of the seemingly few people that wouldn't mind drinking the majority of my meals, but healthy drinks (I like odwalla super food) are so expensive. It seems like my tastes are off from other people and I have no idea where to start (and I'm usually too uncomfortable to ask). so there, I'm asking...any ideas? 10. Are you making this up? Do other people have this reaction from "outsiders" too? Everyone that finds out about my jumping thinks it's really cool, and they want to know how many jumps I have, and how the gear works, and how safe is it really? Everyone at my work (at the gym, not the rigging loft) thinks it's great, and they tell their students about me. i've rarely had a negative reaction from anyone. The worst was my grandfather asking why base jumping wasn't illegal, but he really isn't upset about me jumping. Then again, most of my friends are young, everyone I work with is under 35, and everyone else I know is a jumper (or somehow related to one) ...so that may be the difference. 12. From the looks of the WS data, you guys are dirty-low pullers! "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  13. Qualifying was pretty interesting today. I would say that some of these rookies really have a shot. Though i'm hoping for Jr. because I honestly just like seeing him win. (Even though the latest commercial I saw him in is a disgrace!) edit for: BTW, All you guys that think Nascar is lame are missing out on some freaking hot girls! 14. Origional is what you weighed the very first week (this will stay the same). Last was what you weighed one week ago. Current is what you weigh today. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  15. I died once in a dream where I drove off a cliff. I was some how thrown out of the car, and I could hear the wind getting louder. After saying, "wake up!' to myself about 10 times I thought..."Wow this isn't a dream", and I relaxed. A second later everything went black, and my body was limp. I thought, "This is it, hummm." I tried moving but nothing happened. I woke up quite some time later... It was creepy. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  16. I think all of that is just insane! I raised three puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. They only train dogs from their own breeding stock, they provide lots of care for their puppies, working, and retired dogs, and in the end they GIVE these dogs to the blind person for FREE. Granted GDB has been around for a long time, but still $29,000 is crazy. I have worked with different "working" dogs, mainly guide dogs. Also, I worked with a few children with autism using ABA. I agree that trying to raise puppies is going to be way too challenging by yourself. Full gown dogs that already have basic training is going to be your best bet. I know that Guide Dogs adopts out dogs that don't work in their program (usually for things like minor problems), and I know tons of dogs that are now S&R or therapy dogs that used to be guide dogs. So try checking that type of place out for some adult dogs. As for the socializing aspect, if the dog doesn't create a bond with the child I would be really concerned. There are definite rules that need to be followed so the dog "knows it's place." Things like only eating things out of its bowl, and not sleeping on the bed, are things that simply help the dog be more "trainable." The dog should be a part of the family, but it should never be above (in the dogs mind...think alpha male) anyone in the family, even the smallest kids. Also, these rules help them not to get too over protective of the child, because then they will be shielding the child from the world, which would obviously be counterproductive. TurboTax has a freedom version that you can use for free if you fit the requirements. So if anyone is super poor like me you can use that.
  20. Oooh, very nice. Too bad you're not in Southern Idaho. That tat would be right up the alley for the girl that did mine. Mine is only 1" by 2" and I paid $50 for it. Her artwork is always so bright and colorful. http://scorch.slavedragon.com/tattoos.shtml "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  21. Hmmm... I wanted to get a new tat, but after getting the first one touched up last month I remembered why i didn't want to get a second one. But then again, maybe I should just pick a less sensitive place for it.
  22. What would it entail? "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  23. I had a hard time trying to change mine too. change it to none first and then try to upload the new one. Also, i couldn't do it with safari, so if you're using that you might have to try a different browser. firefox worked for me. "I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage
  24. I was around the bridge a lot when that name seemed to really take as the name of the free courses. From what I remember, someone independently came up with the idea to make Tshirts one year that said "death camp" on them. After that, I never really heard it called anythign else. From the parts I've seen of this course compared to the parts I've seen of other courses (mainly apex, but also a few private ones) I'd would say that Tom's appear to be way more comprehensive, and more useful for a jumper when they are finally on their own. Then again, I have never sat through an entire real FJC, but those have been my impressions. I have seen the same thing of jumpers trying unpacked jumps very soon after finishing courses. I honestly don't think that teaching techniques for unpacked jumps in a FJC is a bad idea, particularly in this course where applicants seemingly screened to be people that take advice but think for themselves (this is assumed by me from the criteria in the application itself).
