  1. I think it's just the way the helmet sits on your head...Me mate Andy's got one, and although it looks wonky to look at, the angle is perfect when on your head...and at £125 for the full shebang, I like the price as well... PS No Jessops yet...need to pay off the Crossfire first...mmm...tangerine and blackberry... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  2. Don't get an IP-7... It will inevitably lead to buying a new Crossfire out of depression... I like the look of the FF2 helemts...but also give Headshield a look, much cheaper, but still good quality.. --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  3. The last time I ever paid anyone to pack for me... I couldn't find my frap hat, so I took my old Pro-Tec...spotted the Hop-n-Pop from 5k...exited, deployed, and found my frap hat! Started spiralling down to catch it, but realised where it was going and landed normally, next to it, smack bang in the centre of the pit...put it on and walked back to the hangar...DZ control thought I'd lost my pilot chute or bag! Like I said...the last time someone else packed my kit! --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  4. I think the deciding factor was those cunning Icarus guys sending over Hector, my longlost twin...We were even wearing the same Icarus T-shirt... tres spooky...And when I rang my bank and found I had enough for the XFire, and a whole £15 left over, I thought, well this is meant to be! --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  5. To quote Aggie D: That is exactly how I went about it with my last canopy, I was just wondering whether 270s were recommended over 180s in a progression...
  6. An excellent piece of advice. But my question remains, once I get to the stage where my 90s are dialled in (however long that takes), will I benefit from dialling in the 180s before going to 270s, or will the extra altitude and latitude with rate of turn of a 270, once I have mastered 90s, be more benificial to producing good swoops? --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! 7. So I spoke to the guys from Icarus (including my long lost twin Hector) at the BPA AGM...and they persuaded me to part with the cash for a XFire2 169...It's already been taken off the stock list
  8. All the ripcord Student Zeroxes at my DZ have the closing loop on the bottom flap. I hve never seen a ripcord Student Zerox with the loop on the top flap... But like the Monkey-Man says...Email TSE --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  9. There are indeed two versions...We have one of each at Strathallan for use by club members, and to make them more funky, we decided to swap half the casing shells...cos of the attachment point, we had to drill a wee hole in the non flashing one.
  10. Hell, I learned a hell of a lot from just sitting there watching you patch my canopy and asking questions... That and walking the dog...learnt that a dog hates the Eloy sun... Got my UK rating 4 months ago...Say you're doing one of these and I'll be over in a shot... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  11. Gah! I must be losing my touch...I'll try one more time...Not when the rig is packed. When the reserve pin has been pulled, and the reserve pilot chute is deployed, you can see the gap...forget the rest of the rig (which is mostly very well designed), I'm just talking about the reserve pilot chute, when it's in active use...phew...that any clearer? Anyone else understand what I'm saying, sometimes another point of view can explain things better... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  12. Total Questions: 100 Questions answered Yes: 68 Maximum possible Score: 100 Score: 69 Percent impurity: 69 Percent purity: 31 Explanation: You answered "yes" to 69 of 100 questions, making you 69% Sex100 (31% non-Sex100); that is, you are 69% in the sex domain (your purity is 31%). Well...I don't smoke, drink or do drugs.... I've gotta do something... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  13. Sorry, I didn't explain myself fully, I didn't mean when the rig is packed, I meant in use...If you look at the pilot chute, there is room for lines etc to snag between the cap and the top of the pilotchute, on deployment... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  14. Question for ya...I know of at least one rigger who refuses to pack Wings, due the large gaps between the pop-top cap, and the apex of the pilot chute, caused by the method of attachment (4 pop studs...). He argues that you're just asking for a line to get caught in there...I personally feel that the gap is small enough, and the risk small enough, that I will pack them myself. This guy is my rigging mentor though, so I listen carefully to what he says... Is there a good (ie rigging, not cosmetic) reason for have the pop-top cap studded on rather than sewn? Or is it just so's a customer can change pop-top caps easier? --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  15. Or 10:30 till the tables start collapsing under the combined weight of skydivers dancing on them... Damn last year was good... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  16. Count me in...;) See yas all in a couple of weeks... Ru. --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  17. I think you're referring to the G-92 Turbine converted Dornier, which as far as I know, holds 15 skydivers. I have done about 150-200 jumps out of those, and have never seen more than 15 in them... The SMG-92 "Rocket" Turbine converted Finist takes 10 jumpers, and has a kick-ass rail/step, you can get 8/9 people out on it... both these planes are fuqin fast, and go to 15"000ft at Hibaldstow most every weekend...easily the best value turbine ticket in the country... Oh lord, won't you buy me, a G-92, My friends all jump Porters, it's makin me blue, Jumped Cessnas all my lifetime, Yes, Lord it's true, So Lord, won't you buy me, a G-92!!! --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! 19. Your parachute system has become unstable. You can either wait for the reserve to become available, or perform your reserve drills by pressing CUTAW-ALTI-RES. --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies

    WOT no helmet

Yeah, if he didn't have a Cypres, he would have only had one canopy out... [dons flameproof underwear] --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  21. That, and they're called the Paratec Freefly Team! --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  22. I've never seen a pilot chute below the canopy on landing like that before...am I just ignorant? Or had you just applied some serious brake/rear riser input to pop up a bit? --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  23. I've always used the finger-tight plus a 1/4 turn rule of thumb too... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  24. Oh how I had to restrain myself not to reply to that one... --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
  25. I was taught to reserve pack by TSE, and packed many Teardrops, and I have never heard of, or seen that modification...All teardrops I have seen have the normal safety stow. Was this a Superfly, or Classic Teardrop? When was it made? Contact Chris at TSE He'll sort you out :) Ru. --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
