Hey guys how are you, I just feel like talking about this because it was funny and exciting. so i had 1134 jumps and always had good openings, some line twist, some times i couldn't pull the pud becuase of wrong routing, so i pulled the pin, brakes coming undone on opening. and little things like that, i was overdue for a real mulfunction, 1135, 3rd Video jump of Sunday, i was turning back to backs no problem, I get on the load having a good time, playing with the student and the TI, jump, got a kick arse exit shot, play with the student in freefall, high 5 with him, tamdem opens really high around 6.5 get the opening shot, got on my belly damp by 5, felt wierd on opening kind of line twist, (i was screaming and laughing and having a good time kicking out of them). after i'm out the canopy dives to the right so i look up and i see a floping toggle, so i pull the other toggle, and canopy is acting crazy and i look up, and i thought it was not getting pressurisation so i yank the shit out my riser and toggles and nothing. i'm like fuck!!! while i look at my alti that says 2020, let go of the risers, grab the handles, and pull right, second to regaing stability and in the half of my barrell roll that i got under control pull left, caaa poomm!!! reserve is out flying like a charm. really nice opening on heading, at i don;t remember how high, so i got to fly my 113, she is an excellent canopy, susy flies really good, the landing was excellent, no problem where my free bag was, I have my handles, and i good experience. and my 9th save is my own. so after that i did 2 more jumps, a video jump and a hop and pop. Dave on that one I agree with Derek, If you are a high performance canopy and you are getting ready for your approach, and you see a big canopy in the landing area and is close to your way, he is below (right of the way) so don't do a high performance landing, there are other jumps to be made. as you know i shoot video and I'm always landing by the time other experience jumpers with larger canopies are landing. I found serveral solutions to asure that i see every single canopy in the air and landed so i can make a safe desicion on my high performance landing. I would recomend clerico, is a really nice way to get people to drink wine and have healthy fruit salad. (get the Idea)??? fruit + alcohol+ sugar + 1 day of sitting=good time party!! Make a fruit salad of apples, pears, cherries, pine apple, and get a sweet white wine, pour wine until you are satisfied with the quantity of liquid. then to every 4 litres of wine = 1 kilogram of sugar. make it the day before consuption and keep it cool in the fridge. Sangria the Argentinian way. Get 4 litres of red wine, 1 kilogram of sugar, and lemon juice of 8 lemons. mix well and let it sit in the fridge for 1 day also. My favorite way to drink wine in parties. budget has to be good, because is expensive, but is worth all the money of the world. successfull party drink. go to the supermarket and buy 1 honey melon per 2 people you are inviting, and buy a bottle of wine per melon, and several kilograms of sugar. preparation simple, cut the top end of the melon, clean the seeds, and keep the cap of the top of the melon, afterwords pour the wine in the melon almost filling it up. then pour sugar and with a fork stir it up until all the sugar is gone, with the same fork scratche the walls of the melon so it get deep in it. leave one melon, peal the skin out of it, clean the seed, put the melon in a large container all cut in squares, and pour al the excess wine there. Really important, this one has to sleep overnight otherwise you will regreat, the favor is awesome, I preffer merlot wine on it and when drinking it put 4 straws. give them out and the melon will do the rest, also leave the containers for refills hiden and you have acess to it cause people will get really wasted, (so you can control the flow of it.) Get a 24mm lense, you will find yourself closer, in now time and then you will have to buy an extra lense, I started shooting with a 24mm and now i'm upgrading to a 20mm. Something else. a tougher camera could be good when you have a non desirable landing, and you fall down, a Rebel will break no problem, the elan will hold better. Not saying is indestructable. but also, you can get hit on the sky to. Just my 2 cents. Phreezone gave you a great explanation about but he didn't mention that is a ground hungry canopy, I jumped one for about 100 jumps and I loved it. I went from the Jedei to a Vengance Airlock by PD (that PD used the airlock design from brian), then I went to a Samurai, I love Brian attitude towards design. The Jedei is a high performance wing and you have to be carefull with it. just my 2 cents.
