  1. He is the USPA Central Region Director....he's a very knowledgeable guy about for general aviation and skydiving.....oh and by the way, that was Jean Potvin putting the equipment box out, Gary was doing the video...lol
  2. http://www.worldclassmedals.com Look thru what they have...I've used them several times for various skydiving competitions.
  3. My only door anxiety comes from being in the back of the Skyvan. For some reason if I end up in the back of the Skyvan, then the perosn sitting next to the door latch is either a complete moron or "scared" they are going to fall out while unlatching and re-latching the door. So the green light is on and the spot is getting worse while they are fumbling with the door!!!!
  4. Congrats man!!!....nothing feels as good as looking into that cup and seeing your ball in it!!!
  5. Hey all---the skydive radio main tourney is tonight at pokerstars.....Lets try to get at least 1 full table tonight. I'm gonna be donating my $$ tonight. Who else wants to join in?
  6. I so agree with cadaver parts.....I have A LOT of metal in me...Titanium femur rod, with 2 screws(skydiving related).....2 plates and 8 screws in the wrist(non- skydiving)...2 screws in the elbow(non-skydiving) and a plate and 4 screws on the shoulder(non-skydiving)......I've broken a lot of bones and the worst thing ever was when they took a bone graft off my hip to fuse my wrist......I would easily trade that experience off for another broken femur any day.
  7. I would disagree with tandems screwed in this situation. This whole scenerio rests on the skill and comfort level of the jumper. Plus their personal insight on their gear. Laura went straight to her reserve which is perfectly reasonable and a good decision since her pre-determined decision altitude is 1800 feet. This is a good topic to get people to think and make their "pre" decisions. In this sport at low altitudes, the slow and meek do "inherit" the Earth. A "pre" decision will save your life. Now to back to my tandems are screwed---again, skill, knowledge and confidence play a roll. I have personally bailed at 1900' on a straight reserve with only my 2 upper snaps done when I was on a plane that experience an engine out(Cessna) with oil up the windshield. The pilot did not seem too cool and confident he was going to make the runway, so I did what was in the best interest of me and my student, Emergency bailout. Everything worked out for all parties in this case and I could have stayed in the plane but hind sight is ALWAYS 20/20. Again this was a pre determined altitude that I could leave from with almost 2000 tandems under my belt. Would I have made the same decision with just a couple hundred tandems----absolutely not, but that why you constantly re-evaluate as the knowledge and experience levels change.
  8. Can't help with the tilt......if it weren't for massive amounts of booze i'd be steaming and on tilt the entire time....lol

  13. I know, I know.....What the hell was I thinking......But as a buddy of mine says " Even the most beautiful woman in the world had a man who got tired of putting up with her Sh*t."
  14. The best is waking up to one. I had a girlfriend who used to love to wake me up with a morning BJ
  15. I knew I'd call the base metal wrong....Zinc!! Thats it, and it's only copper coated.....Professional Liquid Drano for about 8 to 10 hours will remove that nice copper coating like a charm
  16. You can put pennies into one of those real acidic bathroom or drain cleaner, let them soak for several hours and they will have the copper caoting eaten off. Pennies aren't solid copper. They are copper coated nickle. I've done that before and they look like a brand new shiney silver penny.
  17. Great.....thanks for all the info. One of these contacts should be able to help.
  18. Well once again I have a customer bring me a canopy that is no longer manufactured and wants a re-line.....My last post here resulted in help that worked out(thanks PeteS)...Does anyone know of any contact info I can try to get a line set for an Alpha 117. I did e-mail Atair asking for their assistance and received no response. If anyone know a direct e-mail or contact phone number address of someone at Atair, please send it to me....or if someone knows of anyone who can hook me up with an Alpha 117 complete lineset , let me know.............................. ..................................... Otherwise I'm gonna suggest my customer buy an up to date canopy and stop buying trash from the past. Thanks for any help....and of course the last editorial line was just frustration from getting so many requests to update out of date canopies.
