  1. I teach rigging and would love to use it to help teach future riggers.
  2. Thank-you very much...that is exactly what I was looking for!
  3. I thought about that, but for the project I want to do, I'll need to by it by the rolls and going through PD for it would be expensive$$$. If I have to go that way I will but I was hoping a rigger out there had another source...Thanks!
  4. Does anyone know where I can get untreated Spectra line, the same type of line used on PD reserves? I've looked and none of the regular places such as Paragear, Square 1, etc. carries it.
  5. Container is an Odyssey J1KS Serial # 26977 DOM 10/04, Reserve a PD 143R serial number 34364 DOM 05/05, AAD is a MARS M2 serial # 2762 DOM 09/14...I do not have any info on the main canopy but I believe it was a PD Spectre 135 and was a PD stock color pattern of white, blue, and blackberry......This was stolen in Lincoln, IL so half way between St. Louis and Chicago....if the jumpers in those areas can keep on eye out, we would be grateful !!! Container is Black with blue piping/trim tape. Reserve flaps, royal blue, Cap is white/blue tie dye along with the accent stripes on the main pin protector flap.
  6. No it's in Marylang Heights off of Hwy 270 @ Page Ave.
  7. There are several of us local jumpers that regularly make trips up the CSC and Skydive Chicago to get our turbine fixes. Most of the more experienced jumpers spend our regular weekends at a private DZ with a very nice C-206U. Flying V Ranch. look it up on-line, its a very nice DZ to hang out at on the non-Chicago weekends.
  8. Its an area that has numerous bars, shops, and restraunts. You just park and stumble from one bar or club to another
  9. Riverport in Maryland heights is usually a good time any day of the week and its close to Lambert.
  10. If anyone has a spare airworthy Magnum 357 pilot chute (only Magnum 357 please) please let me know. I'm not wanting to buy brand new because this isn't going into a pilot rig but it is going to be used in an experiement with drag and snatch force so it does need to be air worthy and in good condition. So if any one happens to have one lying around that they are willing to part with please let me know.
  11. My old DZ used to do a Tandem to AFF program. It was not unusual to take the same person on tandem training jumps 2 or 3 times. We even had 1 jumper who because of medical reasons could not jump solo so he had over 135 tandems and I took him more than 10 times. Any good tandem instructor should be more than happy to actually "teach" skydiving instead of just giving a "ride". Find one your comfortable with and let the questions fly!
  12. Thank-you, I'll try contacting them today.
  13. Does anyone have the line trim specs for the Jonathan canopy? I have a 170 and specifically need the BK-Tog measurement but I'd like to have a complete line trim measurement if possible.
  14. Try these websites...they has some pretty good and cheap stuff http://www.trophies2go.com/funny-joke-trophies http://www.issaquahtrophy.com/funny-gag-joke http://www.squidoo.com/funny-trophies
  15. I know Tom Dolphin at Missouri River Valley Skydivers as built harnesses before for the Missouri Highway Patrol to use in helicopter rescue situations. You can look him up at www.skydivemrvs.com
  16. Gary, If I truly have just continued a rumor, then I do apologize for that. It will say this in defense, if it is just a rumor, it is a strong one, numerous trusted people with the same information have approached me, and ones that I know despise the rumor mill as much as I do. I called you out in public, so if I am wrong, I will apologize in the same public forum. As far as other statements made, those were my true opinions. I believe you did over step your bounds as regional director and allowed personal feelings to guide your actions. In my opinion, the actions you took were not in "skydiving’s" best interest but served a more personal agenda. I do stand behind my "ancient ideas" remark. We have had numerous conversations and many times I have walked away shaking my head. And Andy, I'd like to thank you for you unsolicited legal post. I am glad you felt it necessary to interject an unwelcome legal comment.
  17. You do realize that this is a public forum? And, that skydiving only exists because of the protection of the waiver (yes, that is just smoke and mirrors but it has sustained us for over 50 years)...I doubt that you do because I know your particular disease is "diarrhea of the mouth" and you do not know when to distinguish between private and public debate....So if you want to make this all public, here you go...Central Conference director Gary Peek has actually contacted the family and offered his assistance in the lawsuit. Much like "lopullterri" he has decides that this is a perfect time to deliver a deathblow to a DZ he has an axe to grind his. Now I know the moderator will pull this post the second they see it, but I hope MANY jumpers see this and understand there are actual politics involved beyond "lopullterri" and Garry Peeks narrow minded efforts to close Archway and hurt Jason.... Open your freaking eyes!!! If this lawsuit wins, it can invalidate the waiver we sign, precedence will be set, and that opens up all DZs to potential lawsuits... In "lopullterri" case (Terri Poston) case, she does not mind because her mouth has gotten her kicked out of every DZ. This is factual, let me state the facts here < Skydive St.Louis, Quantum Leap, Archway Skydiving, Skydive Chicago and Chicagoland skydiving all kicked you off, to my knowledge Missouri River Valley Skydiving contacted you and preemptively kicked you off to prevent you from coming there, so I have no clue where in the Midwest you are welcome. Gary Peek is upset because as a conference director and longtime Archway jumper he probly does feel slighted that he was kicked off the DZ. But sometimes when you are a politician, you have to know when to shut your mouth to your private and ancient ideas. I’m sorry Gary but drop zones are a business and need to be profit motivated if they are to succeed (anyone want to dispute that fact go have a talk with Larry Hill, I believe that man can set you straight). Gary, it is time for you to go!!! The worst part is you do not even realize just how much you are damaging the sport by assisting with this lawsuit. No matter how you feel, you are a USPA representative…You represent SKYDIVING!! Your actions may end skydiving for everyone. Good Job Gary, I’m glad the axe you had to grind was well worth shutting down a DZ and jeopardizing the sport. I do not like what happened at Archway. It was a very tragic event and someone lost their life. I can 100% say that neither Terri (lopullterri) nor Gary Peek have all of the facts. Terri has only second or third hand info at the best. I will not stand here and say that there is no blame to be had, I personally believe that mistakes were made but those are my beliefs and not statements of facts as Terri and Gary espouse. The ONE real fact is a person died and had every opportunity to save his own life and he DID NOT PULL either handle until it was too late. That jumper had from his exit altitude until lets arbitrarily say 800 feet to pull a deployment handle. His decision was not to pull a single handle until between 200 and 100 feet AGL, and then he pulled the main ripcord. That student whether consciously or not killed himself. He could not control whatever emotional or physical forces millions of jumpers overcome regularly and pull one of two handles that would have allowed him to live. He was a plain and simple case that not everyone can succeed in skydiving and technology cannot and should not be expected to save those that refuse to save themselves. I ask the moderators to leave this post up. It is important to see how some posts on this forum and USPA representatives can negatively affect the entire sport.
  18. I have a Singer 20U-33. It's my zig-zag machine and I'm in desperate need of 1(or a set) of stich width regulating thumb screws. These stupid things are impossible to find. I've even tried calling Singer and all industrial parts sales that I know, no luck. Does anyone have any for sale? PLEASE DO NOT send me to web sites or "possibilities". I know where to find parts, but these stupid things just are difficult to find seperately. So if you actually have one to sell or know a phone number and name of a person who definitely has them for sale, please either respond or PM me. I hate having this machine down! Thanks!!!!!
  19. You so arrogant I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Anyone that knows me, knows I will call a spade a spade and friends or not I'll call out safety violations. Now the lemming is you. You blindly flow any DZ that will have you until you shoot off your mouth and get kicked off. Then you start your public smear campaign without ever disclosing your great DZ resume. How many are you up to now, I've lost count, 5 or 6 is it. If you thought Archway was so bad why did you wait to scream safety until you got kicked off. My point is if you want to start a public bashing campaign, put all the facts on the table and let people decide if your credible enough to believe. I eagerly await your rambling tirade response.
  20. Wrong....the student pulled too low for the main to inflate enough to save his life. The main had bearly left the bag before impact. I have avoided commenting on this topic of threads since they were generated by someone with an axe to grind (got kicked off that DZ as well and several others). Just setting a fact straight and now I'll leave the rest of the bashing and slamming to the rest of you.
  21. I have a Precision Aero 365 Tandem canopy that needs a line set. The owner doesn't want to have it out of service long enough to send it to the manufacturer and I'm having trouble finding a line set for it. I have tried to PM Pete Swan here but haven't heard back. Any riggers on here know of any other resource or other contact info for Pete?
  22. I wonder if this incident has anything to do with the numerous recent used Argus AAD's listed for sale in the classifieds
  23. I actually print off my generic receipt/checklist and hand check tools in and out. Once I'm done I photocopy it and I keep one copy and send a copy with the customer. That way if a copy gets altered I have the orginal to refer back to. Computer generated copies are just too easy to alter.
