  1. ah..let me clarify The mounting plate that you screws on the camera and that slides in the fixed mount on the helmet. I assume your idea is to have the mount installed left-right oriented on the helmet to hold vid/stills? With a pro-sumer camcorder on top it, all you just need to rotate it 90 degrees, right? 2. er...XB canopy, RDS....skillz???? Neeh..that's not mandatory! Image is! "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  3. If you make a longer piece with one hole(with or without threads) it might be usable for a prosumer style camcorder. "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  4. can't you just install softlinks without slider stoppers and pull the slider down behind your neck? You could also install a removable slider, but that requires a little more caution when packing. 5. Almost. It's an ROK and I've ordered an Ozone from them and is expecting it soon. "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  6. This is my thoughts about the choice of helmet material, assuming you've already decided on getting one. I'm now sitting and waiting for my neck to heal fully and got lots of time to reflect on what happened to me. Two and a half week ago I hit the ground hard during a landing while training for the national CP(630' hook downwind). I made two marks in the ground, one was a large ditch from where my hip hit the ground. The other one was smaller but was where my head hit the ground(see picture). I ended up tumbling and rolling another 35m(120f) before stopping. The helmet suffered a severe crack in the forehead(See picture). I however suffered 3 lines of bruised marks in the forhead, one cut over the nose and two frontal bilateral internal bleeding and a concussion from the head impact alone. The helmet is now no longer usable, but I started thinking..what if my helmet was made out of a different weaker material, what would have happened then? The helmet is made out of thick carbon fiber and padding inside. other helmets are made out of soft plastic, normal plastic, thin or thick fiberglass, thin carbon or any combination of these. They may, or may not have padding inside. I'll from now on swear to thick carbon with padding. Maybe even a CE(safety certification in Europe) labeled ski helmet for CP training. Often when we choose helmets, we look at how lightweight it is, how comfortable it is to wear and of course price is important. But how much are you willing to pay to prevent yourself from an unrecoverable brain damage? When do you think of your own safety? It's very common to think that it's only the others that hooks to low, or bust a landing. If you plan on staying in the sport for a long time it's more likely that you will hit the ground along with all the others who done it in the past. If you ask me, I'd recommend you to wait a little until you've saved up for a good and safe helmet. Please do so. You'll hopefully only need it once. 7. The mamba is easy to lift up the visor even with thick winter gloves on. The shell is very strong and will hold for a decent blow. But the GAS helmet will provide you with more protection against impact even if the shell breaks. I just had an ROK from coockie that gut busted up after a hard landing. After looking on the damages on it and the fact that I got a concussion and blacked out for several minute, i decieded to order the Ozone from cookie due to the D3O material alone. If you want more protection, get a skihelmet with the CE markings on it. But they will aleays be open face and you might need to tape over potential snagponints. =/ But they'll keep you safer =) "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  8. Skydive Stockholm HAD one until this summer =/ I think that the wheel broke or something during taxi resulting in one of the wings hit the ground and wrecked the plane up totally. No injuries AFAIK. 10. I've thought about it for 2-3 years now. BUt if you were to bring a 3G telephone in freefall, you could do a live skydive and show it to someone =D Maybe u should put on a fullface and use a bluetooth device.... 12. with my altitrack in my former swoop pants i reached 486Km/h or 303mph. I didn't have two protracks to attach on the laterals. I did check speedskydiving.net and emailed some nearby DZ to see if there was any competiton, but they were all far away. Would have been fun to try it out with the the fast fallers and see how fast i really fell
  13. I'd also like to hear more pros/cons from someone who's been using this "lazybag". I'd recon that the snatch force might bee harder in terminal, but not noticeable in subterminal "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  14. Small detail: the vapor has a bigger backhead piece that coves the back of the head better then the FTP. "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  15. Awsome Trunk1 Congrats =) I'll order a Hypoxic later for a CX105 camera ;) "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no
  16. yes, on most risers one is equipped with an RSL ring. However, I'd recommend you to order to identical risers with the RSL ring pointing inwards. That will let you have the RSL operational on any rig =) "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no

  18. no, it was in Norway at Østre Æra. Herman went to Tønsberg and Østre Æra while visiting Norway and let people jump the sensei. He traveled to Ireland after his visit to Norway. 20. I managed to make 1 jump in it when Herman Landsman came to my DZ one day. I went terminal with it and pulled @ 7, but the opening was still super soft compared to any other canopy =) I'm curious about the flare on it. It seems that it might have a short flare window. Could someone out there that demoes it, try out to see if it could be landed at "full" flare, or if you need the toggles to come down a little more giving it more "ompf". It felt that it couldn't be landed when I put my arms down to the sweetspot. The only thing I got from it was that it stalled on me... =/ "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no

  22. ..u did what???? how the hell did that thing open and fly? I was considering jumping a sabre2 97 which would put me @ 2.31 just for the fun of it. But I thought it would be unstable or break apart and kill me. 23. How deep would you say it has to be in order to differentiate between minor wear and critical damage? I've seen this on many of the Atom student gear, but it has only been top surface damage, not down an inside the type 8 webbing over the shoulder. 25. *bump* I'm stuck with a Vortex 2 and I've got no reserve packing manual to guide me. Does it exists? ....or do you just pack it like a jav?
