  1. Sonic is the best. He gave me financing on a $5 bag of rubber bands for 5 years, with 25 cents down. Can't beat that!!!
  2. All right, I got the idea. I said everything I wanted to say here. Maybe USPA and FAA will like the death game so much that we'll soon see the list of winners in the incidents section in Parachutist. Chiao.
  3. He-he Even if I jump that cliff without a parachute and land my wingsuit, it doesn't make my skydiving at the Ranch less safe. You are correct, Sir, I am one of the safest skydivers at the Ranch. I don't like to praise myself, but since you mentioned it...
  4. Yes, I am. However, I don't have a single movie where I appear in the frame above my belly button. So, people don't believe me.
  5. Tom, I have no problem with anything - regardless of how "under-the-table" or "no rules, only regulations" it is - as long as it does not hurt me. I love the Ranch for it's freedom and good vibe. Those who try to harrass others, are vibe killers. I am not spending $1000+ a month at the Ranch to see my name on the death list. I did not survive and return to skydiving after my low-jump-number accident to be ridiculed for the rest of my life. I jump safe, and I don't need to explain anything beyond saying that. If I demand to stop, she gotta stop. This thing got under my skin. And my sense of humor is good enough to roll on the floor laughing my ass out almost all the time at the Ranch
  6. To those who replied "why are you on the list?", I thought it's called sadomasochism to blame yourself if someone abuses you. And that you endorse death games says a lot about you. I don't need to explain myself. I removed my name from the death list and explicitly demanded the "organizer" (money collector) that she never puts it back. She refused, and put my name back, with an embarrassing nickname. So let me rephrase my question - and add more: - Is it legal to harrass someone by putting his name on a death list and collecting money, if that person explicitly demanded to stop? - Is it legal for "players" to play the game which may solicit tampering with the equipment (or, for example, cutoff on landing) to win the game or to get the revenge? - What action can I take to stop this fucking sick shit? - I have a suspicion that my equipment was attempted to tamper with after the argument - specifically, one side of the slider was half collapsed after I uncollapsed the slider and left my parachute unattended, which could have lead to hard opening or a malfunction. How can I protect myself? P.S. Those who think such a harrassment is a normal thing, leave this thread alone. P.P.S. I have the official rules of the game, but I'm too lazy to type them in. P.P.P.S. I can't believe this is happening at the Ranch, one of the best good vibe DZs in the world!

Yes, Cookie replied that all their videos are PAL.
  8. There is a sicko "game" ("Bounce Bingo") going on at my DZ where participants bet money on jumpers who they think will die in a skydiving accident. The pot goes to the winner - the person who placed a bet on the deceased jumper. Is this legal? P.S. I'm on the list.
  9. "how big a difference is a few inches?" I think I've seen this question somewhere... Playboy letters?
  10. Brian, you have really wild and innovative ideas!!! If we go further brainstorming like this, we may land a tandem wingsuit without a parachute before Jeb! I think hang glide with regular jumper under S3 will work better than two wingsuits. I talked to a cool guy from Sussex, he's flying boogie boards, so I suggested we do a boogie board + Prodigy flock. Video!!! Or imagine a solo wingsuit flyer enjoying the flight. Suddenly, in the corner of his eye, he notices that he's not alone. He looks around and sees a flock of boogie board riders trailing behind him! Video!!!!!!!!!

    Is Australia NTSC or PAL?
  12. By "hard opening" I mean an opening that at least causes pain. Divide the number of jumps you made on a canopy other than Sabre 2 or Sabre 1 by the number of hard openings, and choose the closest number from the poll options. If you jump Sabre 2, please respond to the poll "I jump Sabre 2 and have a hard opening in X jumps (on average)"
  13. By "hard opening" I mean an opening that at least causes pain. Divide the number of jumps you made on Sabre 2 by the number of hard openings, and choose the closest number from the poll options. If you don't jump Sabre 2 (or also jump/jumped other canopies (excluding Sabre 1)), please respond to the poll "I jump neither Sabre 2 nor Sabre 1 and have a hard opening in X jumps (on average)"
  14. BTW, another testimony: a friend of mine recently damaged his back and neck from the hard opening of Sabre 2 (190sq.ft.)
  15. While Sabre 2 is a popular canopy, cumulatively all other canopies outnumber Sabres. One would expect to hear about hard opening injuries on other canopies as well. Yet, we are almost tired of hearing about yet another Sabre 2 hard opening. Based on the reposts and reviews, I simply excluded Sabre 2 from the list of available canopies. If I were given a free Sabre 2, I wouldn't jump it -- but I'd use it for ground launching
  16. Whoa! *looks at both threads* Too much ado about nothing! Girl, do what you love. Use your brain and follow your heart. Next!
  17. True, but while typically skydivers only have a handful of reserve rides over the whole life of jumping (say 5), who wants to make only 5 BASE jumps in their whole life? 5 actuations of a life saving device are safer that 500.
  18. I would have jumped and flown for a couple of seconds. What a chance to experience ground rush without DZO complaining about low pulls!
  19. Brian, you're the most enthusiastic person about human flight I've ever met. Your lust is incurable, man! You must actively procreate so as to start Darwin evolution towards the human with natural wings Mike was like a rocket, so was I - I stayed at the same distance from him all the time. UFO flyby was very cool (albeit dangerous - but it was under control). It got me thinking, wouldn't it be cool to launch a bunch of small air-inflated rubber balloons from the plane on the way up (one after another to form a straight angled line) and then swoop "the course" in a wingsuit (wearing a full face helmet, of course)? SF3/Prodigy biplane? Cool, man, let's do it! Are you sure a 235lbs meatbomb should be on top, though?
  20. Hey Jaap, what's on your "nice BASE soundtrack in my Winamp playlist"?
  21. No, he just forgot to fasten the chin strap.
  22. Following the posts about recent accidents and close calls, here's mine: I almost hit a lost helmet at 100+mph last weekend in Orange, MA. We did a 6-way out of CASA, one of the flyers got way down, he was about 300ft below and in front of me, when I saw a black object buzzing at high speed at just 30-50ft from me. As I watched it approach, I was confident that I won't hit it, so I didn't make any evasive maneuvers. He also lost goggles, I could have hit them, too.
  23. Add me to the list, please
