  1. You jump ALL over people because they say something and you take the literal definition.... But when Obama does it you give him a pass... Hypocritical much? When you have nothing else,, you start making personal attacks. It is the only trick you know it seems.
  2. My issue is jumping on a bandwagon before the facts are in. The first reports did not mention where the kid got the gun, but people were already blaming the parents. As for locking up guns... Great idea. I have a safe big enough to put people in for keeping my guns locked up (except for my carry and home defense weapon). When people get their guns stolen, I am one of the first to jump on them for having 10k worth of guns and not having a 1k dollar safe to keep them protected. That when they buy their first gun, before they buy a second one they should buy a safe. So I am with anyone that thinks it is a good idea to lock up weapons when not in use. What I am NOT for is automatically blaming the object. Or blaming the parents for not doing something when the facts are not in yet. I however do not give parents a pass. They ARE responsible for their children. If your kid is hanging out with a bad group. Change it. If your kid is showing emotional problems... Send them to get help. The CT shooter should have been locked up. But his Mom didn't want to do that. Because of her inaction, people are dead. It is not the fault of the OBJECT. As for the other school shooting... It was a COP. A kid took the weapon from the cops bike. I can't fault the cop for having a gun. I can't blame the cop for having it loaded. I can blame the kid for taking something off of the bike.
  3. President claims he wants full time jobs and employers to offer HC... And then he does neither. Irony score.... Off the chart.
  4. Tragic. I can't find much fault with the police here. The gun looks real to me from what I can see and when a cop says to drop the weapon you should comply.
  5. a BIT different than some people watching the Batman movie when a dude walks in with a bunch of guns and starts blasting everyone. or a kid walks into a kindergarten class and starts blasting everyone.... just a BIT different. Yes, because all those places you mentioned are "Gun free" zones.
  6. You know he was "properly instructed"? GUNS do not do anything. They are tools.
  7. If you prefer England's gun laws......
  8. In other news, "Criminal steals car". I guess that means we should ban cars to prevent it from happening again. 1. Already been done. A recent report just stated that studies have shown that AT LEAST as many have been saved as have been killed. 2. I tend to measure using if the "solution" takes rights away from people who did nothing wrong.
  9. Using your narrow scope for the definitions of words and meanings... Then he flat out lied. He said he could keep what you had if you liked it. Several people can't
  10. I do recall Obama blasting Romney for sending jobs out side the US.... Yet who was hired to fix this problem? Ah, a Canadian company. Or should I say "Eh, a Canadian company"?
  11. I see it as the cost of having bad parents.
  12. Answered your own question. "If you like what you have... You can keep it". He did not say "For a year". And if companies changed NOW to meet the standard next year, they still changed to meet the standard. Therefore, it changed.
  13. And you knew that when you made your comment?
  14. I have the same insurance and the same doctor. I have yet too hear of anybody I know having to switch doctors. To you? And if so, why did they? My insurance changed. I know people that lost their doctor.
  15. What you want is a guarantee of sorts that the added revenue won't be used to fund pet projects of legislators. I think a considerable percentage of people (of those paying these taxes in the first place) would agree to pay more, but for their sense that Congress will always spend every dollar plus another dime or two. Kind of... What I really want is the Federal Govt to be limited to the powers that the Constitution granted it. I want reckless spending cut and ridiculous programs dropped. Like the F35 program, and the Ford class carriers? Why? Are you suggesting that the U.S. Military goes back to Horses and Bayonets? How Mitt Romney of you... False dichotomy fallacy. I think he learned that from you. I wasn't aware that you thought at all. A pure personal attack.
  16. Irony score... Off the chart!!!!!
  17. the gov't is not like a person, more like a large corporation. they cannot operate without credit. do you think there is a vault at Ford with cash to pay employees? or their suppliers? there is not. they use a combination of short and long term fixed income(bonds and notes) instruments to function. so does the the US gov't. it is not realistic to believe you can run a company or a nation on cash. Thank you. Indeed, or if the US needs to repond to a natural disaster and needs access to cash. The notion that with a balanced budget (additional) access to credit is not required is silly. There is significant difference between short term credit and living on credit as a way of life.
  18. If you like your doctor you can keep them...... Seems more than one person has lied about the ACA
  19. Many of those programs are in fact, useless fat. Many of those programs also contain useless fat. Many of those programs are in fact, useless fat. Many of those programs also contain useless fat. Some people might be hurt, that does not mean the programs are not useless fat. Some people depend on cocaine... That does not mean it is healthy. Some people depend on alcohol, that does not mean that abstaining from drinking is a bad idea.
  20. Or, we could declare no guns are allowed in school.... Maybe put up a sign that says, "Gun free Zone", or something like that. We could also maybe make it a crime to carry a gun onto school grounds.... Ohhhhh we could also make it illegal to shoot someone!!!! Thats it, we have solved the problem!!! Make it illegal!!!! How does that address the lack of ego checking for children that is the root cause? Your troll fu is weak.
  21. And when I get a flat tire the fact that it is a rare occurrence does not make me any less late for work. Still, it *is* a rare occurrence. Pg 13: http://www.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=18319&page=13 Personally tragic, statistically insignificant. Sounds cold, but it is not - It is just a statement of fact.
  22. You don't see children shooting others as odd?
  23. Do you know the child got the weapon from his parents?
  24. Nonsense, we have created more programs in the last 100 years than we have cut. Social Security EPA Medicare Medicaid We have spent more on wars since WW2 than we spent on WW2 WW2 - 296B (Adjusted) Iraq - 715B Afghanistan - 297B Claiming there is no fat to cut is just another way to defend your spending lifestyle. People who run up credit cards to live without cutting the cable bill and still eating out do that. (not saying you personally do that, but it is what happens). We need to make spending cuts. Claiming we can't is just pouring more coal into the burners of the Titanic.
