I go by the rule to get a reserve that will have the best chance to get you to the ground safely if you are unconcious under canopy. If you are not at the skill level to jump a 150 as a main, why would you want to have it as a reserve? _____________ PMS #394

On a smaller scale, one of the reasons we decided to not go to a family holiday in town & to not travel to a family holiday out of town. Skydiving family is family anyway. _____________ PMS #394

So as my husband and I get ready to host a very small dinner on Thanksgiving, just two guests. We made a very clear point to have these guests be from our skydiving family instead of our regular families. Is anyone else out there doing the same thing, on purpose or by accident? My mother in law loves clowns, I find them creepy. She had her whole house decorated with them when I first started dating my husband. Now they're ALL in one upstairs bedroom. I stay away from that room. EEEEWWW. _____________ PMS #394

I always remember my Grandma saying to put the lid down "becuase no one wants to look in your toilet". I tend to agree. About five years ago there was a Dateline (or some show like that) that showed exactly how unsanitary it is to flush the toilet with the lid up. . . bacterial spray in about a six foot radius. And really, how big is the common bathroom? That convinced my husband and me to throw our toothbrushes away and to religiously put the seat and lid down. _____________ PMS #394

It's really no big deal if you just bundle up like you're going skiing. Worst that could happen is you encounter some hail or snow, that's about it. Oh, I definately do bundle up. The pilot blasts the heat in the 182, so we don't really feel the cold until the door opens. I think the main difference for me this winter will be the helmet. My open face helmet last winter sucked. I have two box turtles. They're pretty low maintenance. My husband and I left them with their food and water bowls for four days while at Chicks Rock and they were fine. I do want to get a French Bulldog at some point though. _____________ PMS #394

It's so slippery that when I roll it (psycho pack), I can't even get a grip on all the layers of material, and eventually everything just squirts out at the other end of the roll. I have found with the psycho pack that when I roll the canopy, after getting the apex tucked in the fabric, I put my thumbs in each side & roll it slowly that way -- very little fabric squirting that way. Hope it helps. (BTW, I'm fitting a 170 into a 150 D-bag this way) It can also help to rest your palms on the canopy one roll short of putting the D-bag on it for just a minute, it helps squish out any extra air in the canopy. _____________ PMS #394

That's great! I went to REI to find one to fit with my helmet & goggles (looking rather strange trying them all on at once in the store). I couldn't find one that fit snug enough to work with the chin strap of my helmet. I'm resigned to buying a full face helmet instead. _____________ PMS #394
