I did a "packing" class to get my A lic. Packed a few of my own rig, but still pay a packer most of the time. The class I did was from an experanced skydiver (not a full time packer) becuause the regular packer that day was not availible and I was already up to 38 jumps still waiting for my packing class. I guess the bottom line is, Im looking for a "real" packing class either one-on-one or a day in class format. Im in N. JMHO....On my 4th AFF dive, we went over the dive on the ground from exit to landing. He told me that if everything looked good, he would fly in front of me. On the jump, I was so worried that I could not get a stable (in my mind) as I could have been. Once he flew in front, gave me a big smile, thumbs up....I relaxed and was very stable. On the debrief, he said the exit was clean and my body was a little stiff, but still stable and he made the decision to fly in front to get me to relax. It worked for me. One last note....All of you AFF-Is out there, Its an ominous position your in, taking someone life in your hands, guide them and make the possible spit-second decision while falling at 120mph to return this person to the ground safely. I salute my instructors and all of you AFF-Is out there!! I have jumped the PAC750 at Skydance (Davis, CA) about 30 times and love it. Climbs like a demon with a full load to 13k very fast. Yes, if you by the door, very cozy, but, your out first

I know in my case, I was having some body flight issues. So, with my 18 jumps at the time, I went down to Perris and did 30 min of coach time. The result was; the rest of my jumps since have been much more enjoyable experance. As everything, the tunnel is a tool in my case and I treat it as such. Yes, I would rather jump also. Will I go to a tunnel again? Google had an open sign up about a year ago for 100k "beta" testers. After that, was invite only. It should go live by 2Q next year from what I have heard. BTW, if you want a gmail, I have 5. I dont know about the other new tunnel site, but the new manager of Silicon Valley (Union Landing) tunnel was at our DZ (Skydance in Davis, CA) during the FreeFly fest back in Sept. He was talking is up with anyone who would listen about how this would be a great place to train. I would tend to think that everywhere a new tunnel is going in, the marking guys are out there at the local DZ too. How do you like to exit from what ever plane? I have only side door jumped while sport jumping. From both a Caravan & PAC 750, I like diving exits the best. My first canopy was the smallest student one I flew on (230). My instructor (also the S&TA) also advised this size at least till I have 50+ on my own and then consider moving to a 190 - 210 range for the next 100 or so jumps.
