  1. Does your cat keep the kids and trash out of the yard? Of course I wasnt talking about picking up trash, I was talking about picking up cat shit out of my yard. There was a guy who took care of a nuisance kid, he will probably get life. But then again, I can understand his plight also. I wont defend him, but I will empathize, a nuisance is a nuisance. http://www.wdtn.com/dsp_story.cfm?storyid=32306 The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  2. Is a person a sicko when dropping poison down a rathole? Is a person a sicko for shooting a coyote? Why does this act qualify a person as a sicko? Does this act make the person who did this a bad person? Or is it only different because you have cats as pets, and therefore there is a psychological connection? If the person who did this used broadheads, I dont think that it would have made the news, the cat would have died in a matter of seconds. I know people who have done a lot worse with nuisance cats. But then again I grew up in the country. THere were plenty of nuisance animals. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  3. What exactly is your definition of humane? Is it humane for two cats to fight to the death? Is it humane for a cat to die of disease or starvation? Is it humane to be hit by a car? Is it humane to drown? Or is humane through some form of lethal injection? Or by gunshot? What is humane? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  4. Its not enough to keep the sandbox covered. One of the cats is bold enough to try and use the sandbox if my son gets too far away from it. I have done humane things like spray it with water, and I let the kid chase it out of the yard. My only point is that I can see how some one would take it to this point. Just like a rancher does with coyotes, or how city slickers eradicate the mice and the rats that sometimes cohabitate. I did not however justify killing for entertainment. In my opinion, companion animals fall into the same catagory as rodents and other vermin. I dont own animals, and think that the practice is somewhat ridiculous. I have a hard time justifying cleaning up messes from my kids. I can't imagine having to clean up poop from a stupid animal (and paying the vet bill, feeding, etc), and yet I am forced to clean up poop from a cat that doesn't even belong to me. On another note, that cat doesnt just use the sandbox. My sideyard is a nice soft grassy area, but I only walk out there to mow because it is a veritable mine field. So, yea, the cats are a nuisance. If you feel the need to elevate your pets to people status, that is fine with me. Don't defend my neighbors who rarely clean up crap from thier own cat. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  5. Down here in AZ we have 6 ft tall fences surrounding the property. I constantly cover the sandbox with a tarp to keep the cats out, so most of the time it isnt a problem. But, the only animal that attempts to use to sandbox as a litterbox are the three cats that live close. THey are the only animals capable of getting over the fence into the backyard. Question: why should I have to keep my yard under lock and key, when the neighbor should keep his stupid cat in the house? On another note, there are a couple people in the neighborhood that allow the stupid cats to procreate in their yards, so there are several places within the neighborhood that have 15-20 kittens and cats running freely. That is irresponsible ownership. The owners will not get their cats fixed, and then not contain their little varmints. What should we do about them? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  6. here' another cat problem solved http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/04/17/cat.euthanized.ap/index.html Maybe she should have kept her cat indoors. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  7. Letting the cats roam is irresponsible. They should be kept in the house. My yard is for my kids to play in, not a litter box for the neighborhood cats. Current statute says that you have to clean up after your pet, but the neighbors sure dont come clean the crap out of my yard. It also gripes my ass when people get pets, and then leave them at home for the majority of the time. My next door neighbor is rarely home, and her cat is the one that is getting the most use of my yard. Now, I didnt advocate the use of bow and arrow to get rid of the nuisance cats. But I can see how someone would. I also think that sociopath is a strong word. The person who did that got rid of a nuisance, kinda like getting rid of a coyote, a rat, or anything else. Am I a sociopath because I eradicated the cockroach population that was in the alley? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  8. http://www.10news.com/news/8681322/detail.html?subid=22100481&qs=1;bp=t Terrible for the cat. I however don't feel that bad for the owners of the cat. Dogs aren't allowed to run free in the neighborhood. I think that if someone wants to own a cat they should keep it in the house. There are three cats that reside very close to me, that are constantly crapping in my son's sand box. The cats are a nuisance, and should be removed. I would feel the same way about dogs, salamanders, guinea pigs, etc. Feelings? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  9. Tis true....however can we suffer the attacks that will occur in the USA if we pull out? We tried the foriegn policy of live and let live.....it got us 9/11. Shall we continue to allow ourselves to be bullied into the corner by a few...radicals. We should be out there hunting them down. Death is the only end that some will understand. The only difference that we can make is where they meet their maker. I dont want to be responsible for the deaths of thousands of american civilians. Which is likely to happen. which goes back to my initial question; what is the value of the lives of your loved ones? How many people are we willing to kill to insure that they remain safe? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  10. What data supports this? If we pull out of Iraq do you think that the people seeking to do us harm are just going to put down their weapons and go home? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  11. In the US this is called self defense. Plenty of questionable cases have stood up to scrutiny in the good ol USA. In the Iraq scenario, we believed(or the government believed) that there was sufficient reason to make a decision to go to war. Self-defense plea. I am sure that you have heard the saying "I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6". The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  12. That is interesting. Why would you rather suffer the casualties up front? I am curious the reasoning. In the current situation, without debate on the speculation, given the intel, most would have attacked. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  13. I concur with that statement. However, what position would you rather be in....mine and be wrong, or yours and be wrong? The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  14. http://www.asuwebdevil.com/issues/2006/03/21/opinions/696254 I think that this may be a little misguided. Text of a letter that I emailed: In the editorial about Senator McCain's speech, Dianna Nanez claims that America must come together to come up with a plan to get our soldiers out of harms way. However, she needs to know one thing, a good number of our soldiers want to be in harms way. As a veteran of OIF1, I know what I wanted. I wanted to be in harms way if it means that my family might be a little safer at home. I would rather bring the fight to the enemy than wait for the enemy to show up in my hometown. The real question that all americans need to ask is, "what value do I place on the lives of my loved ones?" For me the answer to that question is that I value their lives more than that of the enemy. I value the lives of my family more than the lives of people who are willing to kill, torture, maim, intimidate, harrass and blow up their own people. Being in Iraq is not the best situation, but it is worlds better than having terrorists operating in the USA. Let us not forget the cost of civilians on 9/11. It is incorrect to believe that the insurgents that are fighting over in Iraq are logical thinkers. Their minds are clouded by a religion that declares anyone not of their faith "infidels". If they truly wanted peace in the world they would approach the soldiers and help fight those willing to destroy the peace process. But, in my opinion the fight will go on ad infinitum, as long as there are people willing to die for allah. 15. I cant wait to see the episode where Trey and Matt write chef out of the show.... That will be funny. They will be relentless with this one. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  16. http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/03/06/scotus.campus.recruiters.ap/index.html What do you think? I think that if the universities take federal money that military recruiters should definitely be allowed on campus. I say its a good decision. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  17. Do you get paid if you work overtime? Do you get paid if you work holidays or weekends? Would you prefer that a doctor not get paid what his profession calls for? There is a reason that an MD gets paid what he does. The difference between a plumber and a doctor is that you can call your brother in law to come over and help with a leaky toilet....you wouldn't call your brother in law to revive you after a heart attack(unless he is a doctor). I have been charged up to $75/hr for calling a plumber after hours. The going rate for an Air conditioning guy off hours is higher in the heat of the year or cold part of the year. Add parts to that and you can pay quite a bit for the a repair call. The ER is different, you go there because there is no option. If you want to socialize the healthcare system that will drive down the competition to get into medical schools and drive some very competent doctors from the business. Once again there is a reason that a heart surgeon makes +500K a year. If you dont like the cost visit Canada, they have socialized health care, and some of the longest waiting lists for care. Maybe, the doctors accross the US should unionize and really drive up the cost of healthcare. Maybe that will solve the problem. Then as people continue to default on their bills, the doctors can go on strike. That seems fair to me. The true cost of the healthcare industry is in the insurance companies. They keep the costs up, and then pass that onto the consumer, and for some reason they keep showing a profit. Maybe a solution is to get rid of the insurance industry, or regulate it, or even subsidize it. I think that it is completely fair for someone who goes to scholl for close to a decade (15 plus for specialists) should have to settle on a paltry wage. Those people get into the industry for other reasons than to "help people", and money is a big one. Pay them what they are worth, or the next time that you go to the ER you might not make back out. 9mm vs .45

I have one of each...and I would probably not buy another 9mm. I am not impressed with the way mine handles, and for that matter the grip just seems huge. I have a smaller .45, and it fits my hand. It also isnt bad on recoil. If you load the mag full plus 1 thats 9 out of the first magazine. I am accurate with both and can unload 2 magazines with 100% in the black at 30 ft. I prefer the .45 and would carry that more often than the 9mm. It also depends on the pistol that you are looking at. If I was buying a new gun I would look at the Kimber 45 models.http://www.kimberamerica.com/compact.php Of course I haven't shot all that is out there. THere is plenty of rounds out there that people will swear by. 9mm has plenty of stopping power for most situations. Besides, if you decide to use deadly force, shoot until the target is no longer a threat. Practice 8" paper plates at 10 and 20 ft. After that you make up your mind as far as what works for you. 19. $250 is not a good way to get people back into the sport. That sounds ridiculous to me. I think that recurrency jumps should not carry such a high price tag anyway.... But I guess the DZs have to pay the bills. If I have to pay $250 to get current I won't jump again. That is taking advantage of the people who spend their hard earned cash on this sport. 21. There are so many good lines from that movie..... "Who's in charge of scheduling?" "Berkhalter." "I told that kraut a thousand times, I don't roll on Saturday!!" The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  22. My wife was trying to make a smoothie with a cheap blender that I bought (about a year ago). She had the blender all revved up, and I don't really know what happened next. The pitcher part of the blender seperated from the base and she caught the spinning blades. From the look of the wound it probably chopped about 4 or five times before she got her hand removed from the spinning blades. That was good for some stitches. I have done some dumb things in my time, but I will tell a story that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. When I was 14 years old I was involved in boy scouts. On one of the scout adventures, the scout leader taught us how to make a launcher for two liter pop bottles. If you are familiar with the water rockets they work in a similar fashion only using a compressor for air pressure. So we have this contraption that hooks up to the air compressor, and you fill a bottle about half full of water. Up end the bottle force it down on the laucher and then hit the trigger BAM the bottles would fly to about 150 ft high. Well, we put an addition on the house during the cold months, when my brother and I pulled this thing out to use it for the first time in a year I made a huge error in judgement. I leaned over the top of the dangerous end. THere wasnt a popbottle on it at the time, and my brother thought that it would be funny to hit the trigger at that exact moment. Something hit me, and I stuttered back a little bit. I looked down and there was a hole about the size of a dime in my shoulder, but very little blood. To make a long story short, WHat hit me was an 8d box nail, that had a 1/4" head on it.(about 2 1/2" in length). It passed through my shoulder, missed my heart and lungs by less than an inch, and embedded into the inside of my shoulderblade. Surgery happened 30 hours later to remove it, and when I came home that launcher was no where to be found. the last pic is the scar from that 14 years ago. The incision scar is unmistakble, along with the zipper pattern of the staples that closed me up. The scar that in the pic is above the incision is the entry wound. I still have that nail around here somewhere. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  23. Do you always base your thoughts from video found on the internet that cites no source? Why do you hate Americans so badly? I spent a year there, and didnt once target any innocent civilians. In fact we saved quite a few lives. But, I understand that doesnt feed your hate. Maybe get your story straight. The vast majority of people over there are doing the right thing. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  24. bottom line still remains that I believe that since they are/were not in a sane state of mind(crazy) that bravery doesn't qualify. And since the thread is about what I think, I think that they are not in the least bit brave. crazy at the least, and a lot stupid. Thanks for pointing out my inability to grasp the english language, but it still boils down to semantics. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=semantics semantics: The meaning or the interpretation of a word, sentence, or other language form The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  25. I thought this could be an interesting topic. How many are willing to put their lives on the line for the sake of their country? how many are willing to sit back and have someone else defend their country? and finally who is willing to concede so no-one gets hurt? If my choices hurt your feelings, by all means come up with some other reasons. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
