  1. Amen brother, Amen! Can I get an Amen?!! The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  2. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/03/02/texas.deaths/index.html This is just about as ridiculous as it gets. It looks like you cant place limits on your children or they will kill you... The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  3. Glad to hear that you are back in the saddle so to speak. I have also been trying to work through an injury. I hurt my back 9 months ago and I am just finally to the point where I can run hard again. I spent 4 months in PT and the last several trying to nurse myself back to health. It still hurts a lot every now and then, but I think that I might be getting my time back down. Good on you. I am in the 8:30 time frame too. It sux. 5. That song was spoofed in the movie "The Long Kiss Goodnight". Samuel L. Jackson sang the lyrics: "I'm not talking about the linens" the lyrics: Hello, yeah, it's been a while. Not much, how 'bout you? I'm not sure why I called, I guess I really just wanted to talk to you. And I was thinking maybe later on, We could get together for a while. It's been such a long time, And I really do miss your smile. I'm not talking 'bout moving in, And I don't want to change your life. But there's a warm wind blowing, The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight. We could go walking through a windy park, Or take a drive along the beach. Or stay at home and watch t.v. You see, it really doesn't matter much to me. I'm not talking 'bout moving in, And I don't want to change your life. But there's a warm wind blowing, The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight. I won't ask for promises, So you won't have to lie. We've both played that game before, Say I love you, then say goodbye. I'm not talking 'bout moving in, And I don't want to change your life. But there's a warm wind blowing, The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  6. John, That year of Blazer is notorious for developing weak fuel pumps. If the thing has over 100K miles, the probability is high. It can be tested to see if the pump is developing enough pressure. The less than half-tank thing could have something to do with the bypass line. I don't know all of the intricacies of it. When was the last time that the fuel filter was changed? Another thing could be sediment in the fuel tank. When the tank is full the sediment has more area to float around. But as it empties the sediment will start to collect around fuel pump and restrict the flow. The blazer has an in tank fuel pump, so there are a lot of possibilities. But, in order to check many of them you have to drain the tank and drop it. A huge pain in the ass. I would start by replacing the fuel filter. When you replace the filter look and see if there is a bunch of sediment in the filter. If that is the case then you might need to flush the tank. If not, then the pump may be on its last leg. Let me know if any of this works... The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  7. Karen, Check the link. I'm sure that there are others out there that are probably cheaper. 8. moving is second only to roofing on the shittiness scale. Both of which I would avoid whenever possible. Snaking a sewer line sucks, but it only lasts for a little while. Could be worse, you could be doing a roofing project on top of moving and snaking. btw, I would probably take snake the sewer line if I *had* to choose. Me, I am going to lay around the house all day and watch movies. I did the moving thing like 2 weeks ago. So, I feel for you. 11. This is high school stuff right here. Since there are probably several people that are traveling with you, you should be able to get several bottles on board. Original Listerine bottles should work for Whiskey. http://www.geocities.com/brodavelister/images/Listerine_Antiseptic_02.jpg Scope bottles for Vodka or Rum with a little food coloring. http://www.petrasoap.com/mc6050.jpg What other alcohol would like to smuggle in? 12. i suffer from similar problems. Mine are caused by the GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). Do some reading on it. GERD sucks, and once you get some damage in your esophagus, you might not be able to eat hot stuff again. I have taken a few courses of the Prilocec OTC. Which takes care of the GERD for several months, but it always comes back. Be careful because the stomach acid can do all sorts of damage to your throat and mouth too. http://www.gerd.com/consumer/gerd.aspx One thing that I never venture too far without is this:http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/detail?prodid=567842&previousURI=/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/search?ActiveCat=499^Query=tagamet The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  13. The "Let it Bleed" album is one of the best ever recorded. The sone "You Can't Always Get What You Want" is always a favorite. The french horn at the beginning of that song shows that the Rolling Stones had greater depth and musical ability than just guitar riffs. "Love in Vain" and "Country Honk" are also great songs from that one album. "Sympathy for the Devil" is one of their darker hits, but it always puts a smile on my face! Zune?

I bought an Ipod 20g a while back. It has been nothing but the biggest piece of shit that I have managed to waste my money on. For starters I hated the I tunes software. Second, I went through 3 different batteries for the Ipod. Third, if you skip around in the song line up like I do, it kills the battery in about 2 hours. Fourth, it never worked when I tried to run with it. If it ever bumped around at all it would skip and turn off. Fifth, it dumped the entire memory twice during its tenure. Sixth, there are better options on the market for a lot cheaper. Ipods are not worth the time and money. I bought a 2g flash drive Sansa MP3 player for $37. I just plug it into the USB drive and drag and drop songs from my hard drive. No stupid software, no synching, no hassles. It works while I run. It runs on a single AAA battery that actually lasts for about 10-12 hours at a time. There is no recharging, just drop in a new battery and keep going. My only complaint about it is that as the battery goes dead, the volume drops off. So, you never actually get the projected 20 hours out of a battery. Other than that, the $37 that I spent on this little device that works kicks the shit out of the hundreds that I spent on my Ipod. I may have just had a bad experience with Ipod, but I will never buy another one. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.

  16. I lived in a couple of crazy places, never that bad. That is kinda funny/creepy at the same time. My worst experience was living with 3 roommates in a house. We were all related to skydiving in some way shape or form. But, the couple had this shaggy dog that shed all over the house...on everything. I pretty much just stayed in my room and tried to keep my mouth shut, but it was absolutely disgusting... I can tell other stories, but the rest deal with assholes as roommates in a very hot, dry, sandy part of the world. Funny thing was at that point in time I was concerned because my roommates had killed people too... 19. I never said that she was justified, just that there was a possibility of justification. Is this situation different than the hypothetical about the police officer getting injured due to someone's negligence? If so please let me know how. I realize that you are responding with emotion. I too understand that emotional response, however I can see both sides of the story. I have lost a child and I still feel that there may some level of justification for her seeking recompense for her injuries. It may not be right according to your ethics, it is obviously right according to someone else's. If the judge sees fit to award monies to the police officer, then she either made a really good case where there was not one, or she was actually deserving. Since none of us know anything about the case than what a couple hundred words of text try to portray than anything that we take from the text is merely conjecture. We can argue back and forth what you think is right versus what I think is right, however we dont have the facts. Until we get to a point where we both have the facts and aren't just assuming what happened then we might a well leave it alone. I thought that the whole thread is ridiculous becuase it is bashing someone who puts thier life on the line for a portion of the citizens of the US everyday, and does it willingly. Imagine if this police officer had done something for you or your loved ones (like saved someone's life), you would not be on a public forum dragging their name through the mud. You would be here praising them. From the little bit of info that is provided from the news article, the police officer is thought highly of by the people that she works with. So highly that they say that she should get a promotion. That is not someone who should be called a "cunt". My question for you is: how many lives has she saved? How many bad guys has she put in jail? How many people has she kept safe at night? From a different ethical perspective let me ask you a different hypothetical question: Let's say that a soldier is driving home on a friday evening. A family driving in a minivan, rushing one if thier young children to the hospital, runs a red light and broadsides the soldier. The soldier is injured and taken to a hospital. The family suffers many injuries to the point that one of the young children passes away and the other suffers burns over 50% of its body. The mother and father are both injured. Now, the soldier's medical bills will be paid in full. He will recieve 100% of his pay and allowances while he is on convalescent leave. The accident is clearly the fault of the other driver. Is the soldier in this situation ethically allowed to sue the family for any reason? If not, why not? 20. Dave, I agree with you wholehartedly. I also think that being a police officer is one of the most unappreciated jobs in the world. Because the only time that you want to see a cop is when someone else has done something to you. Other than that cops usually get the shit end of the stick. How many people get pissed after getting a speeding ticket? Those people aren't mad at the fact that they were breaking the law, they are mad that they got caught...and they are mad at the person that caught them. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  21. Fair enough. I am not going to defend her further without more facts/knowledge of what the entire situation is. I am just saying that it isn't a good idea to buy into the hype. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
  22. I feel the need to be the voice of reason here. I hate to defend someone who is may or may not be doing something that she feels is needed. I hate to even conjecture as to what her reasoning is for suing this family, if that is what she is in fact doing. First off, I think that all homeowners are required to carry a certain amount of liability insurance on thier homes, it is for situations where someone who is not a resident injures themselves while on that property. The value of the insurance is usually over $100K. 2nd off, let's use another situation. Let's say that a cop pulls someone over. They are on the side of the road and some douche bag talking on a cell phone rear ends the parked police car, which in turn leaves the police officer injured and out of work for several months. Should that police officer sue the DB who was talking on the cell phone and was negligent in their actions? 3rd, most police officers are paid on an hourly rate. That means that if this officer is out of work for 2 months there are potentially thousands of dollars that she could not earn. So, her medical bills were paid, and she got some income...but it probably wasnt what she would have earned had she been able to work overtime like she probably has been doing for the last 12 years. 4th, the news does not divulge how much the police officer is sueing for. My bet is that it is not a huge amount of money. Idk, but knowing this will tell what the officers motivations are. Whether recouping 2 months worth of OT pay, or putting in a pool, if you get my drift. You bought the hook that the news wanted you to. A little bit of skepticism allows people to sit back and take the facts in before they make an abrupt decision. 24. The same thing has happened to me several times. To remedy the problem I restart MS Outlook. Before it automatically starts to send/recieve I open the outbox, then delete the message. If you do this before the send/recieve occurs it releases the message. That usually happens if I try to send a message that is too big (over 3MB).
