  1. Quote in the end the built in left hand turn was the least of my problems. /reply] yeah your weenis was hanging to the left and you fly like a girl!
  2. hook the canopy up to a different container. if it still does it then it is most likely the canopy. sometimes the leg strap can be a tiny bit off and the lift web slightly off and the riser slightly longer and all of this combined with a highly loaded aggrassive wing will result in a built in turn. or it could be the canopy.
  3. from the horses mouth! you both need an upgrade.
  4. thats what i am saying, some do have a line stow system, not rubber bands but elastic stows. i know aerodyne's free bags have a stow system and when you watch a video comparison of line deployment with the stows Vs without the stows... the difference is dramatic. of course this was a during the R&D phase of the early icons and i have no way of gettinng the video but it truly was amazing. any ways my point was: it is not always just packing error that can create slack in the lines during deployment.
  5. not saying this is the case in either incident but lack of line tension can and does occur from body position during deployment as well as packing. This is why the reserve line stow system on certain containers incorporates a system that creates 'tension' on the lines instead of the usual 'freestow' system of most reserve freebags. after watching slow video of lines on reserve deplyment without a tension system(ie freestowed in the freebag) it is scary to see how messy the lines are during the bag lifting off and reaching full linestretch. It is surprising there arent more tension knots on reserves!! and thats on a normal controlled deployment!! just my two cents
  6. is that all you've got? 111metres? you pansy. nice one mate!
  7. your mom looks funny and your sista dresses badly!!! ha take that!! i fart in your general direction.
  8. I will be conducting a canopy course at Skydive Alabama, Cullman (that's in Alabama). Dates: Friday, Aug. 17th starting at around 7pm and jumps on Saturday, Aug. 18th This is for all levels and will culminate in a light-hearted, two round accuracy competition. There will also be prizes from manufacturers for the top three and also some others too. I will also have some demos from some manufacturers but I am still working on that so not sure what I will have exactly. The cost will be $30 per person and feel free to send me an email or pm with questions or to put your name down. Includes video of jumps and debrief of landings with one-on-one instruction. And for anyone who attends the course and is interested in doing more advanced stuff, I will be available for swoop specific training for the whole weekend. That can be for someone who is looking to get into swooping safely or a competition swooper looking to refine his/her skills. Let me know who's interested. Paul Rossouw
  9. I'm coming and bringing a few others with me. Ian gaylord drennan said he would be happy to stay on the ground all day and video and debrief landings no really we will be doing some sick swoop training for any one who wants in. Paul Rossouw
  10. My Wife had a sabre2 120 for a long time and after a reline it came back from PD with so many opening issues that packing just could not fix. i checked the line trim and it was exactly what it should have been. sad thing is i love this canopy and i learned to swoop on a sabre2 150 down to a 120 before going to a velo, and the sabre2s i jumped never had opeinings that were anything but soft and on heading. it seems that the line trim revisions from the early sabre2s when i was jumping them to now are more aggressively trimmed but the openings are far less consistent. I do not think you should have to 'fly' the openings of an intermediate level canopy. I know with my pilot i can TRASH the packjob and that baby comes out so on heading its not funny. if you cant fix it with packing technique and the canopy is in trim i would contact PD who will do everything in their power to fix the problem.
  11. you dont have a 96 homo you have a 90 and 84 but your point still stands i just wanted to call you a homo. for me i am losing faith in the downsize trend post weight restrictions. (in terms of distance) i think there is too big and i think there is too small somewhere in the middle is a canopy that is big enough but still loaded enough to go further than the rest all else being equal. i am yet to go further on my 79 than on my 92 but i suspect i will go further on my 87 than on the other two. i will let you know. even in the stronger headwind i still go a little further on the 92 for some reason which seems to go against my apriori reasoning.
  12. i have put neptunes through the works and they keep on ticking (or beeping). I put 2500 jumps on my first neptune before an airport luggage handler finally broke it and have had two more ever since (which i use concurrently. only problem is if i dont slow down enough on my speed canopy (79 jvx) before initiating my turn it goes ballistic thinking i am going to bounce (goes into freefall mode) but this does not happen on my bigger canopy (92). I have not tried other audibles simply because they are not waterproof that i know of.
  13. ok you caught me , the truth is i am still training up on my new top secret prototype ,
  14. unfortunately i will not be able to make that meet as master slaton and i some how got our calendars mixed and i had a scheduling conflict. i will be there for the next one however.
  15. Chris Beasley will be holding a canopy course in Conjunction with Paul Rossouw at Johannesburg Skydiving Club on the weekend of 8th june. please see the DZ.com calendar in about a day or so for details. or email me for any questions
  16. The pilot typically opens very soft. any canopy has the potential to whack you once in a while due to many variables. what you need to find out is was this a one off or is it consistently opening bad. if it consistently opens like this.then it may need relining or at the least an inspection. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL WHEN PACKING JUST TO GET IT TO OPEN SLOW. as far as the line twists go that would have a lot to do with the canopy being very tight in the container the biggest canopy you should be putting in the I6 is a 190 i used to test jump canopies that were sent in to aerodyne for various reasons and only about one in ten actually had a problem that was the canopy. so just make sure it is the canopy before you send it in and if it is they will be happy to fix it or point you in the right direction. PM me if you want any help
  17. was cutting a spectra brake line -over and the hook knife just broke. it was one of those plastic ones that most people have. i managed to eventually clear the lline over but now i will only use the benchmade solid metal hook knives from aerodyne.
  18. i use the same milled rings and i had to re finish mine because they got damaged. not a problem so long as you keep an eye on it. no punn intended.
  19. Ja T just watch for small nicks and dents on the inside of your slider grommets. if you get the right nick on the grommet it will be coming down your lines like a knife. i had the exact same set up. i stll love the idea
  20. actually i tried it for about a hundred jumps or so. i liked the effect on flight characteristics and the amount of freedom to reach up and grab the rear riser much higher but, as the slider came down and was making contact with the upper rings the slider grometts started to get small nicks and dents in themselves. so i stopped in case the grommets started damaging my thin lines. nice idea tho.
  21. well done for a safe meet. congrats to everyone. maybe in the next year or two i can come and watch if the dates are posted ahead of time. big congrats to Chris Beasley. AKA young ass hoppa all the best
  22. Triathlons typically open very soft if they are in trim and packed properly. i have one i use for birdman. if you are having the problem when other experienced people pack it then i would call sandy at aerodyne and have them check the canopy out, it may need a reline. just one hard opening under even newer linesets can mess with the trim. the number is 813 891 6300 you shouldnt have to compromise the way it is packed to get the decent openings
