  1. How he can cry over this is beyond me, he broke three parts of his oath. A-he said he wouldn't obey the presidents orders. B-he did not stop when he was ordered to do so. C-he broke the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Maybe I look at things a tad simpler than some civilians do, but he was given chances to stop so he got exactly what he asked for. if you poke at a snake long enough he will bite. He defiantly poked once to often. To ones that did or are serving, THANK YOU. A minor quibble - it was reported upthread that he would not obey UNLAWFUL orders. That *is* upholding his oath and the UCMJ and could, in fact, be used in his defense depending on how he is charged. Disrespect to officials (UCMJ article 88) only applies to commissioned officers, not NCO's. Disobeying a direct order is covered under Articles 90-92, but the orders have to be lawful. He'll probably be charged under the catch-all, Article 134, conduct prejudicial to good order. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

  3. You've got entry-level, which only applies in the first 180 days of service and doesn't characterize service. Then, in administrative discharges you have Honorable, General and Other Than Honorable, which do characterize service. After that, you have the punitive discharges: Bad Conduct and Dishonorable. 4. Again, nepotism. It's a word for a reason - that reason being, it exists. You could quite reasonably be arguing that the kids job in this case was simply circumstantial and not the result of underhand dealings - but to argue that the entire concept nepotism doesn't exist is baffling. It hurts your case here and your credibility in general to make a sticking point of such an absurd claim. I never made the claim nepotism doesn't exist, jake. Then all your responses to Bertt's topic so far are completely irrelevant. Wrong again. Oh, really? So nice of you to set me straight. At least it's better than your usual pirouettes. Well, you're such a smart guy, it should be obvious where the breakdown in your argument is. Feel free to post back when you figure it out. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

  7. Being so far to the Left that *ROMNEY* seems extreme right isn't an indictment on Romney. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  8. Widespread Persistent Thickening of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet by Freezing from the Base link Ironically, I'm currently reading a book that deals with exactly that. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  9. What else do you expect? If he were honest he'd destroy his own position. Speaking of honesty, I notice you reply to his comment and not my rebuttal. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  10. Sorry to hear that. Nope. Saying that it is not unlikely that UBS helped the Perry family hoping that would land them a job that could generate millions in fees. "For a Dad having a successful son is a source of pride and accomplishment. I would say that is a benefit. Some Dad's see getting their kids of their own "payroll" as a benefit as well." Hilarious statement, coming from you. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  11. You don't have kids do you? I did - she died shortly after her 18th birthday in an auto accident. Now - got something ELSE that actually bears on the subject? So you're claiming UBS gave his son the job to help his dad's self-esteem? That's an even lamer attempt to distract than your norm. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  12. Widespread Persistent Thickening of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet by Freezing from the Base link "Most of the melting ice shelves are located in west Antarctica, where the flow of inland glaciers to the sea has also been accelerating " Just how do shrinking glaciers "accelerate toward the sea", pray tell? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  13. Perry Jr. gets a high paying job, UBS gets all the fees. Both backs are scratched and off we go. Happens all the time in the business world. Not sure I even have that much of a problem with it, it really is human nature. And Griffin Perry's job (which had nothing to do with the lottery deal and which he left in order to work on his Dad's campaign, btw) *STILL* doesn't directly benefit his Dad. Smoke and mirrors. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  14. And *still* on a positive growth trend. www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=polar-ice-sheets-melting-faster-than-predicted You need to use the same dictionary that everyone else does. www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/20100108_Is_Antarctica_Melting.html Would that be your dictionary, where "gun" is the same as "murder"? No thanks, I think I'll look at the data, instead - it has the refreshing quality of being honest. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  15. And *still* on a positive growth trend. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  16. And Perry is going to benefit from that *how*, exactly? Oh, wait - here it is, from your Chron link: "Money from the sale would be invested to fund three trusts: one for public education, a second for cancer research and a third for health care for as many as 600,000 low-income, uninsured Texans." Well, *damn* him!!!! Just a coincidence that you bring this up to smokescreen Obama, you mean? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  17. Where it says "A few years *LATER*", you mean? Seems like they weren't helping the son to benefit the father after all, were they? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  18. Word used was *STILL* 'gun' and not 'murder'. Yet another kallend LIE. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  19. And if it IS a person, should it pay tax at the same rates "natural" people do? Corps pay between 15 and 39 percent depending on their profit. Did you have a point? Indeed, so GE would actually pay at 39% instead of ZERO On their profit, yes. How much tax would be paid on a profit of ZERO, perfesser? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  20. Got a mouse in your pocket? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  21. No, thats not what i said. Blues, Dave Then please explain how it's so hard to come down from 'flight or fight' but evidently so easy to switch from one to the other, especially given how it's well known how hard it is to stop a panicked flight (crowd panics, military routs, etc). Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  22. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/16/romney-more-prayer-in-schools/ Lets see Romney lead a prayer where he starts out: "Dear Elohim, please bless us tonight...." So, still nothing that shows where his religion affected his actions? *tsk* Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  23. So, your claim that average joes can't move/shelter income is debunked. Another attempt to misdirect when your argument fails? Imagine that... Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  24. I just gave you one. No, you didn't - unless Gingrich suddenly turned Mormon, as well? Because, y'know, I can't see anything in the article about Romney mentioning the Mormon faith at all in reference to the issue. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  25. The very wealthy; yes. The average Joe? Not a chance. Mortgage interest deduction. Childcare credits. Child tax credits. Etc etc. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
