50 years ago Israel became the name of the tribal nation that has been on that dirt since the Dead Seas Scrolls where written and the time prior to the bible being written. CNN and FOX announced in stories this weekend of the Iranian Clergy leading some of the current activity labeled "insurgent upswing". From as early as May of 2003 I captured Iranian SOF soldiers. So in my opinion, they are not able to qualify as Non-violent. Iran may not be openly involved in the MSM Bill, but they have never left the scene they joined in the late 70's. Same guy. He commanded the 82nd as a BG, then the 101st as an MG and as an LTG went back to Iraq to start up the IA training program. Then I think he was the Post commander of Leavenworth and then in SOUTHCOM. One day in his office he told me he had near 1700 jumps (I think that is right) and we kept a gear bag ready for him, but the SEC of the Army said "NO" till he was out of Command. I agree with max on the LT's failing to fulfill his commitment to his men. I also add that in reading the LT's comments his timing seams (to me) to be motivated by personal fear. He states he was trying to volunteer for Iraq, when the Army had him in a unit slated to go, just a little later, then he started this whole thing when his unit was boarding the planes to go to iraq. He also admits the information he based his "decision" on was there already in the MSM. Weather he is truthful about his reasons or not, his timing is suspect. And now he is restricted at HOME, they transferred him to Hawaii (the Divisions HQ), so as he prepares for his defense he is getting to kick his feet up and chill in paradise, while the soldiers he abandoned are trying to do the DUTY they swore too (just like the LT did) with a brand new leader who they may or may not know. But it is better he showed his coward stripes before he deployed and had his soldiers killed due to his actions or lack there of. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. I am just glad TO got shut down to the dismal numbers he had and was not a real factor. I have disliked him since his cry baby whining forced the all time great to leave SF. Snow is good for a visit, but that is it. The Army in its sick dark humor thought it was funny to send me to Alaska for 3 years after my first trip to SWA. After I had asked to be set to my birth place, Hawaii. Of course I didn't spend much time in Alaska and it did have an up side, my Wife and I met there! I travel enough that I am constantly stompen in to OPS to get the records fixed. I currently have a credit on my GOV BOA, can't use it as the card is "off" at the moment, so next time I will go against the credit right? Wrong! Upon activation for travel the card "zeros" if there is a credit or no balance due. So they get the extra money. It hasn't cost me any thing in reality but it is frustrating. Books and BSR's aside. I would personally bail out on the reserve no lower than 2K. But I am sure I would sit tight with my student if I could not leave with them. I agree with Chris. I have spoken and e-mailed Mr. Neeleds several times (some of our topics have even been mentioned in his editorials). He is looking out for the sport and its longevity. It is bound to upset a few folks and that is normal in any group, even one as SMALL as the US skydiver. He also had no trouble telling me personally when I asked about his duties and pay, as well as others of the staff. I think the staff is not payed as well as at other organizations for the same job. I can't imagine dealing with me when I am pissed and not listening. Yeah I have called up there a few times and been in the wrong but didn't say "sorry", till way later. Back on topic. Gen. Casey is replacing the Army Chief of Staff, this may make the possibility of Gen Cody (current Army Vice Chief of Staff) moving to the Chairmen's position in 12 months. Gen Abizaid it was said, in the Army circles, wanted to retire but was appointed, so he stayed. Now he can retire as he wanted (if the rumor was true) but he may be blamed in history for the unfinished mission in Iraq. I feel that would be wrong to do so. The current Army Chief was RECALLED from RETIREMENT, against his wishes, when the then Army Chief was "forced" to retire by the Sec Def's announced plan to replace him 1 year in advance. As for LTG Petreaus, I liked working for him. He was supportive and as far as I could tell went out and got the things I asked for, for my men to succeed (as did my previous boss GEN Cody). He helped develop the plan for Iraq's Army, he even pointed out its need prior to us crossing the border in 2003. If he can't do it I feel it will be a total loss for Us in Iraq. But in your Jpeg you show a Left and a Right hand pattern. The Compass idea may seem good at first but you just made a great and colorful argument on why it is flawed. Left and right is used by the aviation community Civilian and Military alike, and in my line of work I have seen it is international.
