The shoes, I have found, are tough and look good. They do just as we want in the canopy piloting arena and as far as looking, "uniform", we all are. I like the swede type shoes more as we can buff out a scuff easier than the polished leather versions of shoes. I think I am going to look in to a pair of the high top versions they have for our new folks. Maybe they will do all the low tops do AND have ankle support for those "oh shit" moments. Since the 101st has returned from iraq we have been rebuilding it's Parachute Demo Team. In the process we have called around to various Clothing, Foot Wear and Skydiving Equipment providers. Recently when we looked in to shoes (so the team would be in uniform with each other) we got a pleasant surprise from Emerica Skate. Emerica Skate asked what style, color and size we where looking into and when we answered, UPS'd em to us. They wont accept payment from us and stated they just wanted to say "Thank You". Adams USA (maker of the Neumann Tacified Gloves we all like so much) has done the same thing. They have sent Gloves, Adams Armor (Same as Under Armor) and again won't accept payment. I just though it was nice of them and that you all may feel the same way. I like the shoes over the other brands of skate shoes I have worn and the gloves I feel are the best all around for our use. I know that when it is time for me to buy shoes or gloves again I will be going to Adams USA and Emerica Skate.

I have seen many a video in my job just as LD described. It happens even with the faster A/C and better exit separation some times. It makes for some funny jokes in the assembly area some times. I don't care either way, but since it was the 70's and this argument started in the first campaign 30~ years apart, isn't it possible some of the "missing" documents could be missing from the transfer from Paper, to Micro, to Digital media? from one HQ storage facility to another several times? In the 20+ years I have been in the Army we have changed records keeping standards at least 5 times, and moved the storage facility and its HQ at least 3 times. Darius, Even Iran admitted the whole affair was screwed up. By the records they TOOK and reproduced only 3 members of the Embassy belonged to the CIA and 1 was a secretary. It started as a demonstration by the students (orchestrated by the Imam's clerics) and then later "approved" by the religion extremists who took over the country. Yeah every Jan we get a nominal pay raise. We also see BAH and COLA going up too. In April/May there will be a Targeted Pay raise in the Army. It is the way of the DOD. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I should have clarified a few of my points. Attack was probably a bit harsh, and the view I hold is after I talked to Mr. Needles 4 to 6 months ago on the phone and via e-mail. In our private organization I think before one complains about what the organization does he or she should be doing there part too (voting, writing the BOD, writing the regional Director) complaining here or at rec.skydiving does not really get your point across to any one at USPA except for a few, and as it is not formal, it can just as easily be ignored. Kudos to those BOD members here who address these complaints even when they don't have too. I am very disappointed in the majority of US Skydivers who just take USPA for granted. It is more than us just sending in our membership dues to make this work. If you DID NOT vote your just as much at fault and the ones you complain about. (not directed at you Jerry I see you have voted, now to answer your question, if the GI voted, either way, sure complain, if he didn't vote at all, he should take half the blame.) As long as the person who is asking for what Mr. Needles does on a daily basis is a person who also VOTED in the USPA elections. Mr. Needles fields numerous calls and E-mails a day from the membership, mostly Us complaining about USPA. He also gets plenty of calls about DZO's from DZO's. In essence he gets to be "Dad" for all our petty BS. Meets with the FAA and other GOV ORGS daily (in person and in phone conferences). Is working with GOV ORGS to increase the awareness of USPA in the US and increase the membership. And that is on top of running and Organizations daily office work with a relatively small staff. I used to be like a bulk of our membership and complain LOUDLY about the USPA Office ineptness. Now I have talked to the various staff and understand the day they have much better, I do not believe the Office to be inept any more. The BOD, is where I think we need to work. Here, I think a soldier can point out an opinion of another soldier. I may be off in the following of the thread and who blamed who topic. I made my statement based on the inside knowledge that the LT was trying to get assigned to units in Iraq that happened to be on their return to home orders. To me, it looked like he was trying to get to a unit who would not send him over since they would be coming home soon. When the Army said "No, train and deploy with your unit, they are going soon enough", he then took this line of attack. I know of a few who have tried to do this maneuver, 1 successfully, so far, but he is now in a Congressional Investigation for Fraud against the Government ( He got a bonus to go to Iraq).
