  1. Not even moderately big in the world of big-way jumps, but we set a new official POPS record for New Jersey yesterday with a 23-way formation from 13,500 ft. at Cross Keys in Williamstown, NJ It was 103 F. in the afternoon. Very hot and humid. In spite of the weather everyone stayed upbeat and it was a good day. We all kept well hydrated. This is especially important since, at 46 years old, I was one of the youngest guys on the jumps. The older you get, the more heat can affect you. Fortunately there was a fairly steady breeze around 8-10 mph that helped. Like I said, I know its small potato's in the big-way world, but it was the biggest formation I've been on and its cool to be part of a record. Hopefully I'll have some pix to add once someone can send me some... "edited to change 22-way to 23-way" __ My mighty steed
  2. In all likelihood, he did not mean it literally, but given the tirade he was on and his extremely hostile demeanor, I dont think it would be unreasonable for the person it was directed at to consider the posibility that he meant it. If I were on the receiving end of that tirade I would most definitely feel threatened, and I think its fair to say that almost anyone in that position would feel threatened. An officer of the law simply can not be allowed to behave in such a ludicrous fashion, and certainly should be held to a higher standard of conduct than your average joe that might say "I'm going to kill you" to someone he was ticked off at. He told the guy he should have shot him, threatened to blast him in the mouth and cave his head in. no matter how you slice it, he absolutely threatened the guy with serious harm Its unacceptible. __ My mighty steed
  3. It's not a threat of execution. I'm still waiting to hear why you think the cop threatening to cave the guys head in is not a death threat. __ My mighty steed
  4. Irrelevant. People dont change. Disarm the populace and some day the populace will be under the bootheels of an oppressive government with no way out. History has proven this over and over and over. The police also can NOT protect us from criminals. They MIGHT catch the guy that killed you after you are already dead, but they will never be able to arrive in time to do anything if someone attacks you. __ My mighty steed
  5. Yup. In addition, if I shoot an attacker in self defence, his family cant turn around and bring a civil case against me. No more victimizing law abiding citizens for protecting themselves from criminals. __ My mighty steed
  6. Thank god there are still some that understand that both the democrats AND republicans got us to where we are today. Both parties failed and both parties have to compromise to resolve this. __ My mighty steed
  7. In PA it was like that until a few weeks ago, but now we are legally entitled to use lethal force. We no longer have a duty to retreat both at home and on the street. __ My mighty steed
  8. It's not a threat of execution. . It most certainly is. Most people die when you cave their heads in. and he is also referring to a potential future action on his part, not a past event __ My mighty steed
  9. I would say "If you have to ask, then you aren't who you claim to be"
  10. Thats the way to go. Nobody in here can see your daughters mouth so nobody is going to be able to offer a meaningful opinion __ My mighty steed
  11. I would say "If you have to ask, then you aren't who you claim to be"
  12. This is very cool stuff.
  13. Full story: http://www.wbaltv.com/r/28595846/detail.html So if a robber fires a warning shot to scare his victims into submission, his cost of doing "business" goes up by $1. I don't think that's going to serve as much of a deterrent. On the other hand, people who participate in legitimate recreational shooting, firing a hundred or more rounds in a session, will no longer be able to afford to shoot. Since most rifle ammo now costs $1 per round, adding a $1 per round tax on top of that, effectively doubles the price of ammo for lawful shooting sports. I load my own ammo and buy my components on-line. It wouldn't hurt me, but it would hurt the retailers as more and more people began to load their own to keep it affordable, and of course it would hurt the folks that dont have the time or equipment to reload. __ My mighty steed
  14. Some of the footage is cool. The music not so much. Normally I avoid posting negative opinions since enjoyment of music is so subjective, but people keep posting this thing over and over. Enough already __ My mighty steed
  15. I dont think this is cool either. __ My mighty steed
  16. That wouldn't be a sales call if it were directly to your face. It's a "call" in the context of, "I'm going to call on my next door neighbor." That does not mean I'm picking up the phone and making a call. Nope, not buying it... I don't know what you west coast people are smokin! The terminology isn't used much any more, but "calling on" someone has long been used to refer to visiting in person. __ My mighty steed
  17. If God were to reveal his Shekinah Glory to non believers, wouldn't they still think he's a "fucking dick," or will they shit their pants and drop to their knees and repent in a pool of piss? That is the question... I never thought God was a "fucking dick" even when I believed in him. Those are someone elses words, so its not appropriate for you to toss them at me in response to a serious post. I dont think he is a dick now either, nor do I think Santa Claus is a dick because its alleged that he gave some people coal in their stockings for not measuring up to his expectations. Still, I'd rather get a lump of coal than an eternity in hell, so all in all if I was going to believe in fairy tales I think I'd go with Santa I think if God is what you say he is and revealed himself to anyone, believer and non-believer alike, they might just shit their pants. __ My mighty steed
  18. Thats very easy to say given the total absence of any proof that we have now. I'd like an opportunity to test that theory. Show us some real, tangible, concrete proof of the existence of God and then we'll see if its sufficient or not. I have an open mind and I dont believe I'm 100% right all the time. I sure as hell dont believe that humans are the top of the evolutionary ladder in the universe and that theres much that I dont (or cant) understand. If I'm presented with incontrovertible proof I will certainly take it into consideration and possibly change my position. Keep in mind that the bits of "proof" that are generally offered are so incredibly open to different interpretations that they do not constitute proof of anything at all. As of this writing, I do not believe in God as an omnipotent, omniscient being that has a great plan that we are all a part of. I did believe this as a child but I do not believe this any longer. __ My mighty steed

    Helmets

I feel exactly that way. I have both types and vastly prefer the open face. I'll only wear the full face if its super cold. I wear a half-helmet on my motorcycle as well. I just like the wind in my face
  20. You sound like you aren't happy about it. __ My mighty steed
  21. So why did God make so many horrible people?
  22. Kind of similar to the response by humans in the same situation. The humans chose to be there, though. __ My mighty steed
  23. Yeah man that's just not right. Seriously. and nothing to protect its eyes either. The cat must have been terrified. That guy is a douche-bag __ My mighty steed
  24. Why are you stiff and sore? Was it a very hard opening? __ My mighty steed
