1. Does anyone know who organizes the jumps into Lake James in northeast Indiana at the 4th of July party every year?
2. Hey Space, Can you explain why a large PC could cause your canopy to collapse on front riser input. I trust you but I'm having a hard time rapping my mind around that. I took a 42 and a 46 with me to tombstone and the person I was with only had a 36 so I let her use my 42 and I used my 46. I front risered in to landing and didn't have any issue luckily. 3. I know some people find him pretty abrasive, but Robin Heid could probably contribute some helpful insights to this as well. Anyone seen him post lately? If I don't see him reply I'll email him about this. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
4. i just checked out the new favorite base pics and I'm jones for some base. Thanks for sharing. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
5. Headed to bootcamp today. See you guys in 11-20 some odd weeks. I'm kind of curious to see what sorts of replies this gets, but I guess I'll have to wait those weeks to see. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
6. You seem really depressed lately Nick. I hope some of the locals take you out for a beer and I hope everything is alright. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
7. yah i was thinking you'd need to fix a protractor with an adjustable laser pointer on it to a level. That and binoculars. it'd probably have to be a badass laser pointer too. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
8. Awesome thank you. I'm saving that image. My pic from my last post didn't work so here it is again. looks like someone turned off the image bbc code. http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5960/picas9.jpg I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
9. Can you explain that more? You range finder C1 and C2, but how do you get B1 and B2? Maybe I'm way off of what you were explaining. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
10. Can you re-explain that? I've learned this once before when I started trig, but that doesn't make any sense to me. Are you saying you can figure the height by taking only one range finder reading? That's what it seems like? height = where your at to top * sin? also height = where your at to bottom of cliff * cos? I almost said the same thing when I read this. Sadly that's all I know about Belize. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
12. hah By the way, I'm going to be celebrating my birthday and my going away to boot camp at the College Inn pub Saturday night at about 10:30. You should come. I'm going to call everyone tomorrow probably. I've been pretty sick the past few days. It's on 40th and University in the U district. Going at 10:30 because we're watching UFC first. Anyone that will be in the Seattle area on Saturday night is invited. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
13. When are you going to be in Washington? Driving Instructor? We should rent a car Oh, and do you already BASE jump? I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
14. At my last job I had an insurance that they offered called metlaw. It was only $9/month for an attorney to represent you if you need it. They have a network of attorneys for all different categories. I never used it, so I can't say if it was easy or worth it, but it seems like a great idea. 15. I want some armor with fine mesh made of somethign like spectra rapped all around it so that there is no snag potential. It would also be awesome if it floated. Full body armor or individual peices. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman

Austria

Reading this I thought to myself. No matter how good it gets, and how many objects we have that become totally legal 24/7/365, we're always going to have things that we want to jump off of that we aren't allowed to. Antenna's will be bought and made for the jumping, but our local antennas will still be trespassing. Building will allow events at certain times of year or if you know the right people maybe always, but we won't be able to jump any building we want. So the best we can really hope for is more objects that should be legal, to be legal. i.e. Yosemite I'm very drunk right now, but I think that makes sense. Legalize it. also, some people like breaking the law and that's a part of base jumping that they like. so maybe everything not being legal is a good thing for them. Also I can see even if every region of the world had a legal object, it might get boring to you after a while and you'll want to venture to other objects in your area that aren't. Every lock is pickable or bipassible, so every base jump is accesable without anyone ever knowing accept you, you just have to have the right plan and the right tools. Some will obvously be harder than others and might cost something out of your range, but, i'm going to stop now. hopefully this inspires some good conversation and hopefully we'll all have more legal objects soon. 18. Avenphoto you left out the "For all I know" which I figured people would understand as me saying I don't know jack about the ESB. Rhonda, same thing. Somehow you missed that. I was just saying that I figured it was probably only possible in the day time. It turned out I was wrong and this could have been done stealthier, but you don't know his ulteriour motives either. Not that this excuses hiim from fault, but it could have been for a show or a movie. He is a professional BASE jumper. That means he gets paid to base jump and he has a shit load of jealous fans. Question

I use that as one of my safety strategies. I expect a 180 every time I jump a solid object. I think about it before I jump and again when I pitch. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
20. I hope this isn't a prank because I'm very excited. I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
21. I think the individual floors of buildings are most of the structural strength. I wonder if you could build a building 1100ft tall, that was wide enough to fly a parachute around in, with no floors? Probably have to be stagerred on the outside like the ESB I've got this really hardcore group of gaurdian angels that need a free paid vacation. ~Dan Osman
22. I don't care if people know how Jeb planned on accessing the ESB, because it shouldn't take a fucking james bond ninja. For all I know he could have gone right to the top with his rig in a bag and hopped off only having to worry about potentially landing in traffic and then hooking up with his ground crew. razor wire

I saw some awesome gloves recently at a sportsmans show that were kevlar that was dotted with some type of resin and supposedly would work for handling roses, barb wire and razor wire. Can't remember what they're called, but if you google cut proof gloves you find a bunch of stuff like that. Mainly kevlar. 24. I was going to quote the same incident hydroguy did. Here's a little more detail. It wasn't what we imagine of freefall, but still amazing. Vesna Vulović (Serbian: Весна Вуловић) (born 3 January 1950) holds the Guinness Book of Records world record for surviving the highest fall without a parachute: 10,160 meters (6.31 miles, or 33,000 feet). The fall occurred on January 26, 1972, over Srbská Kamenice in Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). Émigré Croat terrorists (Ustaša) had placed a bomb on board JAT Yugoslav Flight 364, on which Vulović was a flight attendant. The explosion tore the DC-9-32 to pieces, but Vulović survived. She remained strapped into her seat in the tail section of the plane that was still attached to the washrooms. The assembly struck the snow-covered flank of a mountain. The 22-year old was not scheduled to be on that flight; she had been mixed up with another stewardess named Vesna. Vulović was the only survivor on the flight. She continued working for JAT at a desk job following her full recovery from injuries which included a fractured skull, two broken legs and three broken vertebrae, one of which was crushed and left her temporarily paralyzed from the waist down. She regained the use of her legs only after surgery. Vulović was awarded the Guinness Record title by Paul McCartney at a ceremony.
