  1. Hey, what dz in Houston. My grandparents live in Sugarland and I usually visit once a year. I was at Spaceland last year in August. I'd love to visit you all out there and get some coaching. Thanks for the offer.
  2. He is a nice guy. He gave me a pro-dytter for free. I guess you can do that when you have all the contacts that he does. I do my part to drag his ass out of his office and get some jumps. He definitely work his ass off, always telling me about this deadline and that deadline. Anyway that's cool that we have a mutual friend. Blues.
  3. Look, Grab Look, Grab Peel, Pull Risers Clear Pull and hope for the best.
  4. I just called square1 for one of those container closing tools. Lisa (skybytch) do you know Adam Buckner? He's a friend of mine in ABQ, NM and is giving me a bunch of those sky bands. Matter of fact I think I actually heard your name come up last weekend, Adam was talking to someone about working for SQ1. Anyway, that just rung a bell. BLues
  5. It truly is like nothing else in the world. I have 156 jumps so I think I'm doing pretty well. I definitely plan to take it slow and do lots of solos. Although I dont get much time to practice at my dz, since we start at 5000 feet, we only get up to 10K above the ground. It's all good though.
  6. Does anyone know who makes/sells those black rubberbands for packing that are just as strong as tube stoes? I want to buy some but I cant find them.
  7. I do have a big head. good guess. But I also have an oxygen A3 with racing stripes on it so that reduces drag and makes me go faster :-) haha. Speaking of that helmet it actually came open on me in sit last weekend. Kinda bummed me out, I just flipped it back down and continued to have a kick ass dive. Blue skies and fast inverted/vertical speed.
  8. I finally got a taste for "stable" headdown this weekend. I was jumping a brand new Michigan Suit which I think helped. It was soooo cool. I always figured that it comes you to all at once, but now I realize that you get it very slowly. Every jump you get a little more of a handle on it. Last jump on Sunday (sunset load) I held it all the way down and was able to keep my self facing the setting sun. It was soo awesome. Just thought I'd share that. Blues
  9. That is exactly how I do it. I uncollapse it before I do anything to the canopy about the same time I uncollapse the slider and stow the brakes and I check it no less than 4 times after that throughout the pack job.
  10. Hey, ah riggerrob, could up explain that last sentence please. Dont have a clue what you meant by that, but I am interested in finding out as I have a saber 170 that I want to learn how to get consistent smooth openings Thanks
  11. I'm in. $25 is a small price to pay for the service this site provides. All hail the Big Dog.

    Ouch. You tell em Sis.
  13. So if I try stuff of the like under my saber 170 (i'm close to 200 w/ gear), is that reasonable or am I asking for trouble?
  14. I jump a saber 170 so it's not soo high performance. would you just start to pick up speed towards the ground when you hold the toggles in the stall?
  15. I gotta question. If you stall your canopy and keep the toggles all the way down for and extended period of time after that, what will happen? Will your canopy turn into a ball of shit until you let the toggles back up? Is it safe?

    Lift Price

    here in NM, we pay $14 to 3,500/ $16 to 6,000 and 18 to 10,000 out of a 182.
  18. I was going to go to Eloy, $11 jumps is a kick ass deal. I have a friend who is getting married that weekend so I cant make it, so I'll prolly just jump the 182 at the home dz. Oh man is it going to be hot in Eloy. Blues
  19. hey everyone, check out this url (what does that stand for anyway?). Click on the "play game" link at the bottom. http://looneytunes.warnerbros.com/web/all_new_toons/home.jsp by the way, how do I make something a live link in my posts? Enjoy.
  20. You're right. It's prolly gonna suck tomorrow. I may decide to be there Sunday depending on how things go tomorrow. Besides it'd be great to meet you too. Blues
  21. That would be awesome if you came out here. I'm probably not going to be out on Sunday, but i'll be there on Satruday. You oughtta come out for the Caravan Boogie on the 18th, 19th & 20th. It is going to be so much fun.
  22. Thanks for the words of wisdom. I have recently started jumping an old Hi-8 Sony on a SkyDance Paramount System III camera helmet. The helmet works good, but I get tons of tape flutter even with the camera buried in gaffers tape. I was actually about to buy a Sony DCRTRV11 today, but the deal it turned out to be wasnt as good as I thought it was, so. Thanks again.
  23. I have heard some pretty screwy things about Reflex's. From reserve packing to lack of riser protection, to deployment problems. I dont think I'll ever jump a reflex. That's just me.
  24. anyone know what kind of container he was wearing?
  25. Thanks people. I appreciate the input. Lately I have been rolling the hell out of my nose and it has been working okay. So I think I'll just stick with that. Blues Krishan
