Here is another memo I missed. I recently purchased a new Ford Fiesta. (Laugh if you must, I average 39 mpg.) I noticed that it does not have a mechanical lock for the steering. With the engine off and the key removed, the steering wheel is free to rotate. I can coast the last .25 mile home, make multiple turns, and negotiate to my parking spot, all with the key in my pocket. Are all mechanical steering locks gone? If so, when did this happen? Is it just on some cars? If so, what is the determining factor? I thought it was law at some point that all cars had to have them. Thanks! This is what it looks like when it is all working smooth. I'm betting that there was a fair amount of down time for maintenance and/or breakdown. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

The greatest thing about those movies is the total lack of an internet in all of their views of what the "future" would be. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

This is the way I feel about it. The other day I had the opportunity to ride a C206 with the door off. Yeah, there are dangers that you need to be aware of but be careful and those dangers are mitigated. And then there is the WFFC 412. No chance of a pilot chute getting loose under that extremely controlled configuration. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

Seat belts to 1,000'. That's the rule. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

I was asking diablopilot if he would jump a C206 that doesn't have a door. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

What about an aircraft that has no door? Like a C206 with a cargo door (that isn't there)? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

Do skydiving skills also keep you safer on the ground?
SansSuit replied to Namowal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well played, sir. Well played. Certainly, any life-saving skill you learn, be it skydiving or anything else, will help keep you safer in general. Concepts you learn in the sport like situational awareness, priorities, defensive flying, can all help you in real-life situations. Like you say, it may not make you super-anything but they can help safe your ass someday. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving -

Little brag: Today I made my 400th naked skydive. I have at least one naked jump in each of the last 119 consecutive months .... in Wisconsin. Coldest I've ever jumped naked is 13° F. [/brag] Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

Where's the Southern Cross DC-3 now?
SansSuit replied to BillyVance's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
OK, does this go in the logbook as a DC-3 or a C49J? If the latter, where can I make an actual DC-3 jump? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving -
Vegas Extreme? Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

Thanks for the explanation. I do have a couple questions. What was the size of the actual landing area? Secondly, how does one get a location that arguably meets at least some of the requirements for a demo jump, declared a dropzone for a day? I'm not trying to start anything, just looking for information. Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

Hiya- I'm hosting a non-skydiving site that contains a list of email addresses. Someone suggested that I add a link to the following web site http://officeofstrategicinfluence.com/spam/. I've not heard of this before. Is this a legit strategy? Or is it the moral equivalent of using postage paid reply to mail a brick back to the sender?
